Chapter 4 - Ch 4 - The first night.

The chief of workers shook my hand and returned to his people to oversee their work. I returned to the manor in the afternoon around three o'clock. Workers were still working inside and out. Disinterested, I walked past them and entered the visiting room. There were still ladders and various tools. Then I got lost in the chambers of the manor and headed for my small room. There was an unbearable silence in it, as the radio fell silent, which apparently bored the workers working in front of the manor. I lay on the bed and fell asleep after a while. I don't know how long I slept. When I woke up, I looked at my watch, it was shortly after seven in the evening. I jumped out of bed and walked to the window. I pulled back the curtain and looked out the window. It was dark outside and, moreover, it was overcast and there was heavy rain at any moment. I left the room and headed straight for the main entrance. It was completely silent, because the last workers had already left. I walked to the large front door and reached for the handle. But nothing happened. The door remained closed. I suffered. Are they locked? Am I here alone and locked? That is not possible! I ran back to my room. I picked up my cell phone and immediately dialed the principal's number.

"Good evening, I'm sorry to call you tonight. I just want to ask if there was a mistake. I wanted to get out of the manor, but the main exit is locked."

"Greetings, Branko. There was no mistake, after six o'clock the staff and all the workers left the manor. Every sixth time, our administrator locks the whole manor house and goes home. It is always so. Is something unusual going on? Do you need help?"

I calmed down a bit and didn't want to escalate the whole situation to the extreme.

"Ah, then all right. No, nothing is happening yet. So I will already know what the overall system in the manor is. I'm sorry to interrupt."

I laid the phone on the table and sat down on a chair. So what am I going to do now. I'm all alone here and behind the locked doors. Whatever. For a while, I read brochures about the Sztáray family, about this ruling family in the past. Names, positions, building projects ... At nine o'clock in the evening I came out of the room and it was dark in the whole mansion. The director has set up a night mode, in which it is forbidden to illuminate electric lights during night work shifts. But he did not justify why this must be so. I had a rechargeable flashlight in my hand, which was my only source of light at night. I walked one room after another, and the further I got, the more anxiety seized me. I realized that I was completely alone in a large mansion and that all the front doors were locked. Sometimes I even started to panic. I returned to my room, where I was allowed to shine overnight with only a small lamp on my desk. The first evening of my observation of the peculiarities in the mansion came. In fact, this role was not very different from the guard service. The only difference was that the guards did not deal with paranormal phenomena. The evening passed quite quickly, I had the feeling that only suddenly the time appeared on the watch ten minutes before twelve o'clock.

Nothing special happened yet after midnight. I sat on the edge of the bed, trying to make out strange sounds or footsteps that didn't belong here. So far nothing has been heard. There was a grave silence everywhere. It's one of the things in life that I really hate. Constant silence kills me and triggers unbearable nervousness in me. So I took a flashlight and went for a walk around the manor. The flashlight had a strong light interface, so I saw everything as in a white day. I walked slowly through the smaller and larger rooms. I shone on the furniture and the paintings on the walls. I walked from door to door, and all I could hear was my rumble. I stopped in front of the door, behind which was a large visitor's room. I squirmed a little and stood at the door for a moment. He represented I wonder how I would behave if I saw someone or something there. It was excitement with apprehension at the same time. Indescribable adrenaline. I turned off the flashlight and listened quietly to the surroundings. Nothing was heard. I grabbed the handle and quietly opened the door. I peered through the narrow strip of ajar door and focused into the darkness. There was no movement or flash of light. Nothing happened at all, so in the dark I completely opened the door and entered the guest room. I stood motionless, watching the moonlight behind the large glass windows. The night moonlight fell on the large portraits on the walls, giving them an even greater magical character. I walked across the room to the door and looked outside. I had no subconscious feeling that something special should happen, nor did I feel the presence of anyone else in my vicinity. I looked at my digital watch on my hand. I illuminated the display and saw that it was shortly after one o'clock in the morning. There was incredible silence in the mansion, which was disturbing to me. He felt horrible. Occasionally there was a car horn outside. It was the only realization that I was not completely alone on this planet. I sat down in a wooden period chair and turned off the flashlight. When I was near the main front door, I didn't feel as cramped as I did in the back of my new room. But for a change, I felt very lonely in this part of the building. There was no rustling or creaking of the floor. I was still struggling with the evil feelings that made me unbearable silently. I sat in the visiting room for maybe an hour, but nothing happened at all. I was getting tired, but I was trying to stay up with the inner conviction that I hadn't come here in vain. I tapped my flashlight nervously with my fingers, and finally I did decided to go back to his room. However, after a while I can go back to the front of the mansion and check if something has not changed. So I turned on my flashlight to illuminate the road. I walked slowly through the entire manor toward my room. It was about half past two in the morning. I walked down the narrow corridor that led to my small room. I was already at the door when I noticed some movement in my room. At first I thought I had left the window open and the curtain moved. I turned off the flashlight to see every movement first in the dark. So I distinguished a figure leaning over a desk. As I left the room, I turned off the small lamp on the table. According to the rules and regulations I signed at the beginning of the whole event. A chill ran down my back and my heart pounded. I understood that I was dealing with a paranormal phenomenon, which I had witnessed several times in the past. But at the moment, I was partially frightened. I was alone in the whole mansion and locked up. An unknown figure was leaning over the table in my room. I turned on the flashlight, but didn't shine it directly on it so I wouldn't blind it or get shocked by what I saw. With a flashlight, I tried to make a dim light by shining it on the floor, creating a darkness. In it, I saw the whole figure at my desk. It was clear that she was a slender woman as tall as I was. Her layered black dress and white blouse were of a period character. They were also worn in the distant past, at least two hundred years ago. I couldn't tell exactly. The woman ignored me at all, looked around and rolled over something on the table. At first I couldn't speak and stood as if chained to the doorway. The woman soon straightened up and slowly turned to me.

In that I saw her in full parade for a moment. Blonde hair specially groomed and braided into a very nice hairstyle. Doll's face and very nice dark eyes, behind which hid a great mystery. A woman's doll from the time of kings and the monarchy stood before me. I was not expecting such a beautiful woman, I was rather prepared for some phenomenon that is not even aware of itself and not even its surroundings. We looked at each other and we were both silent. Suddenly the woman said something in Hungarian. I gasped and shook my head, indicating that I did not understand. The woman said something again, but I didn't understand it at all. Suddenly my fear subsided. I thought I really didn't have to worry about such a beautiful ghost. And if she wanted to hurt me, I would be happy that it would be such a beauty. So I decided to speak: "Where are you from and what is your name?" I tried Slovak. The woman pressed her palms to her chest and thought a little. She also answered me in Slovak, but a little confused.

"I ... I don't know why they left me here ... my name is Amata."
