Toya.
We stop at a gas station and Kaiya runs out of the car, Must have needed to use the bathroom bad. Rei follows behind her.
A station worker arrives and I wait outside while they fill up the tank.
Rei and Kaiya leave the bathrooms and walk into the store. I pay for the gas and park in front of the store having a quick smoke before getting inside.
Kaiya really loves visiting my dad's house, I'm almost tempted to move closer to home.
I leave the car and go to the bathroom myself. I walk into the room and it's really quiet. I hate public toilets. I hurry up so I the girls don't have to wait for me. I wash my hands and I walk into the store, Kaiya over stocked on sweets.
"Hey, none of that until you eat a proper meal. Put it back."
She frowns at me and I look away, I am not falling for those cat eyes, no way.
"Da β¦ d." She cries stomping her feet.
"Not happening." I look around and Rei can't decide on a bag of chips.
"Just pick all the ones you want." I tell Rei, to help her along with her decision.
Kaiya stands in front of me with her mouth open, "What? Why does mom get to take all the snacks she wants, and I don't?" She asks.
"That's because she's eating for two." I reply with a smile on my face and Kaiya laughs at me instead.
"Dad says he hates that dance of yours."
"What?! My mother taught me this dance." Honestly I didn't even notice I was dancing.
"Well, I'm eating for three, I'm eating snacks for Astrid," She picks the gummy bears, "For Kasai," she picks the sour worms, "And for Kaen." She picks the jelly beans.
"Uhm, Kaiya, eating for two means she's pregnant."
She looks at me, and her face immediately turns to rage, "No she's not. She doesn't need anymore kids." She looks at me with a serious expression and I'm speechless, there is no right or wrong answer when she's like this.
"Hey, what happened to that proper meal idea? I'm hungry for actual food, your sisters home cooking has been on my mind all day." Rei decides on cheese snacks and I grab snacks for the triplets at home.
Kaiya practically takes one of everything in the store out of spite. We get in the car and she sits down pouting. I try to make conversation the whole way home but she is not having it.
"Shouldn't you be happy to be getting more siblings?" I ask and she puckers her lips holding back her tears.
Rei is out like a light. So, we're having this conversation whether we like it or not.
"No, I don't."
I sigh, "Come on Kaiya, I need you to be cool with this."
"I'm not!" She yells and Rei moans waking up. She looks at Kaiya and offers a hug, "Mom, why are you having another baby?"
"Honestly, I didn't want anymore kids, so I can't answer that question, Toya didn't even ask me first, he made the decision alone." She rubs Kaiya's forearm up and down, "We're both gonna have to deal with it, abortion is not an option in this family."
"I don't want another kid in the family."
"Same, but another one is on the way, and the age gap is going to be really big too."
"I don't want them!!!!" Kaiya completely breaks down and I am confused, why does it seem like no one is happy about this? I'll tell dad, maybe he will be happy.
~
We finally arrive at my childhood home and the triplets are watering plants outside. Kaiya influenced them into gardening.
We get inside and Rei throws up at the door.
"Sorry, I wasn't sure if I was really going to throw up or not this time." She covers her mouth turning around and throws up again. I turn to my dad and scratch my head, what in the world am I supposed to even say right now.
Kaiya uses her power to clear up the mess, she's as OCD as her father. That saved me the trouble of cleaning it up.
I sit next to Rei, and knowing how spiteful she is, if she still has something to vomit, she'll purposely do it on me, "I'll get you some water, I'm not going to take long."
I walk into the kitchen and everyone is staring at me, "Please don't give her those looks when she gets inside guys, please."
"Is she okay?" My sister asks a little upset, I don't get why she would be.
"Yeah, it's normal."
"It's normal to throw up on people's door steps?" My brother, the one after me, asks cocking a brow.
"For a pregnant woman, yes." I walk past them and sit next to Rei outside.
She completely breaks down and again, I am stuck in a situation where I don't know what to do, or say, or even how to feel. Why is everyone crying today?
"Rei, I won't ask if you're okay, clearly you're not, what can I do?" I wrap my arms around her and she just shoves me away.
I take a step back and she stands up walking into the house mad at me.
This is so not fair, how am I supposed to respond to that?
