Well, I don't know who was but I am eternally thankful for that guy." Her voice sounded quite wistful.
Sherry fidgeted for a moment with her answer and raised up her chin to stare at the sky. "Clara, I still feel that I am just having a terrible nightmare. I can't accept reality. I just can't..." Her voice seemed to be choked in pain as she couldn't utter her complete words.
" Sherry, I am gonna come back to you in 2 days. Please bear with me till then, I will be really back very soon. Please never attempt such horrible deeds again. I know you are really strong, you will survive this battle." She tried to console her in a glum-husky voice.
Sherry slightly nodded her head and gave a cold response. Soon after, she disconnected the call and headed back to the kitchen at a slow pace. She seemed quite hungry due to depression.
"I wish, I could meet you once again... I wanna see you.." She wondered silently with a deep sigh.
Romano Mansion:
It was 10.30 am. Sherry was already dressed up in a black office suit with a white full sleeve shirt tucked inside. He was radiating a sparkling handsome aura around himself.
But the most difficult he always faces while dressing up was during putting up the necktie. The tie seemed a bit crooked while he was adjusting the knot near the dressing mirror.
His black shimmering hair was wet and he flipped it on the upper side to capture the appearance of a badass and dapper CEO.
As he finished up, slowly he grabbed the car keys and walked outside the room with gallant steps. While strolling downstairs, he peeked at the breakfast table placed over the dining hall.
As usual, all the seats at the table were empty. None of the family members prefers to grab their meal altogether at the dining hall. He has been always habituated to eating alone.
A few butler and maids were waiting for Sherry at the breakfast table and as soon as he came, they bowed earnestly.
With a wistful sneer, he grabbed his seat on the table. He was served with French toast, along with scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, bacon, and lamb's liver. Slowly he picked up the crockery and started chomping the liver first.
"Have you already started eating?"
An impish and quite familiar voice interrupted his meal. He seemed a bit agitated.
Roger came walking close to the table and ogled at him with a cryptic sneer. "Good morning, my dear brother." He greeted.
William didn't raise his head to look at him and sighed deeply. "Why are you here? What do you want now?" A cold voice from him reverted his greeting.
Roger seemed a bit offended by his cold response and pouted. "Gosh, I just wanted to join you for the breakfast today."
He pulled out a chair beside him and took his seat with a sly grin. William was quite suspicious of his answer and he peeked a glance at him.
"You are having lamb's liver? Damn, I am craving some meat too..." He nagged in a mellow tone and turned his head towards the butler. "Mr. Piero, do you have some fresh raw meat? If not, then bring some lamb liver for me." He directed the butler in a dense voice.
William gasped at his cryptic behaviour while frowning his eyebrows. "You can stop pretending your brotherly love. Why you are here?" He inquired him again.
Roger smiled with a spooky expression and rolled his eyes. "Well, I just felt that perhaps I had been extremely rude towards you, last night. So, I wanted to make up for my behaviour with a brotherly breakfast.
And, I am indeed craving some raw meat... I guess, the lady we met last night, would have been a delicious one!" He licked his lips with a devilish gaze and conveyed his words to him.
Immediately William slammed the table loudly surprising everyone present there. Roger smirked with his reaction as he was getting amused.
"I have already warned you, Roger. Stay away from her... She has nothing to do with your malicious cravings!" His threat sounded quite hoarse as he was frowning his eyebrows while speaking.
In the meantime, fresh raw beef arrived for Roger and he abruptly chomped on it with his strong canines, which tore a huge chunk of meat into slices.
"Ahh, I enjoy your reaction so much, big brother. But, are you her certified bodyguard? Why do you even bother?" He was uttering in an unclear voice.
William averted his gaze and sighed with agitation. "I don't bother about that lady but I absolutely don't want her to be a victim of your fiendish cravings.
You have already taken away the lives of countless innocent people. As the alpha of our pack, I can't let you commit more heinous crimes." He sounded quite stern.
Roger smirked with his response and continued chewing the raw meat. "But, you too have taken away the lives of several humans including werewolves.
So, isn't it a crime for you too? You get to let away with anything as you are the alpha of the pack?" He instigated the conversation into a heated argument.
William chomped some lamb's liver with a tense expression on his face and was silent for a few minutes. "I have killed every creature whoever has tried to harm our pack, that's the duty of an alpha.
Don't compare my responsibility with your cheekiness." He grumbled.
Roger finished off his breakfast and rubbed his lips gently with a silk napkin. "I have another important topic to ask you, we are short on interns for the company.
Should we hire some interns?" He was ogling him with his grey intense eyes during asking.
William turned his face towards him. "Didn't we hire 2 new ladies as interns last month?" He reverted back to his question.
Roger gently stood up from the seat with a spooky grin.
