Inside the chief's mansion, Sofia is pacing back and forth Infront of Arthur's bed which is now empty.
"Please calm down Sofia Arthur is a grown man now and he has been trained personally by his father's tutor. He is capable of protecting himself and his family. "
" Helen you were not present when he was shot. They are after my precious son's life."
Said Sofia, her face painted with worry and concern for her son.
" He is now fine given that he is out pursuing the assassin.
He is the chief now, he will definitely have enemies."
Helen is trying her best to comfort her friend.
" I really thought he had left me when he dropped down all of a sudden."
Said Sofia, her eyes becoming watery tears threatening to fall on her cheeks.
*Flashback*
" Tomorrow he will be judged in the town square. And his judgement will be publicly read."
" You are all excused!" said Arthur as he stepped down from his throne followed by Roy and his two guards who stoped at the entrance of his mansion.
The following day at the town square Arthur is on his seat overlooking the noose on the raised stage. Unaware of the trap set for him.
The Coles were all brought in with chains on their hands and feet.
A loud gasp is heard from the crowd. This was new. The Coles are going to be executed? This new chief is something. The previous chiefs have always cowered when it came to the three families.
The guards of the Coles are throwing tantrums demanding the release of their masters.
The nobles were all seated on the same raised stage where Arthur was.
Lucas was discussing something with his men and Wilhelm was also speaking to the head of his guards.
The three had agreed to lure Arthur into their trap to make it easier for them to eliminate him and take over the township rule equally.
Alfredo was to trick Arthur into arresting him then they would position their men in the town square.
The town square is where any event in Halin town is done with a stage in the middle for performing and another raised platform for the chief and the noble.
There is also bleachers where the town people seat to watch any event.
They placed their assassins who were hired from another town to avoid any of them being traced back to them when they fail to complete their task.
Alfredo is brought forward and a noose is put on his neck him standing on a log.
" This man you see here is charged of treason for the attempt on our beloved chief. Do you have any last word Alfredo."asked Roy.
" I hope we meet in hell boy." The moment he finished his sentence a man with a bow rised among the crowd and aimed it towards Arthur. The crowd ran for their dear lives.
Thanks to his fast reflex he. managed to dodge the first arrow. He picked his arrow and bow and was about to shoot the guy in the crowd but his attention was diverted to an assassin running towards the tower in which his mother was witnessing the event.
He quickly shot him but was not lucky enough because an arrow was fast approaching him. This time he couldn't dodge it so he caught it right before it hit him.
The rest of the assassins were all killed by his shadow warriors.
Unfortunately the arrow he caught was leased with very deadly poison.
He started feeling dizzy and fell on his knees sweating profusely, struggling to fight the poison.
Slowly his conscious was starting to fade and not long he fell on his stomach.
Arthur's guards came running towards him, carried him to the hospital.
the poison was not able to be neutralised and this caused panic among the doctors. They have been treating him from the time he was a kid and were warned severally by general Richard in person.
He will have their heads rolling if he doesn't survive this. They all thought that he was his illegitimate son.
They all had lost hope but all of a sudden Roy came in with a cup which was greenish. The head doctor was fast to take the substance and smelled it.
"I can smell aloe Vera and mint but what is the last component of the medicine? "
" It's the roots of Mexican marigold. it will help him vomit the poison."
He quickly gave him the mixture and after some seconds he started vomiting blood.
The doctors were now at ease.
"He will need some rest and give him this medicine to cleanse his blood from any left poison."
The doctor gave Sofia a prescription and left the room leaving her privacy.
" Oh my beautiful child. If only your father was here nothing would have been like this. I miss him so much."
" Guards come and take him back to the mansion."
The guards came in with a rope stretcher, Carried him and gently placed him on top of it.
He was taken back to the mansion and placed on his fluffy big bed to rest comfortably.
