Chapter 8 - Ch 8 - Return to home.

I woke up again in the afternoon. It was exactly half past two in the afternoon when the cheerful bird could be heard screaming behind the closed window. I barely noticed him at all, and Darsy stretched out in her chair. Apparently she slept well, because she didn't notice at all that I had already stood up. A polystyrene lunch was placed on the desk. The warden Diana probably didn't want to wake me, so she just laid him on the table and left. I sat down, but before that I took Darsy in my arms, placed her against the wall in the corner of the room. She stretched a little, but fell asleep again without any problems. Lunch was still quite warm, I had vegetable soup and as a second course I discovered a chicken leg with rice and a vegetable side dish. Darsy slept. In the distance, I heard the rumble of metal ladders used by painters. I already know by heart the sounds that sound in this mansion. I'm also used to the regime that I have to be up at night and sleep during the day. Nobody in the back is disturbing me. After lunch I took the papers, packed them in my handbag. I went out of the mansion and sat on the wall. I took a cell phone from my pocket and called a secret number. The ring didn't take long and a woman's voice rang out. Quietly and briefly, I tried to explain what I needed.

"Hi V. I have entered the necessary information on this matter. I don't think I'll know more or anything else. I need your advice. I have some ideas, but I have to confirm that this is the right way. Do you have about an hour for me? "

"I'm sure I'll find one hour today. I suggest you wait for me when entering the city park. I'll be there at exactly five in the afternoon. I'll be in a white Kia car and stop right next to the park. You are already waiting there. Be there before I come so we don't get around by accident."

I was glad that there was no unexpected obstacle in our way. So I walked through the city and I also went to the water supply store. I still have an unfinished robot at home regarding water. After half past four I went to the park. I stood at the railing and waited. It wasn't yet five o'clock, and a big white Kia stopped in the parking lot just in front of me. I turned around and, as if nothing was happening, I went to the park and sat on a bench. A woman named Veronica approached me and also sat beside me uninterested.

"Hi, Branko. So we haven't seen each other in a long time. I'm glad we met again and a matter of work."

Veronika chose an electronic cigarette from her purse, which gave the impression of a high position in society.

"Hi, you're right. I'm also glad you found some time for me. I was in charge of one matter, which hinders the completion of work and the opening of the manor. Well, I'll read you my notes first."

Veronica took a cigarette and folded her sunglasses.

"No, it's not! You better just let them read. She objected. She didn't want us to talk about these things out loud, which was the usual procedure. Veronica took the papers and made notes from all sides. It took about three minutes and then the papers folded again and she returned them to me."

"Don't worry, I remembered all the data and I have it in my head. When I get home, I'll rewrite them all. And you then when you have solved everything, you have to burn the notes. As always in such situations."

"Yes, of course, Veronica, I know the rules. So I'll tell you my version of how to solve the whole thing. We have a woman here - a ghost - who died exactly 367 years ago. In Burgenland, Austria. I didn't find out why she was stuck there for so long. Poor thing, she died so young and didn't even know she was dead. For three centuries to this day, she has been wandering around mansions and castles looking for her relatives, and has not yet had the opportunity to hand over a letter from the king to the count's family in Michalovce City. I even managed to get that letter. I have it sealed in my bag. But the letter is not important now. My goal is to find a way for her to the other side, or perhaps to eternal peace, which she apparently still doesn't have."

Veronica tossed her long black hair from side to side, which meant she was thinking hard and her decision would come shortly. This is how she is known in our esoteric circles. Occasionally people with their dogs passed us, sniffing us and continuing on the path to freedom. Veronika put her glasses back on and put her purse in her lap. It was a sign that our meeting would be over.

"Branko, I decided on the second version of the solution. The first one somehow didn't offer me a high chance of success. But he thought of the other very well, I might not have thought of that. So I'm going to run everything right today. Once I have verified the necessary information to get the answers to the specific questions that resulted, I will organize the whole thing very quickly. Above all, it is important that all stakeholders are satisfied. Trust me. I'll send you an email tomorrow afternoon and after read it, delete it immediately. I will now leave and involve a few people who have access to such ancient information. I believe that we will work towards resolving the whole matter. Don't you want to come back to us? Are you happy with your disability pension?"

I prefer to leave the charitable activity to younger people. You know, it's all nice, but I also have to earn something, because nothing is generated from such activity. It's charity. A noble thing, but I still have difficult times ahead of me and I have to turn as best I can.

"Veronika didn't even move and looked ahead."

"Of course, Branko, I understand. After all, I also have a regular job and I do this only next to the robot. I feel good that I can help in difficult times what it needs. So don't worry. And we will bring this matter to an end. I have to go. You keep doing what you started. Let it go. I see it as everything that will be equipped by the weekend. Then I'll write to you. For now, hello, I'm glad you called me."

"Thank you for your help, you look very good."

I also had to flatter her, as she really looked very pretty and as always in a nice costume. It is already clear that he works at a desk in an office. Veronica got in her white car and disappeared from view. I sat on the bench for a while, wondering how to conduct further conversations with Amatha, of course, if she showed up at night. I went to the store and bought some sweets. The weather was quite nice, so I was in no hurry. In my head, I projected the rooms and corridors of the manor house to see if I had missed anything. Well, I still haven't figured anything out. Nowhere in the mansion did I come across a single mention or any evidence of the existence of this young deceased countess. It's not even possible if she came here from such a distant past. I approached slowly to the entrance gate of the manor. The workers had already left, but I saw Diana leaning against the railing of the double staircase. I didn't realize it was so many hours and the end of the work shift. Well, I arrived on time and no one was cut short.

"So how are you, Branko? Have you been a little walk? That's good. At least you won't fall for a phobia, as you have to live in this big, dark and closed mansion for a while. If you want, I'll leave the manor open for you tonight so you can walk through at night. I will do so with the permission of the director, because the technicians from Humenné should come at night. The director decided that he could install a camera system, but only in the courtyard, so that we could record the movement of people around the manor. Such equipment will not be installed inside the manor house, for special reasons related to inventory, monuments and history. Therefore, tonight you will be able to go out into the air. I'll come in the morning at six, so you'll be able to lie down in peace by now."

I was glad there would be a change and I wouldn't be completely locked in the key.

"Thank you, Diana, that's great and I'm looking forward to going outside at night. I'm going to my room now, and maybe I'll lie down a little."

I walked down the long corridors and headed for the back of the mansion. I sat down at my desk and put notes together. I knew that my exploration of the mystery would not take long. I involved Veronica in it, so it will have a very fast turnaround. My slips were overwhelmed, so I lay down for a while. Darsy crept discreetly into the room and lay down on the carpet under the window to let the sun shine on her. I still thought about many things and then there was emptiness. It was a little before eight o'clock when I woke up to a strange feeling. It seemed to me that I was not completely alone in the room, but I did not see anyone. I looked under the window, but Darsy was no longer there. Not even a screaming bird woke me, but a strange distress. I was still lying down a bit and after a while I sat down. I had such a feeling of certainty that it wouldn't all take long. I changed and rubbed my palms on the table. This is how I sometimes called Darsy to me. But this time she didn't react and didn't show up. I entered the room armed with a flashlight and heard a car honking. I hurried to the main entrance. When I got there, there was a white van outside the parking lot with a Humen brand. Some men stood in the courtyard with technical briefcases in their hands.
