Aurora
I kicked the door in quickly and rushed in to find a startled looking Tiana sitting on the couch eyes already aglow as she was ready for me. Seeing me she sighed and her gold gaze faded.
"That how you make your entrance?" She asked curiously. I looked at her and around.
"Where's Asher?" I asked still tensed.
"Upstairs. Packing what's up you look agitated." She questioned. I raised an eyebrow before her words caught me.
"Wait. Packing?. What for?." I asked quickly worried.
"Oh nothing. He's coming to the pack house today. So he needs to get change of clothes for whatever the Alpha has in-store for him." She replied.
*Oh" I answered.
"Not to worry he's not moving or anything like that. Calm down girl, no one's stealing your boyfriend" . She stated in amusement.
"She's not... We're not dating" Asher spoke from behind us as he walked up to us staring straight at me his bag hanging off his back.
"Aurora." He nodded to me then looked to Tiana smiled and nodded.
"Better for you both" she stated.
*You know you keep saying that but won't actually explain" I snapped at her getting irritated. Her eyes widened as she stared at Asher then back at me.
"I already.. told him.. didn't he tell you?. Well..."
"Tiana . I'll take it from here." Asher ordered an air of authority waving round him. She made a mock bow smiling sheepishly before she walked outside.
"What does she mean?" I asked him quickly. He stared at her for a while.
"You'll find out later have to go before it gets late" he said turning to leave and o grabbed his arm.
"The kiss. Meant nothing. I was just caught up in the moment. Feeling.."
"Already told you Aurora. It didn't..." He started but I cut him off as well
"Oh cut that crap." I snarled out. "Look okay I just.."
"Felt hurt and needed a shoulder to cry on. He was there. I get it . Can I go now?". He asked his eyes cold. I was beginning to get tired of cutting ourselves off.
*Why you being like this Asher?" I asked feeling heavy. He looked at me for a moment then took his hand out.
"I understand if my answer hurt you, but a shoulder to cry on is what Venna's for right.. or is she only good at getting good answers at the appropriate time.* He lashed out.
"She's sorry for that and ..."
"My point is ..." He cut me off again. " ... Was I also a shoulder to cry on till you know.. it got better" my eyes widened.
"Uhm sorry but we gotta go Asher" Tiana called from the door her look grave. It was obvious she had heard everything not like I could blame wolf ears and all.
He looked at me a hint of sadness in his eyes before he walked away towards Tiana and out the door. She looked at me for a second then back outside before she walked in to me.
"His hiding behind the true reason. Find me soon. If he hasn't told you i will you should know too" she said then walked out. My mind raced, know what.
Asher stood at the door looking at me for a while before he looked at the door and the key and back to me.
"Oh. " I walked out and he locked up them turned to me like he wanted to say something then thinking better of it he moved on.
"Asher." He stopped and looked.
"Together right?." I tried . Sure my heart would be beating like crazy in such a moment. He seemed to stare at me for centuries.
"Always. No matter what. " He finished the coldness giving room for a warmness that I couldn't point out. Then he turned and jogged after Tiana both disappearing into the woods.
The smile on my face returned though, for now that was. Venna in a way was right, it was too soon. But I knew for sure I wasn't giving up. Something about him tugged to me, like a rope that pulled me closer refusing to be cut.
"Together. Always. No matter what. " A voice startled me from the side and I spun to see the vampire from the dance.
"That was too good. It felt like a soap opera to me. " He laughed a bit.
"Anyway youngling. Shall we, if you ever hope to keep him safe as much as you want. You should be able to fight off the nastiest things. Fortunately that's where I come in.* He smiled.
" What do you want?." I hissed.
"Not me . You. I can show you. Guide you, teach you. Till you're invisible, well as invincible as possible, like a true vampire." He sang like a muse.
"I don't even know you." I spat.
"Ah. Right. My apologies dear one. Grand Dutch Timothy Voshwa." He introduced giving a bow, then laughed out like a maniac.
"Sorry sorry. Always wanted to do that. Just call me Eric. " He smiled a reassuring smile.
"You'll be safe with my coven I assure you. " He made a subtle bow again.
"Fine." I agreed.
" Let's go then" he asked.
"Where?". I raised an eyebrow.
"Gosh she asks a lot" he muttered to himself. "Follow and you'll know."
He strolled out to the front and I followed watching till he stood by a sleek black Porsche.
"Nice ride." I appreciated. He smiled and nodded for me to get in. I hesitated a while then decided there was no reason for them to want me dead yet besides I doubted I could fight him off alone.
