Chapter 21 - Young Master will get drunk on power.

"I am glad young masters appetite is really good." she tells him.

Owen glances at her with a smile and a small 'thank you for the food' before rushing to the study. He picks the book and begins to read chapter two.

The second chapter talked about how the founding human for systems began teaching his other comrades how to manipulate their core. The ten began learning it secretly not wanting to alert the beasts since they were literally practicing a coup. While performing core manipulation, they found out that their system works differently from one another. The founding humans' system seem to work faster while the others developed different energy from their system. The founding human could manipulate water into different forms and use it in different ways, while the rest developed elements like fire, air, soul and even gems. Although it didnt work on a particular human. The number eleventh who had forced the founding human to share the gift with him.

Owen frowns and rushed back to chapter one. He glanced through the whole chapter but saw nowhere it was mentioned that there is an eleventh person. He went back to the chapter and continued to read.

This eleventh human didnt develop any system and decided it was because he had forced the founding human to give him the gift of beast blood as well. Thus, he set up a mission to also drink beast blood and develop his own system. One day, when the beasts gathered the humans to entertain them and make mockery of their slavery, he took a bold step againt the Queen beast and succeeded in biting her. He got to drink her blood but lost consciousness the minute his core absorbed the blood. As usual, they had all thought that it was what happened to the other person who bit the beast out of anger and died that happened to the man. So they had asked his fellow humans to drag him off and throw his body into the Ruda Lake. The beasts felt that it would be punishment to the humans and to their so called Ruda Lake that wouldn't let them near it. The founding human didnt want to agree, and wanted to fight the beasts but the others didn't allow it and they had no choice but to throw the body into the Ruda lake. The beasts held another banquet the next day to celebrate mocking the gods of the Ruda Lake since they had retalited for throwing a dead body into a clean Lake.

Owen flips to the last page and sees that there was barely few words for chapter three of the book. He closed the book and placed it back on the shelf. He then glanced at his AI and shakes his head.

"Ths orgin of this place is so fucked up."

Although he had to agree he was more curious about how beasts turned into humans and the origin of the real beasts.

He smiles, a certain feeling rising up in his chest upon seeing he was getting closer to his goals. Perhaps if he found a faster way to level up, he could be barely to beat the man who had promised to come back in three months. Hopefully, by then he would have passed level two. As he walked out of the library, he got a message from Joy telling him the Taxi man was already around. Owen hurried to the door after bading Aunty Fern goodbye and checks his wrist watch. He still has almost hour to nine, why was the Taxi man in such a hurry?

He got into the car and drove straight to the company, his AI didn't bother making small talks and simply looked out the window. He had noticed that since yesterday when he had absorbed the plant energy, she has been kind of moody and in deep thought. When he was having breakfast just minutes ago, he had caught her staring at him more than twice.

"Is there something on my face?" He nonchalantly asks as he parks the car in parking space in front of his company's building.

His AI shakes her head but there was still something about her that made Owen not believe. She isn't human and he couldn't really say she was bothered by human emotions but she looked worried which made him think perhaps she too has human emotions.

As the walked into the hulding, she finally speaks to him. "I am just worried about young master. You will be completing your first mission today if all goes well."

Owen pretends to wipe his mouth as he hurdidly asks. "And why would you be worried?" Should she not be happy? Afterall, if he levels up, she would also level up.

"I am worried young master will get drunk on power and would cease to know what he is doing. I am worried that your heart will change and you will become a villain."

Owen immediately paused in his steps, forgetting about the environment and people walking around for some seconds. He turns his head towards her and laughs. "You are very funny." She stares ahead at Rosa who was now staring at Owen and it made Owen focus on his environment again. He raised his hand to clear his mouth a little and said. "Just because I level up doesn't mean I will cease to have sense. You don't have to worry." He smiles at Rosa who now seem to be waiting for him at the elevator with her boss and some other people.

When he got close enough he quickly paused as he realised half of the people she stood with were the same set of persons he had seen in the elevator the previous morning and evening wheen he was leaving for work. Owen carefully maneuvers and back walks to the door leading to the stairs.

"Good morning." He greets.

They all respond and Rosa quickly says something to her boss before walking to him. "You are taking the stairs? Why?"

He opens the door leading to the stairs and she follows him. "I am planning to lose some weight." He simply replies.

Rosa scoffs and pokes his back making a slight jolt of electricity run through his spine. "Really? Or are you avoiding the elevator to avoid losing energy in your system?"
