He had almost reached the second floor when she said this, making Owen pause in his steps. Rosa's forehead collided with his back as he sudenly stops moving. He turns around, his eyes suspicious and stares at her.
"What should that mean?"
Rosa searches his suspicious expression and chuckles. "Why do you look like that? I am only saying that because I have a friend from floor seven who doesn't take the elevator too. She has a system and she claims it drains her energy everytime she takes the elevator."
Owen had questions to ask her but at the moment his mind was focused on one thing. Something he didnt wnat to miss. With his energy he rushed up the stairs leaving Rosa shocked and with no option but to walk back to the elevator. Owen hurries to the fourth floor and waits in front of the door that leads to the stairs.
"What are you doing?" His AI questions when she sees him position his phone in his pocket in a way that would capture the people on the elevator.
"Just wait and see." When he heard the ding of the elevator, he pretend to just be coming from the stairs and let's his phone capture the people on the elevator. He smiles at them and walks back to the stairs.
"What was that?"
He quickly brings out his phone and settles on of the steps. "The same persons were present yesterday morning when I had my energy taken and were also present in the evening. Deducting Rosa who I am safe around, I limit the person to this plump mam, her boss, her lanky Colleague who mistenkly tapped my wrist yesterday morning, their boring looking secretary and the man that owns the seventh floor." His AI wasn't getting why he was explaining and didn't bother hiding it. Owen rolls his eyes and explains. "The man that opens the seventh floor will be eliminated because Rosa claims her friend works there. If whatever bad enrgy I feel is from the seventh floor, then Rosas friend would have long quit."
Upon releasing what he meant, she nods her head and adds. "That leaves us with the sixth floor."
"And the elevator itself. What if there is something in the elevator that drains peoples energy."
"Wouldn't you have noticed it when you still had the crap system?"
Owen raised a brow at her sentence and she awkwardly smiles at him. "We would never know."
"Unless you go to the sixth floor and check."
Owen rises to his feet and continues up the stairs. "No thank you. I don't have energy to give off to some haunted stuff stealing energy."
His AI chcukles and didnt say a thing. She felt that it must be something wrong with the sixth floor. Rosa had mentioned yesterday evening that their plants don't live long.
When Owen got to his floor, Joy was moving around amd was surprised to see him appear from the door leading to the stairs.
"Good morning. You didn't take the elevator?"
Opehlia heard Joy's voice and moves closer. "Good morning Boss."
Owen smiles at them. "Good morning to you too. No joy, I plan on losing weight."
Joy gave him a weird look before lowerimg her voice and saying. "The Taxi man jas bebe here for some time now. He looks quite impatient."
Owens eyes cleared and lit up when she said this. He quickly walks past Joy and into his office.
Joy turns to Opehlia and asks. "Am I the only one who thinks je is excited about this taxi man?"
Opheloa simply shrugs her shoulders and walks away.
When Owen got to his office he met the Taxi man seated on the couch patiently waiting while staring out the window. The minute the man noticed him? He quickly got on his feet and smiles at Owen.
"Good morning Mr Duurm."
"Good morning to you too. Slept well?"
The man sighs, his gaze lowering to stare at the marveled floor. "Not at all. I was too excited knowing I would once again get to see my wife."
Owen offers for him to sit and walks to his desk. He brings put the HM card he had found the day before and the information Boss A had given of the woman.
"If I may ask, what happened with your wife?"
The man deeply sighs and lowers his head. In a sad tone he tells Owen. "It is all my fault. I couldn't provide enough for her as a husband should. I couldn't even properly take care of our daughter." He shakes his head and Owen felt uncomfortable sitting there and watching him about to burst into tears. "She must have been frustrated. I promised her the world."
He felt pity for the man. "Why woukd you promise someone that whole world when you can't even have it yourself?"
The mans shoulder shook slightly as he spoke. "I love her so much."
"Your wife is working at a high end club. I am not sure if you know House of Maniac, it is an elite and inside club. Not many people can have access to it."
The task mans eyes turned slightly slim. "Oh...I see." The woman as been enjoying behind his back.
He streched out the card to him and the man takes it. "That is the entry card you are to show to the security. It will allow you to access anyone and anywhere in the House of Maniac. I hope you will see your wife soon." Owen rises to his feet and the taxi man does the same few seconds later.
He extends hus hand out to the man with a smile on his face. His eyes seemed to have turned around and there was a little slimming of the white in it. It made Owen take a step backward, as he stares at the mans white eyes.
"Mr Duurm, I will help you full your mission."
"What?"
"What?" The man asks his eyes back to normal as he stared at a shocked Owen.
Owen realised the man must have not known what he was saying.
"Nothing." He man thanks him again before leaving his office.
Owen stares at the door and his AI made a clicking sound with her mouth. "Man knows not the beginning of doom nor the beginning of his end."
