As soon as she heard the old man's words her polite expression couldn't help but crack a little.
"I told you already! I have never done anything indecent! I am as pure as the day I was born!" She practically yelled all the while she continued to chant in her mind.
'You cannot harm the elderly! Elders must always be respected!'
After hearing this Master Onbo fell into deep thought. Of course he believed her.. after all she looked incredibly young no older than is 9 year old daughter at the very least.
"Look.. Its not that master doubts your words, however just like your aura that book seems to be quite sinister in nature. Infact I've only seen on like it in all my years of life." Looking at the girl infront of him who seemed to be on edge now, Master Onbo couldn't help but sigh in his heart. Perhaps he did go a little too far.
"Listen girly it would be best to get rid of that thing as soon as possible! If you insist on keeping it master won't say anything, but you must be careful with it."
Hearing that he wanted her to separate from her new favorite thing Theia's slited pupils contracted as her eyes narrowed dangerously.
"No! I is mine. No matter what you say I will not be getting rid of it!" She snapped as the amulet around her neck began to vibrate intensely in an effort to restrain the dark and bloody aura that had just intensified.
"Okay, girly calm down.. Like master said if you want to keep it, then keep it. Just be careful with it." Said Master Onbo with a deep look in his old eyes. it was unknown what he was thinking at this moment.
...
Meanwhile outside of the carriage the old man's companion was having the most awkward time of his life.
Unlike the James from before who was filled to the brim with gentleness and care the James who was now infront of him looked as if could slaughter an entire city without even batting an eye.
"So... My name is Tatsuya and you are?" Trying to ease the atmosphere a bit the man turned to James and greeted him politely. However it seemed it would have been better to just keep quite.
"James.. Now be silent... I must be able to hear when Madam gives me a command.." His tone was flat and seemed to carry small amount of killing intent making Tatsuya shiver unconsciously.
"Y- yes of course..." And with that the rest of the journey was silent on both sides.
...
As the light emitting orb in the sky began to wane so did the tense atmosphere that surrounded the carriage after Theia's and Master Onbo's brief confrontation.
"Little kit, it's not good to stop for too long in these woods... We are going to continue traveling through the night. Why don't you get some sleep this old man will keep watch and make sure you don't fall." Said Master Onbo as he peered out kf the carriage window.
The woods they were traveling through were the very ones that Theia had woken up in.
"Is that so?" The little Kit replied back in a curious manner as she pulled back the curtain on her side to see outside.
Master Onbo couldn't practically smell the curious nature that wafted out from the little fox infront of him.
'Ah.. how good is it not to be tainted by the ways of the adult world' He thought before speaking outloud
"Yes this place is called Dead-Wood Forest. The wood from the trees here are practically useless for anything but starting a fire, but that's not the reason this place is dangerous. It's said that a great Primordial resides somewhere near the forest center as such no one dares venture to far in. But that's not all... the edges of the woods are filled to the brim with different bandit clans who prey on anyone trying to go around the forest. Therefore it's really not a good idea to linger for too long."
