Tira stood in the cold night under the shed of a stall with her eyes closed. Adonis' demon continued to slaughter a homeless woman in a corner while he watched and waited. Tira shook her head and just looked away as Adonis took the woman's soul. She swallowed hard as she saw the battered body of the woman.
"She fears us, she might betray us." The demon whispered to Adonis deviously.
" I need her, you can't lay a finger on her, find something else to play with." He replied.
Tira stopped watching and closed her eyes again as she breathe in the cold night air.
"We need to find Meridith, I'm getting bored." Adonis said, coming to stand in front of her.
"She's still untraceable, she'll make a move and I'll track her then." Tira said.
A patrol car started to approach them with its headlights fully set on them, Tira went into an alley to hide while Adonis' demon went to attack them and tore at them as they screamed in agony. Adonis sighed loudly and smiled as he sucked in their souls before calling it a night and vanishing.
"You can't just keep piling bodies." Tira muttered and sighed.
In a room above, a man watched the whole scene in horror. He swiped at the pictures he took and laid on the floor shaking uncontrollably.
Morning came and the police gathered the scene with reporters taking photos of the scene and bombarding the officer with questions. Josh drove to the scene and showed the officers his ID before crossing the tape and going to take a close look at the scene.
He covered his mouth at the sight and asked the officers to stop the press from taking photos.
" It's no use, some of them are airing live." One of the officers told him.
" This is just primitive." Kol came up from behind him as he looked at the dead Cops in the car.
"The pattern keeps changing." Josh said, sounding frustrated.
"Yeah, these ones are battered like the priest and still freakishly white like the one on the road, the killer is a gamer or he's just a man of many skills." Kol replied.
"I need to talk to the officers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" A man yelled as Josh turned and started to walk towards the sea of reporters.
The reporters immediately started gathering around the man and trying to get information from him. Josh and Kol quickly took him aside to a coffee shop not too far from the scene and bought him a coffee of his choice. They watched him drink it as he shook physically.
"What you got for me?." Josh asked him carefully.
The man suddenly stopped gulping down the coffee and started to shake again in fear. He brought out his phone and opened it to show them the videos and pictures. Josh and Kol watched the videos in total shock. Kol ran to the restroom to throw up after watching how the police officers were killed.
The man continued to shake and block his ears as the sounds of screams issued from the phone. Josh sent the videos to his phone and forwarded them to the Chief immediately.
" You should see a therapist sir, send the cost to the police clerk and we'll cover the expenses." Josh told the man softly.
"Thank you." The man said still shaking.
Josh thanked the man for his help and cooperation and stood up as Kol came back from the restroom. They left the coffee shop with a reporter walking into the coffee shop immediately they left.
Josh walked to his car and rested his head on the roof of the car for a awhile before he turned to Kol.
"We should inform the families of the patrol officers." He said in frustration to Kol who still looked shaken from what he had seen.
They got in their cars and drove off. Josh drove straight to the chief's house as he wasn't in his office today. He hadn't seen him much at the office since the priest's burial. On his way there, he thought of the woman with white hair in the video and the vision Mr Cooks showed him .
"So there's another woman with the same features as miss Sindell?" He thought.
"Could she be the one in the vision he saw and not Riya? He thought out loud.
"The man with the wild beast in the video was definitely Adonis, but the woman with the white hair wasn't Riya Sindell." He thought as he continued to drive.
"What exactly is going on?" He asked out loud.
He continued driving for a while till he got a call, he picked the phone and put it on speaker.
"Hello Josh, where are you?" The Chief asked
"On my way to your house Chief." He replied.
"I already left the house, meet me at the office, we have an official meeting before we meet the families of the deceased officers." Chief Anthony said over the phone.
"Yes Chief." Josh said as the call ended.
He stopped the car, turned around and drove back to the station.
Josh parked his car in the parking lot and took the elevator to the conference room for the meeting. The meeting lasted for an hour plus with the deliberations targeted towards tightening security in the town and ensure the citizens that they could still trust the police.
Josh walked with Chief Anthony after the meeting with Kol tagging behind. The Chief cursed out loud repeatedly.
" Get me strategy experts for war, get me a shaman, get me a wizard, anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He screamed in frustration when they were already in his office.
"This case is slipping from our hands Josh, the higher ups are starting to get curious." He added.
Josh and Kol stood in silence and just apologized, not knowing what else to do. The Chief dismissed them and they both walked out of his office looking like their lives were over.
"What do we do?" Kol asked and sighed.
"I need to reach out to Mr Cooks and see what's in that crazy head of his." Josh said and walked towards his car.
"For now, let's just visit the officers families, Luke was a good friend." He said and sighed.
Kol nodded and went with him in his car. They drove to the first cop's house and payed their respects and condolences to the family before leaving and heading for the next family.
By the time they were done, it was already late in the afternoon. They drove back to the station with Kol going home and Josh going to see Leya.
He waited for her to get off on her break and they both went to their usual spot in the corner. They sipped coffee while discussing the recent murders and the effect it had on the Town. Josh took a deep breath and sighed afterwards. He always felt better talking to Leya. They then switched to personal and everyday life discussions before her break ended.
Josh went home from there and called it a day for himself before he went crazy. He sat in his living room and watched the videos again before dropping his phone and going to take a shower.
Josh had finished having his bath and was trying to prepare something to eat when he got a call from Kol.
"Turn on your TV." Kol said sounding frustrated.
Josh immediately turned on his TV and saw the video the man had filmed playing on TV with the reporter saying he had gotten it first hand from the person who filmed it and that the cops were trying to hide it from the public because they were incompetent and not trustworthy.
" That jerk." Josh said as he continued to watch the video play on the station.
Chief Anthony called him few minutes later and was going on and on, on the phone about the case being at risk of being taken from their hands because of their carelessness.
Josh apologized before the Chief hung up. He left Mr Cooks a voicemail immediately, asking him to call him since he hadn't been able to reach him since morning. He sat down on the couch and sighed.
