Chapter 14 - The awakening - Part 3 The Incident

One thing you must know about Gibraltar is, everybody knows everybody and they all look out for each other. Ciaran being who he was, was told straight away by several people be careful of the police, he had always had a problem with authority and especially the police.

Ciaran had two interactions with police officers, the first was walking home from work after twelve am, the second over the non-emergency line to request permission to go for a walk, both beyond the covid curfew time and after both interactions Ciaran left feeling positive.

Ciaran was then faced with the biggest test of his life. Ciaran's younger sister had flown over to have a holiday and one night she had waited for Ciaran to finish, he was going to the nightclub above the restaurant he was working at, his manger had not allowed him to finish early she had taken them through the fire exit and past security.

Ciaran had not been interested in going but his sister is not the type to go alone. Twenty minutes had past when his sister introduces a bloke and they both invited me to his table, when I got there, there was a young-looking female, a friend of his sister's friend.

The night from there had not been all that bad, Ciaran had spent a lot of the night keeping an eye on the young women and discussing techniques on how to manage panic attacks. It was now coming up close to being four am, Ciaran's siter and her new friend came to the table we had been sat at, they had asked if they could go for a walk.

Ciaran turns around and points to a black roof a very short distance, he said that as long as he promises to make sure his sister gets there safe, he is okay with it, in return Ciaran agreed to in turn make sure he would make sure his friend got home safe.

At this point me and the young women had been talking to another male, they were all over each other which awkward for Ciaran, he felt like an older brother who had no say. The bouncers had started kicking everyone out until I had just been staff and the three of them, Ciaran had turned to the male and told him that, that was where his night ended and he had to leave.

Ciara once again asks him to leave but this time refused and said security hasn't asked them to leave, Ciaran replies saying that it was his responsibility, they were his colleagues and they were expecting him to ask them to leave so they could clean and go home.

This now developed in to a full disagreement, the young male started to identify himself as a police officer and this had triggered Ciaran so he started to push buttons which just made it worse, the off-duty officer then pulls his police badge out of his pocket, knowing you are not allowed to present their warrant card intoxicated and especially for something like this.

Ciaran had started calling him offensive names and belittling him, all of his colleagues laughing away, I got to the point where he gets up and he tells us he is going in to go toilet and then he is going home. I come out on to the roof terrace as that is also where the exit was but instead, he comes and sits back down, this time pushing Ciaran's buttons.

Out of nowhere as they are arguing away Ciaran hears a women ask what was going on and Ciaran got a chill, he turns around to see two female police officers, Ciaran's asks to speak in private and was dragged away by the wrist, he tried to explain he side but the officer was not interested, she tells Ciaran he has to leave immediately and starts pushing him out with her hand on his back.

Just off the club property Ciaran had really had enough but instead of reacting how he would normally, he pulls his phone from his pocket and starts to video record the officer while he asked question, it had got to the point where Ciaran was at risk of breach of the peace so he went home.

Because he would have had to walk in the same direction as the officers, so instead he walked a longer route, this adds ten minutes to a two-minute journey. With the finish line in sight, less than a minute Ciaran is walking up a set of stairs and half way up he sees a police van stop abruptly, it then preforms a U-turn.

While stop in the middle of the road the officer in the passenger seat gets out and that's when Ciaran pulled his phone out again, the officer started to question him about his interactions with the female police officers.

While the officer was asking questions Ciaran is also asking his own question, making request he was entitled to and he was also making them aware the he was familiar with the law and his rights.

Ciaran had enough and decided that he was going to get his collar numbers on the recording, he walked to the officer who had provided little input and then on to the officer who had tried to bully him.

As Ciara lift his arm at goes to point the camera at the shoulder of the bully, he grabs Ciaran's wrist and pulls his phone from his hands, not that it worried though and he turns to the officer and in a sarcastic manner telling him it was point, he even had the cheek to ask what was pointless.

After fiddling with Ciaran's phone, he tries to hand it back to him but he puts his hand behind his back, he didn't want the officer to say that he tried to hit him so when that failed the officer tried to put it in his pocket, this time Ciaran hopes back.

The officer that stood by the van the whole time had not got in the vehicle and pulled up beside the bully, he throws Ciaran's phone to floor from less than a foot high and jumps in the van for them to speed off.

Ciaran picks his phone up and checks for damage, other than a crack in the screen protector it was perfect, Ciaran unlocks his phone and opens the google photos app, both of the videos had automatically backed up and it had also done the same on my Microsoft one-drive for good measure.
