With his beautiful red pickup truck with those fake nards stuck on the back plate, he set off into the way his map told him. About TWO FUCKIN DAYS LATER he arrived at the city. He didn't exactly check the ratio of the map and ended up traveling 6000 kilometers with the crackers and gatorade in the glove box.
When he got there, he saw that it was actually pretty well organized for a planet that just had monsters start appearing out of nowhere. James went into a convenience store and remembered that he had no money, so he hoped his high physique would be enough. He rasped "Give... me... food...". The shopkeeper went "No way bud. You scrawny as hell and probably weak. If you're gonna beg, go beg outside you (he opens his system and checks James' Physique)- INCREDIBLY STRONG LORD PLEASE TAKE WHATEVER YOU WANT AND DO NOT CRUSH MY SKULL.". James just takes a lotta snacks and a few BO' O'S O WO' OR. After eating and drinking, he asks "Where can I make some money here?". The scared shopkeeper responds "Well, with your high physique, sir, you should apply for a job as a guard or monster hunter. Depending on your rank in either profession, you will earn more. With your strength, you should apply for something far above the entry grade position for either.". James leaves and goes over to a white building with the writing "DANGER ZONE PROFESSIONS - ANYONE WITH 150+ PHYSIQUE ACCEPTED".
When he entered, he was greeted by a nice looking lady who went "Hello sir. Are you here to apply for the guard job or hunter job?".
"I'm applying for the hunter job. Also, what is a danger zone? I live real far from here so I'm sorry if I sound like a country bumpkin."
"Danger zones are the areas which are far too dangerous for normal citizens, so people with higher physiques are allowed to go in there. Danger zones are given different amounts of stars based on how strong the monsters in there are. With every star, you need 100 more physique to enter the zone. Anyways, what would your physique be, Sir?".
Note that at this point, he had a base physique of 700, another 100 from the training, 300 from the tempering technique.
"My physique is 1100."
"Sir, this a serious profession. Having such a high physique is simply impossible! The strongest man in the country has a 900. I can also simply prove that this is false by checking it through my system. Now sir, what is your actual physique?"
"I know this is serious, and that's why I wasn't joking. Check it."
"I mean, I know you're lying but sure. What... no, this has to be false. HOW? HOW COULD YOU HAVE OBTAINED SUCH A HIGH PHYSIQUE?"
"Whilst adventuring near my cabin, I found a manual on the ground, and also a small box. The manual was a way to temper my body, and I have trained that to a high degree. The small box had a pill which increased my physique of 140 to 700. I also did some training after that, so yeah. Anyways, what position can I get?"
"Well... you would be able to smash the strongest man in the country to smithereens... I guess you can have the highest position... would you like to become the new Mystic Vanquisher? I can register it to your name. Also, may I have your wrist? I need to register it to your ID."
James had noticed that he had a tattoo on his right wrist, but didn't really care about it. He extended his wrist and the woman scanned it. "With this verification card, you can enter any danger zone in the country, even though you would already meet the qualifications for all of them. You can earn 500 Lidicus every day. It will be credited to your bank account exactly at midnight, starting from tomorrow. You will also earn 50 Lidicus for every monster you slay. I recommend you to check out the danger zone right outside the city. Also, you can have this Hunter Band. It works as a tracker for everything, and also works as a general utility tool.".
(Also for context, a high model car in that era is 10k Lidicus)
"Well, that's a lotta money. Either way, I'll be going to the danger zone you just told me about.".
James takes the band, which becomes a kind of wrist bracer after he puts it on. He slides the verification card in a compartment on the Hunter Band, which he assumes will keep it secure. He heads off to the danger zone the woman told him about. He sees that it is a 3 star danger zone, and thinks it will be a good warm up.
When he enters, everyone checks him out with their system and after they see his physique and rank, they bow their heads. James disappears after seeing a monster and instantly cuts it in half with his Crimson Striker. Up ahead, he sees a nest of giant red ants. He sneers and says "Looks like I'll be evolving the system today.".
