These past couple of days have been heaven for Natalie and me. Being able to mark and mate has made us connect on a whole other level. We did find out that we can sense each other emotions if we concentrate enough, or we feel it full force if it is a strong emotion and can sense what is going on with the pack at any time of the day. Now, when I shift into Dom, we stand taller and have more muscle. I do not know if Dom and I have any special abilities like Natalie and Midnight, but it does not matter to me. Natalie has been so worried over nothing, thinking that I would leave her if I did not get anything out of this. How wrong she is, and I am glad that she can finally sense that on her own.
Right now, she is out back of the pack house sitting in the gazebo with Becca. I can tell there has been a lot on Natalie's mind, but Becca is doing a wonderful job at making sure her mind is preoccupied. Today they are working on some of the preparations for the Luna ceremony this weekend. Between Becca, my mom, and Mrs. Morris helping they will have it done in no time.
Before I can get down to the interrogation though, I have to finish looking over the paperwork for the two businesses Kayden, Oliver and I run together. There really is not much to go over, just the balance sheets and income statements for both. Then I have to see if they need any changes in the marketing aspect. Based off of what I am seeing on this paperwork, there are no discrepancies, and this is what I always want to see. Now to see how the marketing aspect is going. After calling the companies headquarters I was able to find out that there was nothing that really needed to be done. However, they are going to make sure to run another advertisement to bring in more customers. Which is something that they know that need to take the initiative on.
Natalie told me she wanted to be with me when the guys and I interrogate the Alpha in the cells. At first, I told her that I really did not want her there, but she won in the end. She reminded me that she no longer wanted to run away scared every time someone targets her. For her to remind me, this made me realize that she has come a long way since she first got here. I have a feeling that it is going to take me some time to get used to the new Natalie. She definitely has more confidence about her, and the willingness to take things head on. Ugh, I might as well get this over with so it will put both Natalie's mind and my mind at ease, I think to myself.
Me: Kayden, I need you to get Oliver and Nathan. Meet Natalie and I at the basement door.
Kayden: Okay, but do you really want to let Natalie go with us? Do you think that she is ready for something like this?
Me: I think she will be okay. She has been very persistent on going with us when we go to get answers.
Kayden: Alright, I will get the other guys. Will this be an interrogation or an "Interrogation"?
Me: The second option. If Natalie cannot handle what we need to get to get the information we need, she knows that she can step out at any time. She also said that we do not have to worry about her holding any of this against us.
Kayden: Well that is a relief. See you two soon.
Roughly ten minutes later Natalie, Kayden, Oliver, Nathan and I are all gathered at the basement door. I can tell that Natalie is already starting to get anxious. However, based off of the mate bond, she is just ready to get the answers that the Alpha has.
"Alright guys, everyone ready to get the show on the road?" I asked. No one answered out loud, but they did give slight nods of their heads. With that answer I opened the basement door.
*Natalie*
Once Lucas opened the basement door I could smell urine, feces, blood and sweat. As we started to descend the stairs the smell was getting stronger. Looking at the guys, though, it did not seem like it was bothering them. But how could someone become used to this smell?
"How do you guys get past the smell?" I asked no one in particular.
"Honestly, you don't." Nathan responded chuckling.
"Are you going to be okay Nat?" Oliver asked.
"Yeah, I will be alright. I want to see what this Alpha has to say for himself. Midnight told me earlier that she is willing to come out and see if she can get answers." I told them as we came to the bottom of the stairs.
It took about four flights to get to the bottom. Down here I can see a long corridor with cell doors on each side. I was expecting to hear yells, or moaning. However, I do not hear anything coming from the cells. Maybe they are sound proof, I thought to myself, or there are no prisoners in those cells.
Me: Do you think these cell doors are sound proof?
Midnight: They just might be. But you do realize the only way to know this answer for sure is to ask Lucas and the guys, right?
Me: Oh, right. I keep forgetting that you are as new as I am to this.
"Lucas, I have a question. Are these cells sound proof, or are there no prisoners in there?" I asked.
"These cells are empty right now. The one that we are going to is just in front of us. I wanted to make sure he was going to be close to the interrogation room." He stated while pointing to the door we were looking for.
Next thing I know Kayden, and Oliver opened the cell door and disappeared inside. A couple minutes later they emerged with the enemy Alpha being held up between them. I could see that his arms were shackled behind his back, which made me feel a little better.
Lucas: Natalie, stand behind me until they get him into the interrogation room and secured. I do not know what will happen if he sees you.
Me: Okay, sounds good to me.
Ten minutes after Kayden and Oliver took him into the interrogation room a little further down the corridor, they emerged letting us know that it was good to come into the room. Since I wanted to be the last on in the room, I waited for the others to go first. However, this room is nothing like what I though it was going to be.
As soon as I walked into the room, I could see the enemy Alpha sitting on a chair in the middle of the room, right over top of a drain. The Alpha was chained to the chair with silver shackles on both his arms and feet. To the right of where the Alpha was placed, there is a workbench that did not have anything on it. Along the wall behind the workbench, there were two different cabinets. Since they were already open I could see various small electric power tools in one cabinet, and the other were vials of concentrated silver and another smaller safe, which had three vials of liquid wolfsbane. On the wall behind where the Alpha was shackled, there were whips, cattle prods, chains, branding irons, etc. What really confused me was the left wall. There were two different silver chains hanging from the wall…however they seemed to be pretty far apart.
Midnight: I think that is to overextend the prisoners arms.
Me: Well, I can see how that would cause a lot of pain.
Midnight: Yeah, it could. However, it might not give an immediate reaction like we want.
Me: That is true. I think I will just let the guys have their fun, and when I come up with a question, I want an answer to, then I will have Lucas ask it.
Midnight: If that is what you want to do, that is fine with me