Asher
I felt bad. Real bad. Walking away was really hard like shit hard. But I refused to look back as Tiana and I entered the woods.
"You should tell her. Not make yourself look like the bad person. That's too cliche. " Tiana said looking at me.
"I just don't want it to end badly. We've had our backs since this started, I'm just glad that remains." I shrugged.
"Okay. Okay. Come on let's get going. We're running back there in wolf fur. Too far and no car." She muttered. My mind went to my bike and I sighed needed to get it home and fixed.
"Alright. Wolf it is" I nodded then began stripping.
"Woah woah. We're werewolves not pornstars. Get behind a tree and don't traumatize me " she started her eyes widening.
"Really. I think you're the one that needs a tree." I replied but moved behind a set of bushes. I stripped and tied the clothes together setting them into my bag and down before tugging at Begherius to show .
I stepped out bag in mouth as I eyed the smaller she wolf before me. Her pure white fur stood out like a glow in the woods. She barked at me moving closer as she buried her nose in my fur sniffing me out.
"What's she doing?"I asked Begherius.
"Catching your scent. Do the same." He instructed. Oh. I lowered my nose to her sniffing her fur lightly. The faint scent of almonds and olives stamping in my brain. I stepped back as she eyed me then barked before taking off like a bullet into the woods.
I followed as fast as she, pushing through the woods and pass branches, stomping on dead leaves and twigs as we scattered the dirt below our paws.
We leaped over logs and pawed our way pass trees as I caught up to her running nose to nose with her. She began yipping and nipping at my hind legs earning a scowl from me.
We descended down a slope till we got to a little stream that flowed in a speedy current. We splashed in and out first dampening quickly as we waded through before pushing out in the opposite side where she stopped and I halted as well.
She sniffed the floor and began pacing up and down before she barked at me then turned and trotted behind a tree. Shifting she stretched out before she walked out and my eyes widened and turned quickly.
So I can't strip in peace but she strut about like it's an all women party. Fancy that.
"Shift here and change up. Your wolf is not recognized yet so you enter as human for now." She informed me while I backed her. Moving away a bit I shifted back then ruffled my bag for my cloth as she walked up to me.
"Space girl." I shouted.
",Get used to it. Modesty is not something we have since there's usually no time to dress or whatever in-between shifts." She shrugged.
I pulled my shorts on then threw on my Polo as I stared back fighting to keep my gaze on her face.
"So your little show earlier was..." I begin questioning.
"Saving you a little dignity I guess". She retorted.
",So everyone just walks around and turns back and everyone can see their nude bodies. That's eventful. Benjamin sure is missing a lot" I muttered sarcastically.
"Let's go. This seperates the town from the city we have patrol guards out here to make sure no one , and I mean human walks in long enough to spot the pack." She said as she put on a gown she dug out a hole in a tree.
"If the guards see them what happens?" I asked .
" They kill and eat them." She answered matter of factly. I stared.
"Just kidding. They actually make all the noises without showing themselves, scare the humans off the land. It creates myths about us but no actual sighting" she mused.
"Okay. " I ended still unsure on the effectiveness.
"Let's go. The patrols know we are coming so be prepared to meet them. Some heard you thrashed Jackson and Scott. Nice going by the way.".
"Had help." I shrugged.
"I was there you know." She spoke." You really beat them down and I loved every minute of it. Not the part where you almost killed Kiara though. Watch out for her elder brother though. He wants your head." She warned.
"I already have someone with dibs on that " I muttered harshly my mind flicking to Venna.
"Wow. You that hated." She asked. I made a meh face. We descended down another hill and it came in sight. It was unexpected, like a whole different community on its own. Houses lined the sides like shops in a plaza. All leading in a parallel line to a larger mansion.
"Welcome to Graystone pack Asher." She stated looking at me then walking on down. I looked around more. Wolves were everywhere, running in the fields , fighting amongst themselves or just standing about. Some were in human form in a little area that was fenced out with a short wall . Fighting happened there in a serious state like it was a life or death thing.
"Asher. Come on. You'll get a tour around later. You need to finish formalities before it's late that way you have unrestricted access to the grounds." I nodded at the information my body reluctantly dragging off after her.
The entire place felt like a world right out of a book or TV set to me. My eyes glued to every wolf that ran pass me. I'd seen wolves already but this much wolves congregated together was awesome. I kept looking about as we got down to the houses. I was too preoccupied with glancing at every goddamn thing that I didn't notice the group of people that moved towards us.
"Shut your mouth Ash or a goddamn fly will make a hive there." I looked at her as she smirked a bit then looked back to where my eyes had been before earning a sigh from her.
