"Shut up," Cadmus hissed at Hershey, albeit half-heartedly.
"If it makes you feel better, Blair isn't that discreet either," Hershey quipped, gesturing her hand in Blair's direction. "Don't worry, Cadmus. I'm on your side."
Against his better judgment, he whipped his head up and found himself captivated by Blair's pretty magenta eyes once again. It seemed she hadn't moved an inch since he dropped eye contact, which made Cadmus internally cry out, 'Doesn't this girl understand anything about polite social etiquette?! If two people are caught awkwardly staring at each other, both are supposed to turn away and pretend like nothing happened!'
Instead, she tilted her head to the side, her eyes squinting as she curiously observed him. As per usual, she had no sense of adherence to appropriate public behavior, but still, for whatever reason, he could not help but think of her as oddly endearing.
'No, no, no! Get a hold of yourself!'
There's no way Cadmus would stoop to Blair's level.
