The gods want us gone
When Owen was about six, the author had written that his father had brought home a set of knife and had told Owen specifically to not go near the knives. But he did anyway. Maybe it was the way the sharp object shone or the way it was forbidden to him, it made him crave it more. Even when something told him he could hurt himself and to listen to his father he still wanted to find out why it was dangerous to him.
He has always been a person driven by his curiosity and believes. If he doesn't get to the bottom of something or do whatever it was his mind was pushing him to do, he wouldn't feel very comfortable with himself.
So when the system brought the message, he couldnt tell if it was referring to Owen Duurm or Owen Hamburger since they both have the same style when it comes to being curious.
What doom was the system talking about? He didnt know and didnt care.
He blinks severally to get his attention back to the interview.
