Chapter 4 - The Murk - 2

Following that, Ubel, Herrlich, and Nutzlos continued to converse as if they were long-lost friends who had only recently reconnected.

Ubel, of course, kept up perfectly with their conversation.

Then half an hour passed while they kept talking as if there was no tomorrow. Nutzlos even made some daring moves on Herrlich during the conversation, which amused Ubel, but he didn't make a move on them; thereby making the two sigh in relief that Ubel really didn't mind their relationship.

The previous Ubel was a cold one who didn't pay attention to anyone, and only had Nutzlos, a girl, and another guy as his friends. As such, it was more logical for Ubel to be irritated by the betrayal, or by the thought that one of his best friends became close to him solely to get close to his sister.

But the current Ubel didn't care; and even if he did, he'd get himself into unnecessary plot trouble, which he didn't want. Nutzlos and Herrlich were relieved that he didn't make a big deal out of it, hence their ignorance of the change in Ubel. They would undoubtedly regard Ubel's acceptance of their relationship as strange, but they would eventually come to terms with it.

He was only sixteen at the time, when hormones were active and slightly influencing teenagers' actions. But, because Ubel was simply too old, such things couldn't have any effect on him.

Hence, his actions weren't like those of teenagers. He would always be unreserved.

But since he was in this world for merely an hour or so, no one would notice such a change.

Ubel excused himself and left after the conversation was over.

He would be going to school next, and it would be an experience he hadn't experienced in thousands of years. So, he was surely excited about it. According to his memories, Ubel's friends in this world were three: Nutzlos, the one who ended up with his sister, and a couple of two: Dunkel and Licht.

But what made him actually leave now was due to an event that would be the most important in his plan to forcefully stop the loop.

Ubel put on his hood after leaving the house to avoid being recognized.

Ubel's appearance in this world is as follows; he had silver, straight hair that clumsily adhered to a stern, vivid face. His black eyes, deep within their frame, gave an odd allure to him.

A beard complements his features nicely, giving him a more mature appearance than others his age.

His body was previously normal in comparison to others, but it became hench after the arrival of the new "Ubel."

However, he seemed to have something unique about him. Perhaps it's his benevolent but wicked aura, or perhaps it's just his silver-haired beard. People had a positive impression of him the moment they met him, because his aura was so unique that only two people in this world had it.

He soon arrived at the entrance to a cave. The loop was caused by a major event that repeats itself and is unavoidable due to the artifact's powerful impact on Karma and Time Laws.

The big event was about to take place. The system didn't mention it because it didn't have much of an impact on the main plot; the world would go on as usual without "him" replacing Ubel, if he didn't work with this upcoming event…

He intended to go to school to begin the main plot while also devising another plan to fix this world by fusing the two realities in some way.

However, it seemed that the system remembered that such an important event was about to occur, hence sending him a notice amidst his conversation with his sister and her boyfriend…

[Host, reminder: The system has identified an important point. In just a few minutes, there would be a significant shift in space-time. Please proceed to the location that is about to be mentally transmitted.]

The location was, of course, the cave he'd just left; and the space-time shift would take a minute or two, according to the system.,,

And… He sensed a major shift in space-time laws occurring, just as the system had predicted. Then, from the void, two figures emerged, torn apart by the time-space shift.

When he used his soul sense to see what was going on, he saw two people with a mouthful of blood on the ground.

"Cough... I didn't think that space-time travel would hinder us this much. In any case, where is my father? We should teach him our knowledge as soon as possible. Otherwise, it would be a waste! " One of the two people said, shakily.

"Everything comes at a cost, brother. Now, let's locate him through the Space-Find Spell. " The other spoke up with a shaky voice as well.

Ubel, who was sitting in a meditative pose, was taken aback when he heard the word 'spell' .

'It seems that this world is not as low-leveled as I had assumed.' He continued sitting in a meditative pose, musing with a smile on his face.

One of the two figures was taken aback for a second, before an expression of joy appeared on his face.

"Hahaha! Even the heavens seem to be on our side! Look, Brother Jang! This is our father's location! " One of the two told the other with a bewildered expression on his face. He couldn't believe they were so fortunate to run into their father at the exact moment they appeared! Even the heavens appeared to be on their side!

Jang, after checking the location, also showed a dumbfounded expression on his face.

Then, as if his battery had been recharged, he began to dance around like a small child who had discovered a long-lost friend.

"Jing! Let's go! We must immediately meet our father's younger version! But first, remember not to say anything to him that might cause new timelines to be created as a consequence of our interference! " Jang told Jing, who nodded seriously after hearing him.

Jing then teleported the two a dozen meters away from Ubel using a spatial spell.

After detecting them, Ubel narrowed his eyes slightly and stood up, as if facing some great enemy..

Of course, it was all a ruse. Directly running into them and telling them he was expecting their arrival would be too suspicious.

"As one would expect from our father. He was able to sense us even after using such a spatial spell." Jang told Jing in a hushed tone, and the latter nodded reverently.

Their faces then adapted to a serious expression as they coughed lightly. They then approached Ubel, as Jing began speaking in a serious tone. "We mean no harm to you, mortal. For reasons that remain unknown for the time being, we're simply here to help you on your journey to transcending human limits. However, know that if we wanted to cause you harm, you'd be dead by now. "

Ubel was inwardly surprised. It seemed that their acting was rather good to deceive someone his age.

Albeit he wouldn't be deceived by such a thing, he needed to keep the act going to find out what would happen.

Thus, it appeared as if he had let his guard down, sighed with relief, and then cupped his hands, saying, "Sorry, whoever you are. It's not every day that you come across someone babbling on about exceeding human limits. However disrespectful I may appear, transcending human limits is not something that can be done." He ended with a sigh and a shake of his head.

The two were taken aback, but they remained silent. They threw a pill into Ubel's mouth, who was also taken aback by the sudden turn of events...
