Chapter 57 - I Fell In Love Already

"You just interrupted the moment I had with my wife." He walked inside Randall's office with a grim look. Leo unbuttoned the upper buttons of his polo and stared at Randall's back relentlessly.

"Your wife?" Randall broke off his reverie. Leo must be dreaming now while he's awake. He's already head over heels to Zella. Even though their marriage isn't officially enlisted, Leo believed they're a husband and a wife.

Leo sighed, rolling his eyes. "What do you want?"

Randall ordered, "Aren't you going to sit down first?"

Leo scoffed, "Are you commanding me, your boss?"

Randall bickered, "You let Zella inside the training room, isn't it?"

Leo doesn't have time to argue with him. His feet itched to come back inside and have moments with his wife. It's the only thing that keeping him alive out of the Idris' trashy government, president, and even the head sectors. At this point, he doesn't seem to care about Jeremy's threat anymore.

"What's in there for you, if I let her in? He's my wife, and he had the right to know."

Randall's jaw dropped on the floor. It's the thing that made him wonder if Leo badly needed a psychiatrist. He's being delusional, not to mention that the fake license they had to forge made Leo believed their marriage is real.

He scoffed. Randall is afraid he might get to this point on when he continued to hit with Louise.

Leo sat down on the couch, frustrated about everything. It isn't normal now. He's getting upset on a tiny thing that deviates on its own. Leo might as well develop a kind breathing to know if he's already stressed out.

Randall walked, approaching him on the long sofa, and took a seat down.

"Leo, get it all straight. You and Zella isn't a real thing. Me and Vincent has done a lot of things to cover her up, and to make sure the two of you IS LITERALLY married. We just obey your orders, Leo, and you assured us…"

Leo swallowed, uttering, "I broke the promise. I didn't obey my own order of not falling in love with a fugitive, Randall. It's supposed to be my own rules, but I broke it, and…"

He's panicking. Deep inside, he's nervous. It was the first time he felt like he's losing something rather than himself. Leo only cared for himself before Zella came. The things have changed, and right now, even a single wound in Zella's fingertip… he'd rush over to mend it with a bandage.

"Leo, how can we…"

"I'm not sure, Randall. Don't ask me, because I'm not sure how to deal with this," Leo begged. Randall leaned back, stunned by his words, and how madly his boss fell in love with a Telamur citizen.

Now, he knew what is the thought of a human being eating his words and finally experiencing what he picked on to other people.

It's never good.

"So you fell in love with her?" Randall hushed, ready to listen. Leo didn't look up to meet his friend's eyes. He just sat there, propping his elbows in his knees, and breathed heavily.

"Zella's… a strong one. Something I didn't possess," he started.

Leo realized everything else that made him turn on and open his heart to someone like her. When they're spending the night in the bed together, he noticed how warm her body was. It's the kind of heat he wanted at all.

Whenever Zella's in his comforter, spreading out her scent, like a cat murmuring for its master, it made Leo fulfilled in a matter of days. That's how love made him weak at one point, but dauntless on many aspects. Zella was its number one reason.

Leo stood up from the couch, saying, "The first time I saw her on that bed, bleeding out, I knew something's up on me. My emotions got stirred off, and I have to acknowledge it or else, it'll be bigger."

He stopped right at the front of the floor-to-ceiling window, and tucked in his hands. Randall only anticipated the words coming out of his boss' lips. It was exciting to see their boss finding the right meaning of love.

Leo stared at the city lights. Zella loved the twinkle of the skyscrapers at night. Although he made that up, Leo had to find himself loving it until he has gotten used to it. Whenever he has done for work, Leo's actually finding enough time to admire the city lights before coming home.

"This will be a habit, Randall."

His second-in-command asked back, "What?"

"Loving Zella. It's going to be a habit. Plus, I really liked the city lights. It adored me so much," Leo pointed out. Randall gritted his teeth, knowing this would be difficult on their side. With the leader of the Cassanos falling in love with the top-priority fugitive, he knew he had a better deal.

"So, what's your plan now, Leo? Are you going to make Jeremy a fool for waiting Zella's head or you'll just swing by the normal routine?"

By means of normal routine, they have to corner Zella in order to behead her. It's the plan they had to take up whenever Jeremy Tyran has to order something. Randall was afraid Leo would take another path that will leave them with nothing.

For starters, Randall had been wishing to get the lifetime seal of guarantee sooner. They had been working at this field for 5 years, and they haven't got a single reward that would leave him in a benefit. Leo must have thought out of the box.

"We'll improvise. I know for a fact you wanted the lifetime seal of guarantee, Randall, but I have something in mind."

Randall sighed heavily, retorting, "How long should we have to do this in order to get that guarantee? I'm tired of being a dog under Jeremy, walking around his feet, waiting to retrieve the food. It's the thing that woke me up, Leo."

Leo knew his members were having a hard time dealing with his inconsistencies. He was promising a thing on another, but Leo's the one who would break it, too. Leo had just wondered how long his members—especially Randall—got to tolerate this kind of actions.

He's surprised to see them holding out for a bit, waiting for him to change.

Leo turned his heel around, asking, "Don't you want freedom over the lifetime seal of guarantee? That makes much more sense than the ones they're offering."

Randall wrinkled his eyebrows. He doesn't have any idea of what he's talking about.

Leo continued, "Freedom is for all, Randall, to be free of Idris and its suffocating rules. Have we ever wondered what it's like to turn down our jobs as a spy and turn our guns to the real enemy?"

Is he turning to an activist one, just like Etienne? They're thinking of letting the barriers go down and be as one, against Yunis?

"What are you suggesting, Leo? Are you…"

Leo walked along the back of the couches while inquiring, "You ever heard of Mr. Speak?"
