Riya hadn't really heard from Voleth Meir since she said she'd talk to Elijah about awakening her demon side. Voleth Meir had been absent for two days. Riya thought she was avoiding her though, till she could get Elijah's consent. She stretched on the bed before getting up and going to the bathroom to clean up. Rick joined her shortly in the bathroom and they had their bath together.
Riya and Rick came downstairs for breakfast and met Voleth Meir and Elijah at the dining table, they greeted each other and sat down to eat. Jimmie joined them shortly and the Butler immediately ordered the maids to serve the food.
They ate in silence with everyone obviously having a lot on their minds. Jimmie then decided to speak up.
"The Sergeant keeps trying to reach me, there's been more murders in the town." He said.
"I know." Riya said, with Rick nodding along.
Voleth Meir and Elijah were quiet till they finished eating , then Voleth Meir asked them to all assemble in the living room. She called the butler and asked him to send the maids away for today and dismissed him.
Voleth Meir went online and checked the photos and videos with Elijah watching with a straight as usual. After they were done watching, Voleth Meir turned to them and addressed Jimmie first.
"Tell the Cop something to make him lay off Riya, this is our best chance to put all attention on Tira instead." She said and Jimmie nodded in obedience.
"Riya we will awaken your demon side today, get ready." She said.
Riya smiled and nodded her head in understanding. She got up and went upstairs into her room to change to a black dress that Voleth Meir already asked the butler to take upstairs while they were talking. Riya picked up the dress and assessed it. It was a full length long sleeved flowing black dress with a deep V neck line. Riya twirled around with the dress and finally started to change into it.
Rick walked into the room and was paralyzed for a moment as he saw her standing there in the dress with her hair pulled up in a bun. She turned around and smiled and Rick went and picked her up, sweeping her off her feet as he twirled around with her in his arms.
"You look evil and beautiful." He said smiling.
Riya laughed out loud and kissed him before he dropped her and hugged her. He took her to the bed to sit.
"What happens when you awaken your demon side?" He asked, holding her hands.
"Nothing much, I just get to be whole again." She replied smiling.
"Okay then." He replied and poked her on the cheeks as she chuckled.
"Thank you for being here Ricky." She said and kissed him.
They sat for awhile and discussed till she finally went downstairs to join Voleth Meir and Elijah. Seeing her walk down the stairs, the audience were paralyzed for a second as she looked like a goddess.
" You are one hell of a woman." Voleth Meir said as she came to stand in front of them.
"Thank you." Riya replied smiling.
Rick kissed Riya and went with Jimmie to his room while Riya followed Elijah and Voleth Meir upstairs and through the hallway. Voleth Meir got to the door opposite Elijah's room and stopped. She whispered a spell and the door opened up itself. Voleth Meir walked in first with Riya and Elijah following suit.
"It had to be opposite my room." Elijah muttered.
The room was dark and the walls were cold and made of rocks. It looked like an opening in an underground cave. Voleth Meir lit the candles with magic and the room lightened up a little.
Riya then saw a metal table in the middle of the room with potions in shelves on the rough walls. She walked to some to take a close look at the contents. Voleth Meir whispered something to Elijah and then turned to her.
"Come lie down." She said to Riya.
Riya walked to the metal table and laid down facing upwards. Voleth Meir and Elijah chanted a spell together and immediately, chains appeared and restrained Riya tight to the table.
"We need to restrain you, in case you go mad with power when we awaken your demon." Voleth Meir explained.
"Okay." Riya replied and closed her eyes.
Voleth Meir and Elijah started to chant a spell repeatedly with Voleth Meir touching her forehead on intervals until Voleth Meir slit her palm and poured the blood on Riya's symbol, with Elijah doing same. They continued to chant the spell till the glowing symbol on her head sipped in the blood on her forehead and Riya's entire body started to jerk.
Outside the house, the sky opened up and clouds started to gather, lightening could be seen in the sky with thunder rumbling.
Voleth Meir and Elijah kept chanting the spell till Riya stopped jerking abruptly. And by the time she opened her eyes, her eyes were blazing coals of fire. The chains restraining her to the table broke in pieces and she got up and turned towards Elijah and Voleth Meir.
She stretched her right hand and twisted her fingers, and Elijah fell to his knees with every bone in his body cracking as he groaned in pain. A sardonic smile played on Riya's lips as she continued to torture Elijah.
"Control yourself Meridith." Voleth Meir said.
"Your demon just awakened, and you're feeling thirsty for blood because it has been dormant for so long and needs action, but calm down, try to balance it, you don't want to hurt Elijah." Voleth Meir continued.
"Meridith." Nephele said, appearing in the room.
Voleth Meir and Elijah turned to the voice in utter surprise. Nephele walked towards her and patted her head lightly. Riya immediately stopped the assault on Elijah while Voleth Meir quickly started to fix him up.
"Try to channel your thoughts to positive things " He said calmly to Riya, still patting her head lightly.
Nephele chanted something silently and touched the symbol on her upper arm before touching the one on her forehead
Riya closed her eyes and the next time she opened them, they were silver again.
Riya ran to Elijah and hugged him immediately apologizing. Elijah who had completely healed up, just hugged her and told her it was okay.
"What were both of you thinking, awakening her demon without my presence?" Nephele asked.
"Your presence gives me a whole week's work of fixing the boundaries again." Voleth Meir said, shrugging her shoulders.
Nephele sighed and checked on Elijah. Riya hugged him and smiled. Nephele sighed and hugged her back.
"Welcome back Meridith." He whispered as he held her.
They stayed like that for awhile till Riya stepped out of the hug. She then went back to assessing Elijah's body with Elijah grumbling that he was fine. Nephele left shortly after getting several scoldings from Voleth Meir to stop popping up as he likes.
They left the room with Riya going back to her room and Voleth Meir going downstairs with Elijah. Riya took off her slippers and went to the bathroom to wash her face. After dabbing her face dry with a towel, she looked at her refection in the mirror and saw a flicker of red mix with her silver eyes before it disappeared. She smiled at her reflection in the mirror and left the bathroom.
When she came out, Rick was already waiting for her in the room. He approached her carefully and asked her if she was okay, she smiled and told him she was good. He then went on to hug her and kiss her.
"It was really crazy outside, with the thunderstorm and all." He said, cupping her face.
"I'm okay." She said smiling.
Rick walked back to the bed to lay down while Riya went into the closet to change into something comfortable. While she was changing, she wondered what would have happened to Elijah if Nephele didn't show up and managed the situation. She shivered at the thought of hurting Elijah and shook the thought off her head.
Back in Sleepy Hollow, Tira looked out from a window in a old and deserted factory with a map in her hands that had a bloodied fingerprint sitting on Cairo in the map.
"Found you." She said and smiled.
She walked out of the room she was, and went into another room where Adonis was sitting in the corner watching the moon from a window.
"I found her." She said to him as he turned to look at her like a child who got free candies.
"She's in Egypt." She added smiling.
Adonis stood up and walked up to her, he patted her shoulders and smiled.
"You're finally warming up Witch." He said and went back to sit down, still smiling like a maniac.
Tira walked back to the room she was previously in and continued to look out the window and sighed.
