As the saying goes with every bright light there is a shadow.
The same complexion played here.
Even though, the elders were the only ones who knew of her hidden ability and powers, sharing her with no one her jewel tragically, among them the shadow creature kidnapped her and dragged her away from the family.
In the plot of selling her with a grand price just for building his fortune, she took her far off her hometown.
He traveled lands and villages for servals days and nights as she was sacked up in the cart with no food and water.
Once he arrived in a lost town, she was imprisoned among other little children who were smuggled from different places, nearby houses, and villages, all trapped in the menu of draggers.
In the hands of evil, Scala had to suffer, and bear. The evil people would sometimes hit her and sometimes they would force her to slave for them on their table.
This little girl had to keep a fake hope that someone will save her.
With just the promise that her mother made her, back there, it was the only glow that made her stay alive.
Due to this hope, she could see the next sunrise, carrying out her day not bothering of the same treatment repeated against her.
One night, in the prison where the children were kept for sale, a boy came to her support. He had dull eyes with black bags darkening his hue.
But, he was kind and caring as he took in his hands the responsibility of food, injuries, and rest for Scala.
Out of nowhere he came up and supported her every day. He Helped her eat by sharing his food.
He helped her clean her wounds and sometimes stayed awake overnight for her until the girl met siesta.
Scala was puzzled about this boy and why had he come just for her, not the other children who were much smaller than her.
Once she tried asking him his name but, he refused to let her know a letter from it.
In the following day Scala began to feel some hope and strength in her just by his care.
Here she asked him why was he only both bothered caring for her.
The boy gave out a confident answer that he felt as though, she would be the one to live on sadly, he had no chance of surviving.
If he was just going to end up here, why not help others to live?
This stunned her. Scala argued with him to keep hope, revealing to him her reason which was her mother's promise.
She told him that her mother would come to save her.
On that day, she will request mama to take him along too.
"You would become a member of my family.... was what I marked for him that day." narrated Scala,
"I was happy that I would finally get a brother. It didn't matter to me whether he was a step or an adapted...…" smiled the girl but then it fated as she continued, "However..."
Tragically, the boy refused her offer.
He turned her hopes down and requested her to stop making up frictions.
When asked why such hopelessness. He gave out a horrid reason.
He and Scala were from two different parties who will soon be selling their products for business.
However, jealous people are everywhere.
Party A which was Scala's party was secretly poisoning Party B's products means the boy. He knew he was eating a slow poison that would kill him in a couple of weeks thus, he didn't want to die alone but, leave behind someone he had cared about.
Soon he and a few other children would die leaving their beloved to wait for them eternally.
But, on the bright side, the boy was happy for taking care of her. He told her that he had huge power within him.
This made him regret that it would be gone along with him leaving his powers useless into this place.
Here came her turn, Scala shared her secret with him about her real father's ability and she possessed it within her.

This scandalized the boy however, it suddenly also made him laugh and cry at the same time not understanding how to react in emotion.
Confidence in last wish appeared in him.
He carried great hopes and requested her to clear his body from his powers and let him die as a normal human.
At least someone would make use of it.
He was satisfied that he would die with the relief from the promise that she will make it stronger.
There was no other option.
Scala granted his last wish in tears the sorrow of abandoning him.
That night, he died right after dinner along with thirty other prisoners.
As Scala analyzed his power, she fond out that this boy was from the Taming Family.
