Chapter 17 - think of you?

Mathilda

It's half past eleven on the next day when we arrive at Bora Bora airport which is also known as Motu Mute Airport.

I grab my bag off the conveyor belt and trail behind Cahill who is already heading out. Today, he's wearing a light green short-sleeve Hawaiian shirt with a few of the buttons undone that I can see the hard walls of his slightly hairy, big chest. He paired the shirt up with tight-fitting white denim jeans and coffee brown boots.

His hair has a little swoosh in front, and on his eyes are round-eyeglasses.

The fact that he puts in efforts to look good at all times is cool, considering the fact that he's a man with a lot of responsibilities piled on his broad shoulders.

The hot summer sun is doing an awful job at heating up the entire place excessively when I am out. I hate hot days, but hot days are perfect for swimming so it wouldn't be so bad since I am on the world's most beautiful island.

I slept practically all the way in the jet because I'm not a fan of heights. Before now, I've never been on a jet before, so my Acrophobia came popping up when the jet took us up to the sky. I fought against the urge to cry and barfed more than normal until one of Cahill's flight attendants handed me a sleeping mask.

From what I've read and seen in movies, airports are always crowded with people in a hurry. But this one isn't. It's almost scanty because the people here aren't of a highly exceedingly large amount.

I am expecting a chauffeur standing outside a limousine waiting for us, but I see none. There are just boats everywhere lying around in the lagoon.

Cahill is walking as if he knows his way around here, at the same time he seems to be talking to someone because he has an airpod connected to his left ear.

There are no servants here to help us, it's just us two with Cahill carrying his own bag as well.

Taking the straw hat off to fan myself, I see a skin-cut dark-haired boy with a scar above his gray eyes, making his way out of a boat nearby.

He seems to be older than me with a few years and quite tall with a lean, lanky body.

He has a placard, with the words 'Mr & Mrs. Nolan's inked perfectly on it. With this, I know he was sent to come fetch us.

There's a bit of uncertainty when he looks at Cahill who isn't even paying attention to his surroundings, except he keeps walking forward.

The boy's mouth parts for a moment, then his eyes widen in astonishment as they rake at the intimidating appearance and the huge trained muscular structure of my husband's body. Cahill's physique is clearly what he didn't expect.

"You're Alpha Cahill?" He asks, after taking a big gulp with his eyes blinking unendingly. He has a French accent and it's kind of hot as he speaks English. You know, having some sexual undertone.

And Cahill nods, taking his glasses off and shoving them in his pocket, with his lip in a purse.

"I've heard a lot about you," the boy immediately says, grinning at Cahill and when he sees that Cahill's face isn't being cooperative, his grin vanishes.

"Sure you have," Cahill utters stiffly.

"I'm Xavier. I was sent to fetch you." the boy says,

not even bothering to acknowledge my presence as he stretches his hand towards Cahill for a handshake.

And just as I am beginning to think Cahill wouldn't accept the boy's hand, he surprises me by doing the opposite.

When Cahill pulls his hand away, Xavier turns to me with his eye twitching, then he beams at me, "you must be the wife. Luna of the Blackwood pack. Maevá," he holds out his hand to me, with his demeanor completely changing as he rewards me with a huge, boyish beautiful grin. And for a moment, I feel my heart skip.

"Sorry, I don't get your last word," I force a smile on my face, putting my hand in his, feeling odd because I know Cahill's eyes are resting on me.

"It means welcome, Mrs. Nolan," Xavier says then presses a kiss to my hand, the kiss lingering a little too long.

"Thank you, Xavier,"

"And that means Mauruuru," he provides, taking his lips away but not his hand as he stares at me up from my hand.

"We should get going, already," Cahill utters in a dull spiritless tone, then pushes his bag into Xavier's chest and I immediately pull my hand away from Xavier and fasten my gaze to Cahill, just in time to see a muscle stiffening in his jaw.

It appears he doesn't like Xavier's attitude with me and is clearly pissed about it.

Xavier still has a smile on his face, other than his teeth aren't visible this time. He takes my bag from me then starts leading the way to the boat, with me and my husband following suit.

When we get to the boat, Xavier helps me in at first, before Cahill hops in. With that giant scowl still on his face.

Maybe he's this grumpy because it's supposed to be Genova here with him and not me.

"Tu es belle et bien trop jeune pour être mariée.  C'est incroyable de voir comment tu réussis à voler le cœur d'un homme aussi puissant." Xavier says in French as he starts the boat.

And I know what he meant because I learned French in high school. He meant that I am beautiful and quite too young to be married and that it's unbelievable how I managed to steal the heart of such a powerful man. Referring to Cahill.

I am quite uncomfortable with his statement as I go to sit opposite Cahill, making sure to avoid his gaze and take in view of the overly blue lake and its surroundings.

The fact that Cahill is known as a powerful man in this place is quite shocking because the inhabitants of this island aren't that much. Approximately ten thousand, which isn't close to Eastfield.
