It was enough to carry out the mission Randall's been dreading to take a step on.
Fragility and incredulously, Louise got taken away by the sudden shift of their actions. She tried to come up with a solution to get away, but the kiss was heartwarming. It wasn't a force, or simply an advantageous move to make them closer.
It's an answer. Louise just had to see it for herself or not, whether to believe if he had any intention to kiss her alone, or had a reason… for her to stay quiet.
With how Randall acted the details of his answer, there's no reason for her to stay away from it. Also, she asked it. Louise was the one who intrude a serious conversation and make it a personal matter.
Randall's right, she's here to tail him. To know more about him, the guy who asked her for a dinner. Louise was doing her job as the hailing leader of the inspection team. It's only a secret order from Jeremy Tyran, but this turned out to be such a detail she couldn't get rid of.
With the report she needed to make this week, Louise doesn't have a knack to put 'they kissed' as her statement.
Randall didn't break apart. His lips continued to explore every nibble in his mouth, to let his hands stay in the air for a while before allowing him to enter her private space. Louise's arms rested above his shoulders, probably to give way to their blooming kiss.
Every breath they took, they shared it with each other.
Every move stepped closer to the void.
Only when a car passed did Louise had the time to get awoken and widen her eyes. Louise didn't know how she moved away, but she slapped Randall's face all of a sudden. Not that hard, but enough to make Randall get splashed with reality.
The honk of a distant car mumbled in their ears until it broke off the muffled bubble.
Earlier, Randall couldn't see anything but Louise's face. As he leaned in, he knew there was no turning back. If he gave this answer, he'd be able to set a gap between them. At the same time, to build angst no one can escape from.
Maybe… they're born to kiss at first conversation then get to know each other later.
As her palm etched on a stinging red mark on his cheek, Randall didn't do anything at all. A smirk, a chuckle, or even a snicker, nothing. He didn't want to disrespect her. Randall is wrong, too, for kissing her without permission.
"Why did you have to kiss me?" Louise blurt out.
She gasped for air, wiping the corners of her mouth, as if trying to get rid of his scent.
Louise doesn't have the time to goof around, but today, her day is ruined. She doesn't have any plans to get kissed bow a random guy. She couldn't have the same impression as she had with Randall at first.
Though she wouldn't admit it at first, he's attractive. He has a bold face. Randall's charisma never wore out even if he left the room along with Leo Luciano that meeting announcement.
He seemed a killer on one look. Well, he is.
Maybe isn't her type, but enough to make Louise fall in love with him.
When she hissed, Louise knew she had blown off a dream like kiss she wanted when she was still a little kid. Now, someone stole it.
An arrogant guy who just wanted to prove that he'll get every girl with his dirty way, a man named Randall Cross. Louise swore to the heavens she didn't pray for this man.
"You asked me how I capture women, Ms. Louise Shelton. I showed you the way." Randall's tone made her want to puke. It's enough to give him time to explain, but now how he validated the reason he had to kiss her unknowingly because of her question. He's having a toxic mind and Louise wanted to walk away from it.
"You showed me how to capture someone's heart, but you unnoticeably lean in to kiss me? Without even asking if you can? Are you being serious now?" Louise was abhorred. This isn't the outcome she expected. She has gone frustrated to even let them talk a little longer.
Randall shrugged. He chuckled, remembering how she kissed back.
"But you like it, and I don't mind if we do it again," Randall confessed.
Louise's eyes were nearly bulging out of its sockets. She's too fragile. One kiss and all of her boundaries have come torn apart. If he known Louise is shallow, Randall would have taken it more deeply.
"I like it?" Louise pointed to herself, and her jaw dropped wide.
Randall chuckled, looking down. He crossed his arms over his chest, and even simply traced his bottom lip, observing how Louise got defensive of responding.
"How can you even say that nonsense reason when you're the one who initiated the kiss?"
"How can you even fire me back a question when you're the one who made me initiate it?"
Louise scoffed, raised both of her hands, and couldn't believe this guy is getting dislikeable every second. Louise darted her eyes everywhere, searching for the word to shut Randall's mouth of. She pointed at him, but lowered it down right away.
Randall tilted his head to one side, challenging her to drop it.
"What the… what are you trying to say now? I just asked you, and I didn't let you kiss me!" Louise called out.
"But you responded, so that's a win-win," Randall retorted.
He scrutinized how Louise dealt with a sudden shift in plans. Her focus wasn't on the job anymore, but because of how Randall kissed her in the middle of the interrogation. She tailed him, but doesn't even observe him for a week, and how he deal with things.
Now that he finally averted the call, Randall had to remind her of the basics.
"You are such a moron, Randall Cross," Louise insulted. She doesn't want time to argue, because she still had business to take care of. Louise hitched the purse at the side, leaving Randall from the bench, and walked fast, away from the stupid man who stole her first kiss.
He knew it's that time to drop it.
"Focus on the plan, Louise." With his words, Louise halted from her tracks.
Now, what would this stupid man want to garble at all?
Louise hissed, whispering obscenities under her breath. It's unfair that she's the only one affected, and Randall seemed unfazed by the kiss. By then, Louise proved that Randall dated many women in his life.
He must have been to any fancy restaurants to eat with them.
And now, he's asking Louise about it? He must have desired to put her name on the top of his list to show off to his cronies.
Now, Randall had to shift the talk once again?
"I kissed you and you forgot what your agenda is today," Randall revealed.
With that, Louise' forehead crease wore off, and she gritted her teeth. Randall walked up a few steps on the pavement to make sure to set the distance. Louise' shoulder sulked as she turned halfway.
Randall added, "You make a fuss about the kiss but not about the details of your tailing."
Louise doesn't want to listen for a moment, but then, she realized what he's talking about. She followed Randall off to a fancy restaurant to retrieve details, something she can use on a meeting to straighten out their secrets and reveal them one-by-one.
Louise had a plan in her mind to obtain results this night, evilly piling it on a document and keep in store for later.
When the plan took midway, Louise thought it'd be successful.
But Randall was getting used to someone tailing him. And he knew how to swerve the car on the wrong path.
"You aren't even focusing at all, Louise. I'm not a boastful man, but I'm finding a way—a tactic—to get out of your grasp without you noticing. Now that I occupy your mind with the kiss I made, it's time to have another bullet to shoot."
Louise gradually averted her heel around, glaring at him.
"Make sure that you have a shield out for necessary measures, Louise. You have a plan, but it dissolved right way because there's a hole. You exactly knew what has happened, right?" Randall smirked, and nodded repeatedly at her.
