Chereads / Skull Bandit / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Al came to, in a room that could only be described as the whitest shade of white. The air in the room had a feeling of pureness that he had never felt before and a sense of euphoria washed over him. He fell to his knees

"What is this place? Wait...could it be." Al questioned to himself

"It is." An angelic feminine voice said.

Al looked up to see a woman floating in midair. She had flawless white skin and her body was engulfed in an array of golden light. She has long straight blonde hair and pupil-less eyes that are completely white.

"Are you an angel?" Al asked trembling in a flood of emotions

"No! I am the mighty goddess Lyri." The woman replied

"Lyri, the giver of life? The Goddess of Fertility? Patron Saint of pregnant women? That Lyri?"

"Who else?"

"I...i...i...I'm at a loss for words. I don't deserve to be in your presence."

"Indeed you don't. A man like you has no place in my kingdom. A murderer, a thief, and torturer. Do you have any idea how many lives you've snuffed out."

"About three dozen."

"If I were to tally all the deaths you're responsible for in some way the final toll would be five hundred forty nine."

"If I'm such a bad guy then why am I in your presence? Why aren't I in the underworld right now?"

"Because I need you for something."

Lyri then landed softly upon the ground, she separated her hands and manifested a sword identical to the Platinum one they had stolen.

"You and your crew broke a cardinal rule. You stole from the Gods. Now you're going to pay." Lyri said

"What are you saying?" Al asked

Lyri touched him on the forehead, Al's flesh began to liquify then evaporate into the air. His eyes liquefied leaving only his skull.

Though his eyes were gone with the help of her divine magic he had perfect vision.

"What do you want from me?" Al cried

"I want you to hunt down every single one of your rotten partners and kill them. Then I'll send you all to hell." Lyri answered

"Why would I do such a thing?"

"Why not they kill you, also if you don't I can just send you to hell right now. So which is it, revenge then damnation or damnation?"

Al hesitated for a moment pondering his options. But to himself and Lyri his answer would be clear as day.

"Revenge." He said

"The only true choice for a bandit." Lyri commented

In a flash of light Lyri was gone, then the realm around all began to develop into pitch darkness. Once he came too he realized he was inside the basement of a bar. He got up directing his gaze to an adjacent mirror. Through the glass was cracked Al could see he was nothing but a skeleton inside his old clothing.

"What is tarnation?" He said to himself

Above him he could hear the rockouness of a party, with many people dancing and getting drunk.

"Guess I might as well take my leave." Al mumbled to himself

He then tucked his hands tightly inside his pockets and began to slowly walk up the staircase. Once he opened the door the mood instantly changed from happy to fearful.

The women in the bar let out blood curdling screams that could shatter glass. The men were struck with an insurmountable case of fear. They were simply paralyzed in their seats as they watched Al walk through the bar in a nonchalant swagger.

The one man who wasn't phased by this sight was the half human half orc bartender who raised a shotgun.

"Hey! Who the Hell are you!?" The barkeep yelled

Al slowly rotated his head and shot the dirtiest of looks at the beekeeper.

The orcish hybrid fell to his knees and his face smashed upon the flood. He was lifeless the moment his knees hit the ground. A young woman looked over the counter at the barkeep

"Ah! He's dead!" She shouted

"Someone get the sheriff!" Another man yelled

The bar was quickly evacuated leaving only Al in there by himself.

"I could get used to this." He boasted
