Chapter 1 - Prologue

"let's break up"....

Millicent Owen felt like the luckiest woman on earth with the most loving boyfriend and great friends and family. Graduating from Standford college with a diploma in accounting, celebrating her seven years anniversary with her high school boyfriend Davy Kent and a five years anniversary with her best friend Milena Cheng, Millicent couldn't be happier.

Millicent and Davy had been together since high school, luckily for them they got admission into the same university and continued their love story.

Millicent's phone buzzed and she brought it out of her purse to check it out, it was a text message from Davy, "can we talk?" She started texting back. "Sure. Where are you?"

Waiting for his reply, her best friend called out to her running towards her, "Milly!" Millicent turned around and noticed her best friend waving at her and she waved back.

"Hey girl," Millicent said, "you look great."

"So do you." she replied.

Millicent blushed at the comment of her friend. She received a reply from Davy, "the lovers corner."

"what's up?" Milena asked.

"Oh nothing, I have to meet up with Davy at the lovers corner."

"Right now? It's almost time to collect our diploma."

"yeah I know, i won't be too long okay." She said tapping her friends shoulder before running off.

She searched around for her boyfriend but instead found a beautiful young lady sitting at the bench at the lovers corner.

She walked towards the lady and smiled, "hi," the lady turned back to look at her.

"Have you seen any guy around here?, tall, blonde hair and blue eyes, eye color wasn't really necessary but anyway, have you?"

The lady just smiled.

"Milly," a voice called out to her from behind and she turned around.

"Oh Davy." She walked up to him and hugged him, "what was so urgent? It's almost time to receive our diplomas."

He had a streak of guilt in his eyes and it worried her, "babe, what's wrong?"

The young lady walked towards them and Davy held her hand, "I'll meet you at the party Tara." She placed a soft kiss on his cheek before walking away.

"What is this Dave?"

"Millicent.... Let's break up."

His words left her discombobulated. She didn't know what to do or say, she felt like a small knife had stabbed through her heart. "Babe, is this a joke?" he looked at the ground feeling doleful but remained quiet.

"Dave!"

"I'm sorry Millicent. That's Tara, my...girlfriend."

She couldn't speak, she felt like her heart was going to explode. Tears began rolling down her eyes and her head suddenly started aching, "I'm sorry Millicent." Davy said. He turned and walked away leaving her with nothing but her emotions.

Her phone rang and to no surprise, it was Milena, "hello, where are you?!, get over here now!" and she hung up.

Millicent wiped her tears and went back to her friend to receive her diploma.

Her eyes were red from crying so much and as she was called up to receive her diploma, she fainted on the stage...
