Mathilda
There's silence like a graveyard, with everyone still staring at the intimidating man who stunned them by coming in here.
They're all still finding it hard to believe that Alpha Cahill is actually here.
Our gazes immediately lock, and I so wish the floor can consume me and take me down.
"Oh, there she is," the corners of Cahill's lips stretch into a mischievous smirk, "bring her to me," he commands authoritatively, getting all serious again.
And two of his men start heading in my direction.
Brandon immediately pulls my hand in his protectively, and I gulp because there's this unsettling feeling tugging inside of me.
"She's mine," he says, glaring so hard at Cahill who only scoffs.
Brandon needs to know that he's no match for Cahill. Cahill is a man, someone who's had more experience in life than he can ever have, aside from that, Cahill is an Alpha.
Cahill's men pull me away from Brandon, while he tries to struggle with them, but they end up shoving him into a wall.
This results in him throwing a punch in one of the men's faces, and he gets punched in return. Something which sends him directly to the floor.
My heart moves up to my throat at the sight.
There are several gasps from the students, and this is something that would've been stopped if it isn't Alpha Cahill but someone else. They're scared of him, even the Astronomy lecturer wouldn't dare speak unless she wants to remain jobless forever.
A whimper of pain leaves the mouth of Brandon when the second man kicks him on the rib.
"Stop," I outcry, as the first man takes me to Cahill because I don't want them to keep hurting Brandon.
But the man keeps rendering kicks all over Brandon's body, making the boy groan in pain to the extent that I can see the fangs of his wolf erupting.
The lecturer and students are quiet as they watch everything unfolding in front of them as if it's a movie.
I feel like I am the cause of this whole thing. If I hadn't left the Nolan's mansion to come here, none of this would've happened. Brandon would be here wallowing in depression, and Cahill wouldn't have come here to cause a scene.
"Don't hurt him anymore, please." I implore, turning to Cahill, but he remains the way he is, enjoying every bit of Brandon's pain with a side smug smirk on his face.
"She's mine, you bloody ripper! You cannot separate what the moon Goddess has joined together," Brandon yells from over the floor, where he's getting stomped on by Cahill's man, and the one who is holding me, leaves me to go include his punches in Brandon's face.
My stomach churns because Brandon is bleeding terribly, and Cahill is the only one who can put a stop to this, but he doesn't want to. He seems devoid of emotions.
"Please, stop," I beg Cahill, surprising both myself and him by grabbing his hand in mine.
His eyes widen for a split second, and then he casually pulls his hand away.
I gulp, letting my hand fall to my side. Wondering why I let myself touch him in the first place. He's no different from a monster.
A bleeding Brandon who has seen this, has his eyes lowered in jealousy and anger.
"You will have to come to our Pack's council hall, and let my wife reject you in the presence of the pack elders and members," Cahill directs this statement to Brandon.
"Never! I will do no such thing. And Tilda isn't your wife. She's mine! Mine, you hear me!?" Brandon immediately shifts into his wolf, breaks free from the hold, and lunges toward Cahill in anger.
"Bran, no!" I bellow because things will turn out bad. He's too subdued by anger to even listen to me, and Cahill can kill him within seconds. If only he would just listen to me and calm down, he still doesn't have any idea what Cahill is capable of. His head can be knocked off his body before he can think.
Brandon's wolf is one step away from clawing Cahill when Cahill grabs the neck of his wolf and holds him high in the air.
My body is shaking so hard that my mouth parts and sharp breaths start flowing out like I am having a panic attack.
My vision blurs for a moment, and I hold onto the wall for support, so I don't fall off.
Something like concern sparks through Cahill's blue eyes as he looks at me, but then it disappears as fast as it arrived, and he sends Brandon's wolf colliding into a nearby wall, before rushing towards his side and holding him up again.
This immediately renders Brandon weak, his wolf begins struggling and whimpering in pain, but Cahill doesn't seem like he's close to stopping.
He applies so much force on his hold on Brandon's neck, that I can see his veins bulging out along his neck, and his claws are coming out as well. Same as his fangs, making his face take the shape of his wolf.
And I know I have to put an end to this, or Cahill will kill Brandon.
"Stop, please! You'll never see me next to him again. I will reject him this day if it's possible, please just don't hurt him. Let him live, Alpha Cahill," I implore, with my legs giving out under me as I kneel in front of Cahill who's still choking Brandon.
Brandon is trying to shift into his human form, but he cannot because Cahill's hold on his neck is way too powerful.
It looks like he'll die if Brandon doesn't stop from the chokehold he's giving him.
A geeky student slips out his phone from his backpack and starts filming this.
"Woah," he exclaims, fisting his hand against his mouth like it's an action movie he's watching.
Simone, Cahill's Beta sees this, snatches the phone away from the boy, and smashes it against the floor.
"I-I-I'm ssssory," he begs when Simone shoots him a death glare.
And the boy immediately runs out, scared he'll get hurt too.
