A carriage could be seen riding in the woods heading towards an abandoned shrine many miles away from civilization. This journey had began a few hours ago and now it was finally coming to a conclusion.
"Here, I will stop right here."
"But my Lady..?"
"You heard me Elven, I will be dropping off here," Vienna told her carriage rider once again, but this time in a demanding tone.
Stopping at the spot as ordered, he could not help but stare at the abandoned shrine in front of him. This place was once a sight to behold but now it was nothing but pure dirt and rubble. The details of how this had happened was still unknown, however he was sure of one thing, that this place was freaky.
Vienna dropped down from the carriage before heading towards the shrine's steps. Walking up the stairs she observed the desolate environment with an indifferent expression. She knew herself why she was here, and it was a matter of outmost importance, not just to Ryder but for her as well.
After a few minutes of walking around the place, her eyes dropped upon a cloaked figure sitted close to a pile of rubble. This pile of rubble now laid where an altar in the shrine once dwelled.
"Is this what it has come to? Living in a desolate shrine was your best option!? To be honest I have to say I am disappointed in you Brenna."
"How did you find me?"
"Well that was easy, I know all about your family history. Because I did, it didn't take to long to figure out where you were."
"What do you want, Vienna!?"
"What else, I am here to bring you back home."
Brenna would bring down her hood and laugh before turning to face Vienna. Her expression instantly turned to one of disdain when their eyes locked before saying what was on her mind.
"We both know you were never that type of person. You are probably here to kill me for betraying Master Ryder's trust, right?"
"Oh, you know me so well," Vienna stated with a chuckle. "However I am really here to take you back home on Master Ryder's order. We both know I can't harm you unless he commands it."
Brenna would haste for a while before pulling out her spear to face the threat in front of her. This was no surprise to Vienna as her and Brenna had always had bad blood between one another. Brenna was someone that couldn't quite accept change and Vienna welcomed it when it showed it's head. That was why she was not surprised in any way when she found out about Brenna's actions. This difference was one of the reasons why these two could not cope with one another.
"Oh come on. We don't need to fight," Vienna said with an expression that said otherwise.
Wasting no time to go on the offensive, Brenna used her spear to shoot out multiple light rays, however they were blocked by some kind of mystical shield that appeared from thin air. This caused Brenna to shudder at the sight in front of her.
"Brenna stop this, you can't beat me talk more of even harm me. It is best you stop this futile struggle."
This only made the spear wielding hothead create multiple magic circles, empowering herself with magic and physical abilities. To this Vienna would only smack her head awaiting the attack about to come.
Brenna rushed towards her enemy with her spear at terrifying speeds, throwing it with all her might. This would prove to be futile as it was stopped in place by the same mystical shield from earlier. Before the spear could fall to the floor, Vienna caught it in mid air and slammed it on the floor.
"What is that thing..!?" Brenna knelt to the ground dumbfounded.
"Well this is the first time we have faced each other to be honest, so I am not surprised by your reaction. However some things are meant to be kept a secret."
After these words, she would walk to Brenna, handing over the spear to her.
"But why?"
"I already told you, I was sent here just to bring you back home. It may have been a different story though if I was here on my own accord."
The two became awkwardly silent for a minute as they awaited the action of the other, though this would end with Brenna expressing how she felt about her current situation.
"I can't go back..."
"I am fine with not seeing your face again but, Why not?"
"I have been with him for a long time, longer than any of you yet I couldn't tell it was Master Ryder all along, my own fiance. If it wasn't for his immortality he would be... I can't let that happen again."
Giving out an audible sigh, Vienna gave her a reason to reconsider her thoughts.
"Brenna, if you really want to make it up to him, you should be there for him. That's the only advice I can give you.."
Just then, a glimmer of hope shone in her eyes for a second, however it reverted back to a disappointed glance when Vienna spoke once again.
"Haha, did you see what I did there? I rhymed for a second, didn't I!?" She held her chest to control her laughter.
Brenna didn't hate this though as it actually helped lighting up the mode, something that was very much needed at the moment.
"Though I won't force you against your will. Whatever your choice will be, I am fine with it. Besides if you never come back, it just means that I will be Master Ryder's first wife. Something that I very much deserve."
Taking about five steps away, Vienna would eventually come to stop before asking a question Brenna never expected.
"By the way, from what I heard, you believed that Master Ryder was acting strange. Would you mind telling me the details of what happened?"
This question caused countless things to run through her mind, however the most important one was whose side was she exactly on?
