Our parents frantically fled into the depths of an island, leaving us twins in the care of this enormous bird known as Blacky. They are genuinely working vigorously in order to give us a baby sibling.
As my twin sister, Freya, experienced these wonderlands and boundless oceans, she hooked up to play and explore everything around her with devotion.
And looking at her unbridled enthusiasm, the child within me that never truly got to enjoy childhood in my previous life, throbs, and wakes up keeping with my sister's trail, playing games together.
I truly enjoyed playing out to my heart's content, enjoying the wonders of mother earth. From collecting seashells with my sister to splashing seawater at each other, from running with waves to laughing together like idiots, from a futile effort to swim in this minuscule body to defend myself from my sister's genotype assault, I adored every movement that filled my empty heart with life.
And with a heart filled with warmth, all my negative emotions from my past life that were submerged deep inside my soul, emotions of being betrayed and killed, emotions of rage, fury, and anger towards this society, and worst of all, emotions of despair, sorrow, misery... and loneliness of living and dying alone followed by endlessly drifting in desolation, all these pent-up negative emotions started to disappear like stone submerged into the deepest ocean.
But soon my small body succumbed to lethargy and exhaustion due to all the playing around I did with my twin sister. But surprisingly, her posture was still brimming with endless energy and her mood was to play more and explore nature.
And the Blacky bird was standing in front of us, his body partially submerged in water, blocking all the enormous waves headed in our direction, protecting us from endless seas and any unforeseen danger. His yellowish eyes were glued to us, a glimmer of curiosity glinting in those piercing eyes, observing our every move.
Seeing him capable of human speech, I wanted to communicate with him, but because of my slight fear of his gigantic size, I kept my mouth shut.
But to my sister, every creature is equal. She played around with no fear and even pulled out some of his hair.
But the question is, when will she get content and stop playing?
I initially enjoyed everything, but now all I want is to sit on my butt and have a drink.
"Freya, let's go towards mom and dad," I asked my sister, looking at the cold sea waves rising and draining continuously.
As she jumped around and ran along the waves, my sister replied, "I want to play more, play more."
Sigh!
I sighed because I knew she would not change her mind.
"Then how about we build a sand castle?" I tried different approaches so that I can just sit and have fun.
But all in vain, as she is a restless child, unable to sit still for a single movement unless she sleeps. And as a brother, I have a responsibility to look after her, leaving me with no other option but to postpone my rest.
She ran along the waves, finding seashells, her feet coated with sea sand, getting washed by waves as she ran amok, followed by a booming sound in my eardrums...
A Sound?
As I tracked and looked toward the source, I saw Blacky, who was blocking the sea waves, suddenly spread his wide wings and flapped them inside the water. With the flapping force, water disperses, creating waves that nearly drown us in the ocean.
A sense of fear grew inside me as all the hair on my body stood still, with my survival instinct, which was enhanced because of human evolution, kicking in.
With a hurried reaction and swift movement, I held my sister's hand with a stringent grip and forcefully dragged her out of the seawater. As we landed on shore, my instinct screamed at me to run far and faster, but because of resistance from my sister, I could not conquer any further.
A booming sound like drums echoed inside my eardrums, as I whirled around, taking in the full picture...
Blacky was flapping his wings, creating waves along with the strong wind. As I observed the details, I saw something jumping out of the sea, dashing in our direction with high velocity.
But before it reaches us, it is cut in half, dying instantly on the spot.
Followed by the second and then the third. As I took in more details, I saw their shape. They were meter-long fishlike creatures with wings to fly and teeth as sharp as knives.
They jumped out of the sea and headed right in our direction, but Blacky, standing in the path, flapped his wings, with each flap of the wing generated sharp enough to cut any fish that emerged from the sea.
With wind force, fish have been torn apart, and blood splashes, dyeing the seawater a bloody red.
Blacky glanced at us and roared in high peach and using human speech, "Run inside," while simultaneously destroying dozens of fish with a single flick of his wings.
"Freya, please run with me." I plead as I tighten the grip, attempting to drag her by sheer force.
But she resisted, activating her genotype and creating a strong wind barrier to block my road. As I looked at her with anger visible on my countenance, she just laughed, ignoring my anger. With a tone of excitement, she spoke, "Brother Olorun, I want to play with fish."
And before I could retort, she sprang out of my grasp by overpowering me, dashing straight into the bloody sea, encircled by a bunch of flying, deadly, meter-long fish.
I snapped at her, yelling loudly, but she ignored my voice, dashing towards the dangerous sea without showing even the least sign of fear.
Fuck!
I wanted to follow her, but my instinct screamed of danger, my body reacted to the situation, and my legs trembled, and fear accumulated in my heart screamed out to just give up—give up on my sister.
