The earth underneath Tatsuya gave forth a low rumble before a ear shattering boom rumbled across the flower field sending uprooted plants and debris flying into the air.
Stopping to avoid the larger chunks of earth flying his way James couldn't help but click his tounge in annoyance.
"I hope that annoying old man isnt too attached to that kid." He said while letting out a short sigh for the scene before him was truly too gruesome.
Piercing straight through his back before curving around and puncturing straight through his heart was a vine sheer white in color, covered in small throns while being as thick as a barrel.
As James observed the morbid art piece before him the earth beneath his feet had begun to rumble once more.
With narrowed eyes James quickly put all his strength into his legs and jumped high just as the ground below was broken apart to reveal a vine /root that was identical to the one that impaled Tatsuya.
"The hell is that thing?!" James swore as he lifted his hand and casted another spell however this time it was only a tier3 spell.
Three crimson rings of light come fourth along his forearm birthing into existence two large magic circles that hovered just above the root that had attempted to skewer from behind.
"[Incinerate]" The crimson magic circles shone as if responding to there master's call. In the less then a second after a sea of flames washed over the vine and the ground below burning so hot that everthing below was turned into ash... or it should have in James mind at least.
Sensing the looming threat the vine impaling Tatsuya had, somehow, created a red barrier/shell around itself shielding it from the flames.
"What?!" As James landed the ground beneath him had begun to rumble once more.
This time instead of one three burst fourth from the earth below.
One wrapping around his legs while the last two quickly moved to restrain his arms.
Acting quickly he sunk his teeth into his bottom lip before casting another spell.
[Blood Blade]
Using his own blood from his now bleeding lip a small red dagger was materialized in his right hand. Twisting his body James sliced easily through the vines trying to ensnare him while simultaneously using another fire spell to burn away the one around his legs.
Jumping away to relative safety James let out a short breath before realization had finally set in.
That thing, whatever it is, was slowly leading him away from the carriage!
Quickly looking over he found the carriage encased in white bramble.
"DAMNIT!"
****************
Looking over at her annoying master with a concerned look in her eye Theia couldn't help but ask.
"Are you sure we shouldn't do anything about it?" The carriage they sat in was indeed isolated from the outside world, however that just ment that nothing outside could effect the inside without breaching the through the wooden walls. It did not seem like the brambles covering the window of the carriage would have a hard time doing that if they just waited.
"Yes I'm quite sure... Infact this may be a good opportunity for you my little apprentice." There was a somewhat cunning glint I'm the old man's eyes as continued to stare at the white bramble constricting the carriage.
Theia simply sighed as she looked up towards the ceiling with dead eyes. This Master was quite literally going to be the death of her...
"And how exactly will anything good come from this?" Even though seeing how the old man could be calm in such a situation did alot for her own nerves it was still a little frustrating that he didn't seem to take anything seriously.
"If I'm not mistaken this thing is a Sanguine Death Blossom. It seems pretty young aswell if you either A) Consume it, or B) Make it your familiar, it would help with your blood magic in a multitude of ways." Turning his head to look at her the old man stroked his long beard for a few moments before looking outside once more.
"The first option will be easiest. The boy James is probably strong enough to kill it. And even if he can't Tat- hmm ignore what I just said.. My advice is to force it into becoming your familiar and then consume its soul." A dangerous pressure filled the Carriage as the old man turned to look at a certain place.
"I will walk you through it once your servrvant boy manages to subdue it.. However..." The old man continued muttering things that Theia could bearly understand.
It was not that she couldn't hear him, but it was more of the fact that she didn't understand what he was talking about.
Death Blossom? Familiar? Consuming its soul? She had never heard about these things before. Non the less how to even go about forcing somthing into being your familiar.
Even though her mother has taught her some things it wasn't very much especially compared to the old man before her.
"How do you know James will subdue it?" Theia had never seen James fight. Plus he seemed like a person who couldn't even harm a fly.. She couldn't imagine him forcing anything or anyone to submit to him.
"Hmm.. how much do you actually know about that boy? I though that since he was your servant you'd at least know how capable he his no?"
"Hmm... not much really.. but he just dosnt seem like the fighting type to me is all..."
