The next day, early in the morning, Ryder could be seen laying on his bed asleep. This didn't last too long as he began to tumble from side to side on his bed, sweating bullets. This occurred for about ten minutes before his eyes shot open. Just then he gave a breath of relief, seeing that everything was fine. However everything changed when he noticed his second fiancee, Vienna, staring firmly at him.
He would have seen this as something he should have expected if her face was not only an inch away from his. It didn't take more than a few seconds before he became bright red with embarrassment.
"What are you doing in my room.." Ryder asked as calmly as he possibly could.
"Oh, I was just here to check up on my fiance. Is there anything wrong with that?" an evil grin crossed her face.
Seeing this a thought rushed through his mind as he shivered only for a second.
'Why do I feel like she was here for a dumb ulterior motive.'
Ryder quickly tried to sit up straight only to be held in place by the surprisingly strong psycho.
"What are you doing..?"
"I already told you. I am here to check up on you," she stated running her hand through his chest.
At the moment, he could not deny that he felt kinda good.
"Seems you were having a hard time sleeping, do you need company?"
Just then Ryder's head felt like exploding, however for a brief second he remembered it was a bad idea.
'Is that her definition of checking up on me... Why couldn't my fiancees be normal people!?'
"Nah, I am fine. So tell me exactly why you came over," Ryder asked faking a serious expression.
Vienna seemed to take the hint as she stood up from his bed and became serious as well. She didn't have to say a word though as her head tilting to the door told the whole story.
Behind the door, he could she a familiar shade of red hair which caused him to widened his eyes in disbelief. At first he thought he was still dreaming, but that changed when Brenna stepped into the room.
"Brenna..!" Ryder spoke almost shouting before looking downwards with a hurt expression.
For some reason, been stabbed in the heart did not sit so well with him. The two fiancees noticed this and felt like he couldn't really be blamed for feeling this way.
"I brought her back just as you requested," Vienna said breaking the awkward silence that loomed over the room. "I have ordered the servants to prepare dinner, we will be waiting for you at the dinning room."
Just then the two turned around leaving as quietly as they had arrived. Ryder was shocked to see Brenna back so early, to be honest he thought it would have taken some months before she returned.
'Wait..what!..dinner!?'
Previously Ryder had refused to eat in front of anyone in order to avoid any form of suspicions that could arise from mannerisms. Now that this had happened there was no way for him to escape.
With several maids entering into the room with another different set of clothes, Ryder prepared to fight them fiercely for his right to cover his shame from their eyes.
"Damn it, not again.."
Coming out from a tough battle a few minutes later, Ryder sighed as he straightened up his clothes. While doing this though, he could not help but whisper things to himself with a wary expression.
"Why do I have to suffer like this? Is it me or those maids are becoming harder to fend off.... I need to do something about them."
His train of thought was cut into pieces when he saw the large dinning table once again. Vienna and Brenna were sitting on opposite sides of the table, left and right, glaring at each other as if they would jump into an all out battle any second. Standing close to Brenna was Biscuit, who felt tense about the whole situation as well.
'What the heck is going on over there!? Do they want to fight over the fried chicken!?'
Taking a sit right on top, Ryder moved multiple times in his seat attracting the attention of the two. For some reason, deep down he hoped they would continue with their staring contest.
"Glad to see you are here with us Master Ryder," Vienna said right off the bat.
Ryder nodded acknowledging this before moving his sights to Brenna who was still too ashamed to utter a word. After this his eyes would move to the pile of food surrounding the table.
Luckily for him though, during his free time he had gone through one of his books on table manners. The name of the book was called 'Table leveling: Only I can level up your table manners', not that the name mattered to anyone.
Putting some food into his plate, Ryder used the adequate utensils to eat. Though he had began to eat, the other two fiancees had not even begun to set their food.
"Master Ryder, I would say it is strange for you to be eating at this time of the day. Usually you eat at the same time every day no matter what," Vienna stated with a look of suspicion.
Just then Ryder felt like he would cough out his food, but luck was on his side so he managed to swallow. Looking at her, Ryder could not help but feel like he was being interrogated.
"Now that I think about it, you were always left handed. When did you begin to use your right hand so efficiently?" Vienna added to the fire.
These were all questions that he couldn't really answer on the spot so he stared at her for a second before eating his food once again like nothing had happened.
"I don't have to explain myself to anyone," Ryder spoke in a tone that reflected dominance.
Shivers ran down the two fiancee's spines, causing the questioning to end there. The duo would then begin to set their plate with the weirdest expression he had ever seen.
'Mwahahaha! My practice in the mirror worked after all,' Ryder thought with a smile creeping on his face for only a second.
Afterwards they would be quiet, eating their food as intended. Upon finishing his share of food, Ryder felt stuffed, however he overcame this with pure willpower. Heading to his room at a slow pace, he was cut off by Brenna who had said nothing all this while. She was quiet for what felt like a minute before uttering a word.
"Master Ryder, I am sorry for what I did to you. I am sorry for betraying.." Brenna was cut off by a well placed hand on her shoulder.
During that moment, Ryder gave her a look which she understood all to well. This caused tears to run down her cheeks before he brought her in for a hug. The expression she had witnessed was one that told her, she was forgiven for what she did.
Vienna who was by the sidelines, smiled as she witnessed the warm sight. Brenna noticed this quickly and couldn't help but wonder what was in her mind.
After the question that Vienna had asked her in the shrine, she felt as if Ryder would need her by his side. At the moment she wasn't sure what Vienna's goals and motivations were, however she did feel like something was off about her.
Breaking the hug between him and Brenna, Ryder would attempt to leave once again, only to feel the strangest feeling ever. It didn't take too long before he bursted off into a sprint, leaving the building and causing everyone who saw this to open their eyes wide in shock.
"Did I do something..?" Brenna questioned herself.
Vienna on the other hand had an indifferent expression on her face, as she looked at the abnormally swift immortal disappear from her sights.
