The night sky was pitch black, dark clouds covering the entirety of the openness above me. I could feel little droplets of rain hitting my nose, as I stood in my wolf form. My dark gray shape getting soaked, all the while blending in with my surroundings for better cover for what's to come. As I waited to signal my pack that it was time to advance on the Witches, I thought to myself what had become of this situation to cause it to go to such extreme measures. Usually the Werewolves and Witches got along. The Witches help us with processes that we need to help our community (something I won't go into right now) and in return we give them protection.
This Coven of Witches though, has been terrorizing my pack for centuries now, always refusing our help or wanting to make a treaty. It had been something us Alphas had been trying to figure out the reasoning behind ever since, but with no luck. Tonight though, was the night my pack ended their tierney once and for all. If they weren't going to surrender and take the treaty, then we would end their coven.
"Lucas, everything is ready." my Beta mindlinked me from across the field. We had our warriors surrounding the outer tree bank that was around the Witches community; ready to strike whenever I gave the order.
"Thanks, Lincoln. We will head out in a second." I replied, taking a few more minutes to make sure everything was in place.
I lifted my head and sniffed the air, I could smell their scents on the territory but the noises were minimal. I could hear faint breathing in the distance, but not enough to where I think the whole coven was there, but we had to try.
I let out a howl as I mindlinked my pack, "Take the surrounding houses, I will take the main Tavern." as I charged out of the shadows and into the open field to my target, I could feel a little bit of hesitation from the pack, unsure like I was that anyone was here.
My pack howled in unison as they finally followed my lead, their large paws making the Earth under our feet rumble, like a herd of wild deer stampeding.
I growled as I neared the front door of the Tavern, my wolf getting anxious, waiting to end this. I jumped in the air once I got close enough, my large figure slamming through the wooden door, shattering it to pieces. My hair stood on its haunches as I looked around the room, growling as saliva dripped from my muzzle. I saw furniture placed neatly around the room, completely untouched. Tons of books, herbs, and bottles laid sprawled across the floor and on the furniture itself. Some bottles full of some sort of liquids, and then some empty. I could also see traces of blood leading to the door at the back of the room, but no Witches in sight.
"Not a Witch found yet, Alpha." I heard throughout my pack's mindlink, every warrior confirming the same thing. I grumbled in frustration, not knowing where they possibly could be. Shaking my head I continued to walk to the back door of the Tavern, nudging it open with my nose. As I stepped inside the odor immediately hit me, the smell of blood and burnt flesh very strong, almost causing me to gag. Getting to the bottom of the stairs I saw blood pooled up in large puddles around the room, white strange markings covering the walls and the floors below.
I tilted my head, confused as to why all this was here, and what was happening. I walked to the center of the room, sniffing different things that were laying around as if to catch some sort of scent that would help me find the people I was looking for.
"Well well, what do we have here?" Turning around I saw a tall red haired women in a long black robe, her hands across her chest. I growled, baring my teeth as I warned her not to move closer.
"Alpha Lucas, what a total surprise." She said sarcastically, "I actually thought the first step would be much harder, but you ended up exactly where we needed you."
I tilted my head, confused. As she spoke I saw more women walk down the stairs, their hands held together in a long chain. They began chanting, moving off the stairs and in a big circle around me. At this point I could not move, my body completely stone cold and solid. I don't know what they were doing to me, but I tried to mind-linked my pack for help, but to no use as they blocked my communication.
I growled inwardly as they finished their spell. The red haired women walked up to me, putting a solid finger under my chin and stared into my eyes. "After centuries we finally have you. The prophecy can begin." She looked over at her comrades, gesturing upstairs "take their pack next, let them know their Alpha has fallen."
The Witches did as they were told as they laughed and smiled at their victory. They might have won today, but it wouldn't last long...not if I had anything to say about it.
I could hear the roars and the cries of my pack as they thought their Alpha had fallen. I could hear their sorrows pouring through the mine link, but I could not reply. I had no idea what the Witches were going to do with me, but whatever they did I hope they left my pack alone now. They got what they wanted, that should've been enough.
Carefully the other witches that were left over started chanting, my body slowly being lifted off the ground as I floated up stairs with them behind me. They loaded me into a truck, tied me down so I wouldn't move, and drove off...never will I see my pack again, but hopefully they were safe.
