But the son of my father and my half-brother. So, it's better for you to at least treat him with a bit of courtesy. And that's the command for you from the present alpha of Romano pack."
William strongly opposed her opinion and stood beside me in the horrendous cold war going on between us.
I was startled by his action as I never even expected that he would defend me before his own mother! But... It's not his love! It's just the pity and sympathy he has always felt towards me since I was little.
She hissed at me and abruptly turned back, walking away hastily leaving us behind. William stood still for a moment and then turned back at me.
"Don't even think I would fall for your tricks! You are the son of that awful lady... I will never forgive anyone here." I thought silently for a while and walked away hastily towards my room leaving him behind, alone.
He can't change my ruthless nature now... No one can transform me ever again...
Next morning...
It was bright and sunny weather with birds chirping outside. Sherry was so tired and glum that she slept on the floor holding the family portrait in her embrace.
The ray of sunshine was invading her living room and it directly focused on her face, causing her to wake up from her sleep.
Slowly she opened her eyes and found her lying in the hallway all alone, holding the portrait. Her eyes were all soggy as she had been crying out badly the whole night.
Tenderly, she looked at the portrait and harsh reality stood in front of her again. Her eyes were teary and she slowly rolled her hands over the portrait. Few droplets of her silent tears fell down on the picture.
...
Gradually some time passes by and she firmly stands up from the ground. "That's all life is about... It keeps on going, forever and ever..." She mumbled in a broken voice while fixing the portrait back on the wall.
In the meantime, her stomach growled again. She touched her abdomen and sighed heavily. "Damn, I completely forgot about breakfast. I also need to find a job as sooner as possible."
She was mumbling nonchalantly while heading straight to the kitchen. Suddenly, her eyes were stuck on her mobile kept on the corner table of the living room which was blinking continuously. Perhaps it was due to her careless habit of keeping it in silent mode.
Hastily she strolled to her phone and picked it up. She flinched while gazing at the notification. There were 250 missed calls and 100 messages unread.
Most of the calls were from her childhood best friend and worker in a software company, Clara, whom she trusts the most in this world after her family.
With a deep sigh, she dialled back.
(Phone ringing)
"Hello?" A perplexed voice immediately answered her call as she was intensely waiting for her call.
"Clara--"
"Where the f*ck you have been? Oh Gosh, it's just been 2 days since I am out of the town for the business tour, but what the f*ck has been happening around you? I was about to die in stress, yesterday." She grumbled fiercely at her over the call.
Sherry was looking outside the window with a blank gaze in her eyes. "Did you hear about Felix?" She inquired.
Clara was quiet for a moment. With a deep breath out, she proclaimed, "ye-yes. It was all over the news and also on *Facebook. I am actually spellbound.
My heart just shattered into pieces with the news... But where the hell you have been from yesterday? I was worried sick for you!" She complained.
Sherry was awfully numb while staring outside the fenestration. "Everything has been messed up from yesterday. I was so emotionally broken that even I thought of taking away my own life." She quivered.
"What? What did you do Sherry?" She shrieked in anxiety.
She was silent for a while and breathed out in a huff. "I just thought death will be the easiest way to cope up with the surreal loss, so I jumped before a huge car with my mind completely blank.
But suddenly, someone gripped me tightly by the waist and miraculously saved me from the brink of death just like a divine angel." With a glum voice, she answered.
Clara was startled by her confrontation. "Who was he? And how did he save you?" She sounded curious.
Sherry frowned her face as she started to recall the bittersweet memories of last night. "It felt like he just took a huge flight in the air and jumped on the opposite side of the huge Del Corso street holding me in his arms.
Everything happened in a fraction of a second and it felt like a dream! He had a hideous gesture, but I just took a glance at his eyes... They didn't seem to be of a normal human..." She was mumbling nonchalantly while gulping down some water. Her face appeared too fretful.
Clara seemed quite worried about her situation and she sighed deeply.
"But another strange matter happened to me. While I was heading back home last night, I met another creepy punk who was almost gawking at me cryptically.
And the most peculiar part, he was mystically aware that I was about to commit suicide and someone saved me. And that punk tried to steal the credit from my actual saviour. It was bullshit behaviour. I was so pissed off n him that I almost threw a punch." Sherry continued.
" Sherry, perhaps it was a mere passerby who wanted to harass you. Things are being really awful with you but I think it was indeed an angel who helped you at the last moment.
There are indeed mythical creatures living on the earth for a long period but people seem to take them as rumours. But there are many mysterious phenomena that even scientists fail to explain the reasons behind it.
