The girl representing the chief guest of the party approached in a vintage dress and recognized her call.
Her skip a beat as her ears lost the surroundings whispers as the ring of the call vibrated into her ears.
"MA......mother…"
This was the precious one word that split out of her lips as tears began to flow down her cheeks.
She dropped whatever was in her palm. Flowers, trophies, gifts, juices.
All this was nothing compared to the call that she just heard.
She crossed through the crowd as her eyes finally saw her.
After so long, her eyes finally found the coolness of her heart.
Her morning sunlight and her dream were long gone.
She rushed with all her might to a lady standing at the corner of the hall who stood there stretching her hands wide open in tears.
With her breath choking and tears falling down her cheeks, her feet's pushing her strength away, the girl dashed and jumped to her mother's embrace bursting into tears of relief.
Her mother hugged her crying in silence, however, this girl who brought victory and pride to the family always showed herself strong and never faltered by anything was turned into a child who cries in the arms of their mother during the scary night.
"My mother never abandoned me," said the girl with glitters in her eyes, "at that time my mother openly announced to everyone that this girl was her real daughter who was lost for three years and six months."
There was a sudden shock in bewilderment in the hall.
All those who thought she would be their eternal weapon.
All those who thought she would be their power source.
And all those who were greedy for the beauty, power, wealth, and strength she provided….
Their dreams were shattered into pieces.
The Friction Family couldn't bear this anymore. They thundered on the woman like a monster and began to quarrel with her.
Soon the cheering hall was converted into a hot field of fire.
There an argument rose at the party between the mother and the party's owner in returning Scala to them.
They fought with her that this girl was a slave and they brought in the grand prize.
They shouted that she was their fortune and wealth and they deserves her.
On the other side, the mother did not fall under their feet. She didn't fear or cry for mercy. She stood firm, listening to everyone in full concentration without speaking a single harsh word against them.
Knowing what happened to other and how they got her was her biggest priority but, letting them take her away was a great crime in her eyes.
This mother stood like a mountain, hardening her arms around her lost daughter in rock arms as though she would attack anyone who tried snatching off her daughter.
She was boiling in rage, however; her expression was as cold as ice not fighting with a member.
"This girl is mine." She said politely, "Scala is my daughter. I would not let anyone take away from me even though you people try cropping off my arms to get her.
As a mother, it is my sis ore duty in protecting her. And no one can dare to side me away…"
This was the reply she gave to all the Friction Family.
The mother knew very well the status level differences between her and the family who were arguing with her.
Thus, keeping her calm was her only solution.
"Suddenly, someone attacked my mother with a slap on her face." Narrated Scala as fear was trembling her voice, "But, my mother did not shake a bit."
A wife of a rich man interrupted the argument as she couldn't bear this wall, she rushed up and slapped the mother.
At this point, everyone was going to be prepared for a fight inside the party hall.
Strengths were out and guns were caught. Everyone wanted to see what will happen next.
They waited for the start button to press and the blood would start shedding inside the luxury hall.
Everyone's life was on the line.
Soon, the victory party was going to turn into a corpses party.
But, to everyone's surprise, the mother didn't speak a word. She didn't scream, she didn't cry none did she yell.
Instead, she pulled her daughter to her side facing her with her face, and spoke, "I am firm in my words.
I won't change. This girl is mine and that's all I have."
The mother's statements surprised the entire hall out of their skin.
Not just this mother was concerned about her daughter but also the security of the wide hall.
In her view, all children would be massacred in cold blood.
She knew she would be the fault due to which she kept her manner in control.
This mother was way too strong in her duty that the wide hall full of the resolution family threw their respect for her.
It was awesome to see how strong the mother was as the concept goes, she was still a woman.
Her daughter who was stuck to her body could hear dumps.
Dumps as loud as drum beats, vibrations of muscle, and whistles of fear.
Her daughter Scala heard all the weakness, her mother was hiding from the world. She heard her screams and cry of terror which all mothers have when they see their children being tortured.
She was close to her thus, she learned how scared her mother was in reality.
No idea for what?
Whether for losing her daughter?
Or getting attacked?
Or for failing in front of the draggers?
All she knew could say was that her mother did want to leave her.
"Mama…." cried the girl on her mother as she could see the bravery her wall was fighting for her.