*Look alive, here comes ground security time to say hi". She muttered grabbing one of my arms and pulling me closer to her as I finally noticed the approaching group.
"So they're the welcoming committee?" I asked.
"Nope". She replied. The first of them a guy with brunette hair and a lot of facial hair stopped me in my tracks as he glared me down I mentally raised an eyebrow as I wondered how someone at the same eye level as me could still be able to glare me down.
"You the new kid? Asher?" He asked his eyes sizing me up like prey. I looked to Tiana who had been somehow seperated without me realizing. I looked back to him a sly grin already forming on his face.
"I'm not gonna ask..."
"Who's asking?" I cut him off raising a brow at him.
He glared the grin leaving his face.
"Caleb. The girl who's throat you almost ripped out Is my younger sister." He looked me dead in the eyes my mind spinning ways to get outta this.
"Said sister who tried to flay me up?" I asked.
"You should have let her flay you up. Cause now you'll be getting worse from me" he grinned his iris filling with the familiar gold. I turned to find Tiana seeing her surrounded her eyes already gold as she glared at the other wolves who were actively cutting her off from me.
"Alpha bitch ain't gonna save your ass now you all mine." He muttered smirking.
"First of all..." The new voice made Caleb to pale drastically. "...that alpha bitch is my little sister who has violence abstinence codes." I looked to see Michael standing coldly to the side as he watched us. Caleb's eyes widened with the next statement.
"I trust you though, she won't be saving him cause he ain't needing it, you on the other hand are way out of line beta, I mean fourth beta Caleb". He stopped and pushed off the wall.
"How about I smack you around a bit, see how you like that.". He threatened stepping closer.
"No alpha. Was just roughing him up a bit you know... Just checking to see .. had balls like the said. That's all". He defended as he stepped back.
"Really?" Michael seemed amused at this concept.
"Didn't look much like it" he muttered looking at me.
"Just pissed he beat my sister bad that's all" he murmured. Michael tilted his head to the side as he eyed Caleb then smiled again.
"You know you really should have been smart to keep your mouth shut. Cause how's it gonna sound that a beta was smacked around with three other betas in a four to one fight against an Omega." He clicked his tongue in disapproval before walking round Caleb and stopping in front of me.
"Too bad. " He smiled softly them looked to Tiana who was standing looking at the closest man who had blocked her off. There was a little flicker in her eyes as I watched like an internal tussle as she kept watching her mouth in a firm line.
"Snap out of it Baby T. He ain't worth it " Michael shouted to her. She snapped her head to him fire in them.
"And she's pissed at me now?" He turned to me with a sigh.
"Come on" he turned walking back to the larger house as I followed avoiding Caleb's glare that said this wasn't over.
"Well we are having a little bonding ceremony with the older intakes. You'll be joining them during the ceremony tonight." He nodded to several people as we walked to the mansion while talking. Tiana followed behind us a few glances from me showing she was still visibly worked up from earlier.
We finally got to the house and entered Michael quickly walking off to wherever as Tiana stood beside me waiting as I looked around. Inside was beautiful, the floor was wooden as was most of the house, a Chandelier hung from the ceiling in the sitting room. There were three stairs that led of to different spots in the mansion.
"You'll be staying in the pack house whenever you visit till you decide you get your own cabin in the lands". Tiana informed. I stared at her with wide eye.
" I can get my own cabin?" I asked. She smiled her cheerful self returning.
"Yes you can. Come let me introduce you to Michael's beta. He's an annoying pain in the ass but lovable, not much as can be said for the other betas." She commented then looked back up a stairway.
"Come with me. I'll show you to your guestroom. There's a lot of them for guests and other alphas when the visit." She informed climbing while I followed.
"Alright. But I'm still heading home tonight right?" I asked for clarification. She nodded while we climbed the stairway to the next floor.
"The bonding ceremony is usually quick and early, after which the pack hunts as one to Foster unity and dependence and trust." She said that part like it was a joke.
"What's next is just a welcome party. So if you wanna leave during that no problem." She stopped in front of a red door turning the knob and pushing it in before walking in herself. I followed slowly my eyes roaming over the place. It was bigger than my own room back home but had no balcony. The walls were a deep sea green with an oak floor. The bed king-sized and a walk-in wardrobe to the side as was a door that let to a toilet and bathroom.
"Wow." I uttered after appraising the room. Then dropped my bag to the floor before turning to Tiana. "It's nice". She smiled in return them walked to the door.
"Better get showered and change up." She instructed before leaving making me glad I'd brought extra clothes as she advised. Now alone my mind flashed to Aurora wondering how she was holding up.
'Too much drama'.
