With a charming smile James lightly shut the door to the carriage once again sealing its inhabitants from the outside world.
"What a bother... " He sighed as his head turned to see a group of thuggish individuals swaggering over all led by the same burly man as before.
"Seriously such a bother..... If only insects could learn to value there lives..." He mumbled as a eerie crimson glow shone from the depths of his eyes.
"No matter... I will just deal with them as quickly as possible.. Then maybe I could receive praise from the Madam!" Upon coming to this realization the gloomy mood surrounding James vanished into thin air.
As the bandits neared James who was now stood infront of them the leader couldn't help but scoff.
"Just you? Well it's no matter to me.. you know the drill, bring out all your valuables and women and we will spare the men. If not all of you will die!" He man said with a disgusting grin.
"Oh... I see... So you will be the first to die."
Before the man could even register what was just said a crimson flash swept past his eyes and the world turned upside down.
The thugs that accompanied the man had to take a moment to realize what just happened and when they finally came to, what greated them was the horrifying sight of their now headless boss falling to ground with a heavy thump.
"W- what happened!? What kind of trick did you pull!" Screamed one of the braver of the bunch, But all he received in return was the cold glare of James' piercing emerald eyes.
"There is no trick.. You vermin are simply too weak.." He sneered as he raised his free hand and in the very next second seven rings of crimson colored light burst into existence along his forearm starting from his wrist with each ring being comprised of various different runes. ( A/N:Think irregular at a magic high-school but instead of numbers it's runes.)
Seeing a magic spell be brought to life with such ease sent shivers down the spine of every bandit present.
"W- ait! Oh g-reat one! Spare our lives we simply d- didn't k-" Watching the way these pathetic excuses for men begged for there lives made James entire body itch in disgust.
"Die worms, [Blood Manipulation - Sirens Call]" As these words fell past his lips the whole world seemingly came to a stand still all was silent that was untill the moment a blood colored magic circle came to life under the snot nosed bandits who barely had enough time to register what was happening before the blood coursing through there veins began to boil.
"Ahhhhh!"
Screams of agony quickly filled the area quickly breaking the momentary silence the world had seemingly fallen into.
Filled with an itching pain under their skin the bandits quickly began madly scratching themselves ripping trought there own skin untill hoping to find any relief to the searing pain coursing through there bodies, however once there blood was exposed to the air things only got worse.
As if repulsed by the very body it Inhabited all the blood in there bodies quickly began to seek an exit from the flesh prison to witch it was bound. Eyes, nose, mouth, ears, no orifice nor scar or scratch was an left unexplored in its attempt to leave the body.
Once drawn outside, instead of dripping and falling to the earth blelow, it flowed into the sky to coagulate and form the beginnings to what looked like a beautiful woman face.
However the woman's head would only end up a third completed before the group of six bandits all died from lack the lack of blood in there bodies causing the spell to end and hardened blood to fade away with the wind.
And with that James turned around as if nothing had happened only to see a dumbfounded Tatsuya standing there with his jaw hanging wide open.
"Y- You... How is your casting speed so fast?!" He screamed. No it wasn't how fast James had delt with the problem, nor was it the fact that he had used blood magic, or even that he had managed to use such a high ranking spell. Tatsuya was simply astounded by how quickly James could call up the correct formula for the spell and actualize it.
It must be said that, at least in there Empire, that the fastest casting speed every recorded was 2.5 seconds! Even though he didn't have the equipment to measure exactly how fast he did it, he was sure that James had managed to cast his spell in at least a second flat.
It must also be mentioned that although magic was very common in this world, not every species could wield as effectively as others hell some couldn't even sense mana much less cast any kind of spell.
Humans fell under a strange category with alot of them not being able to use magic unless they were born in a mana dense region like the capital. This is a very important fact as the denser the mana the more effectively the child born could use it.
(A/N: When I say born I mean from conception all the way untill the baby is born.)
For a human to achieve what he just did he would have had to been born in a extremely mana dense area to the point it would kill ordinary humans, and his parents would have also had to been extremely gifted mages! To simply use magic as if one was breathing was simply unheard-of amongst the human race at least far as he knew it was, yet he couldn't deny what he has just witnessed with his very own eyes!
"What are you on about?" To James who had casted a 7th tier spell with ease, such a feat simply wasn't worth mentioning as such he was genuinely confused as to what this little man was fretting about.
"It was such a simple spell how could I have casted it any slo-"
Suddenly stopping mid-sentence with narrowed eyes James quickly pivoted on his heel and dashed toward Tatsuya.
"Quickly! Mo-"
However even with his superior reflexes and speed it seemed seemed as if he was just a second too late.