Viewing this, though it was just between a family and mother however brought a great impression to the other families of the resolution.
This day was marked as a real lesson for all. It could be shown how strongly CAN a real parent fight for the sake of their children.
For parents like her, wealth, status, money, fame, power, ability, and pride was nothing compared t her children.
Children were the most precious thing in this world.
Scala went on with narrating,
"My mother's reaction drown a lot of people's feelings as most of them smiled at this shifting their expression from stares.
In a swift minute, the whole hall was broken by this part there were the other families who knew me, and to whom I belonged were my Flora-X Family, White Soul family, and Herbal Family. They stood as a firm wall between me and them.
They fought for me to return requesting humbly to return me to my mother.
I don't mean to say anything wrong about others but, I am telling the truth.
I am grateful to everyone for keeping me with them. If it wasn't for them back there I wouldn't be standing here right now.
They stood in front of me and my mother like Nobles requested a King to let a slave return to her family.
It was due to them that I won my mother.
I am greatly honored to have a great and supportive family like theirs.
At that time, I was relieved that my suffering was ended from tyrant hands and I could return to the warm lap of my mother."
At present, Scala's background dropped the hall in pin-drop silence.
No one breathed or blinked upon hearing this.
Even the generation of the Families lost their speeches to protest against her.
Her words were stronger than the foolish protest they were about to begin.
Keeping their silence was the only great option to give her the respect that she needs.
On the podium, The Sectaries were saddened for her while the eight Principles were surprised about her when the Lord broke the silence,
"I truly apologize for making you recall your dark past. I forced you into it."
"Sir, don't mention it" bowed the decent girl "we have to break through to stand up for the truth.
Just like our Honorable Principle of Mysteries mentioned that it's beautiful behind the mystery walls and that is the reality."
This made the elders smile to see how attentive a student she was.
"One more question," asked the Lord with aim of encouraging her "why didn't the original generation know about you?"
"Sir, I was hidden from the world." replied the lady directly "I became a secret for all the family that stood for me.
Together with help of my father, the families established a group which was called the circle of guardians.
It counted all the families whose blood ran in me including the Taming family, they too join to the circle of guardians after they learned the truth.
I told them about their lost son whom I was grateful to him to live up to this day.
I told them about him and how he encouraged me to live till the end.
How he cared for me and how he used to stay by my side.
My thank to him was what made the Family accept into their party.
They also added me as their daughter who was greeted anytime into their mansion along with my mother.
About my secret, it was a deal not to be shared about, even with the children to stop arguments and violence among each other."
Why she reappeared again was to learn and grow.
Though it was to let her stay till the age of twenty within the zone of secret, however, the mother insisted to send her out to this school in hope of a good future.
Her mother confessed to the father and guards that if the girl doesn't make it out to the school, she won't be able to make decisions on time.
She might face trouble and later learn to solve the solution.
The mother believed that this school would make her active in her mind.
By the end of the story, her explanation relieved the generation of the Families as they smiled accepting her.
"You are a truthful girl with a decent heart." praised the Lord on her decision to step out just for knowledge.
"My hands are empty from thanking you all for sending me the invitation to this school" bowed the girl in respect.
Her manners showed a high and promising student that all the teachers would be honored to teach.
"Gaining good grades is the only thanks that a teacher can accept." Said the Lord giving her a hint to thank her teachers rather than feel empty-heartedarted for them.
"I will work hard to reach your expectations" spoke the girl.
"You also have a sister, right?" asked the Lord with a friendly voice.
"Yes, I do. From the Herbal Family." She answered with obedience and calm.
"I am sure she will admire you." concluded the Lord his conversation and the girl bowed thanking him who her heart.
She said that she was relieved to be clarified about her status from the first start of school.
If it wasn't for the Lord's quick action about clearing the confusion about the family.
If he would have simply left her by just introducing her family and identity who knows what harsh, bully, and insults she would have had to face during her school days.
This girl was very grateful to the Lord as she bowed thanking him over and over and then left.
The Lord felt disheartened for her.
Being at such a young age she had to go through death-level fate, such desperate times, and live a life of disgrace but, still, she want to live and fight through the tough times by preserving.
Surely preserving is hard but in the end, it's always fruitful.
"How awful and cruel our fate sometimes can be?" he commented.
