Al stood firm with his six shooter aimed at the right eye of Malton.
Malton and his boys raised their guns in return.
"You don't want any of this boyo." Al said
"I don't think you know what you're getting into skull boy." Malton said.
"I'm just here to kill the junkie."
"Well you're stepping on our turf."
"I don't care."
"Who are you?" Royer asked, choking back tears.
"You don't recognize the voice of your old friend Royer? The man you betrayed." Al said
"Al?"
"Oh yeah, I'm back from the land of the dead. I also happen to be on a little revenge quest and you're my first stop."
"No Al. We don't have to fight each other. We can team up and kill those fucks and take down Ton all on our own. I'll even pay you."
"There's a price for treachery my friend but it ain't paid in money. It's paid in blood."
Al rapidly fired his pistol into the members of the Warner gang. Malton quickly returned fire. Arn jumped out from under the stairwell and fired a shot. His aim was true and struck Malton before he could pull the trigger again.
Royer swiftly jumped to his feet and ran.
Al retrieved his second pistol and shot Royer in the lower back mere moments before Royer jumped out of the glass window.
Al and Arm looked out the window to see Royer stumbling away in the night. Before either man could fire another shot to take him down for good they received gunfire from a few Warner gang members on the street. A bullet hit Alright in the arm.
"Ah! Gods dammit." He shouted
"Let's get those troublemakers." A man said downstairs.
Al and Arn both looked at stairs as they heard what sounded like an army rushing up stairs.
The two men quickly reloaded their pair of pistols before rushing to the staircase and firing down on their attackers.
Both men let off all the shots in their pistols firing a combined twenty four bullets in the span of five seconds. The half dozen attackers were riddled with lead and their bodies fell upon the staircase and rolled down.
Arn pulled out his rifle and Al pulled out the shotgun he had kept since the Donner Boys raid. Al arrived downstairs first. Warner gang members duck and roll right into view with a pistol. Al was quicker to the trigger and blew a hole through the man's chest. Al continued leading the way. He then blasted his shotgun again after he rounded the corner. He blew the arms off of two attacking gang members who were standing too close to each other.
Arn came down and shot each of the two gang members in the head to make extra sure they were done for. Al continued down the hallway unfortunately for him he took a quick shot to his forehead from a rifle.
Dropped to the ground like a sack of potatoes. Arn quickly shot the man who took down Al. Al then resurrected and switched to his rifle. They then made it to the balcony. Al rounded the corner and fired a few shots from his rifle. Down on the first floor the Warner gang had flipped over tables for cover so his bullets plunged into the table not penetrating fully through the wood.
The Warner gang then all fired a barrage of bullets, Al was struck around thirty times. His body slowly descended to the floor. He got up and instantly mounted the staircase balcony. He forcefully landed on the ground and retrieved his pistols. The same gang member then rose from cover to shoot him.
Al was quicker to the trigger and each one who rose from cover received a nice hot piece of lead. Al didn't come out of this unscathed. A few of the gang members had pulled the trigger on their guns and all had been hit five times. The last guy emerged from the table with a shotgun. He was then struck in the head from on high by Arn who had never left the balcony.
Arn and Al regrouped at the bottom of the staircase.
"That has to be all of them." Al said
Just then a bullet flew right beside Al's knee. Both men looked over to see the doped up gang member from earlier stumbling out of the opium den with his gun barely clenching in his hand. Al took out his shotgun and blew the man's head clean off.
"Now that's all of them." Al said.
Both men then ran to the door,
"Now we have to find that wounded dog Royer." Al added
A bullet then flew through the window. Al looked through the very same window to see a bunch of gang members waiting outside. Three of them were across the street taking cover in a building right beside a lamp post. On Top of that building were two snipers.
Arn took his rifle and fired a shot and struck the lamp post. Sparks then flew everywhere from the lamp post and a fire instantly engulfed the building next door. The men taking cover there were quickly roasted. The snipers atop the roof jumped to their deaths to avoid burning to death.
Al continued shooting, striking the gangsters in the street, Arn fired in return and struck five of them. In mere moments the streets were cleared of gang members.
Al and Arn then finally exited the building. Under the bright light and in the intense heat from the fire they walked alongside each other.
"Well that's just great. This revenge quest just got so much harder. Maas Warner is going to have our heads for this." Arn said
"Relax, we left no witnesses. Maas won't know it was us." Al replied.
# Other Side of Town
Royer stumbled through a crowd of people injured.
"Help!" He cried out.
Most people backed away not wanting to deal with a wounded man knowing that it could mean trouble. Royer then stumbled into a back alley and layed down behind a building. He closed his eyes and slowly started to drift off. He heard the sound of two men approaching him and then he heard the gun cock. Without opening his eyes Royer said
"Just kill me Al. I've got nowhere else to run."
"One question first. Where's Royer and Renme?" Al asked
"I don't know? We don't associate with each other anymore."
"Enjoy the burning fields of hell Royer."
Al pulled the trigger and a hot lead missile forced its way into Royers head and exited out of the other side. Blood and brain matter were all over the wall.
"That's one down." Al said as he and Arn walked off.
