Both of us arrived at a coffee shop that runs for 24 hours. He ordered two cups of espresso and we both started drinking it. I sighed and lean on.
"I'm really sorry," he apologized again.
"Uh, for what?" I asked curiously.
"It's my fault why you can't go home tonight. Your parents might be looking for you," he explained.
I let out a soft chuckle, "I'm living by my own, now. How about you? Are you a university student?" I asked him and sip on my cup.
"Yes, graduating," he answered.
"What course?"
"Business and finance," he replied.
I gasped and then put my cup on the table. I searched for the inside my bag and show to him. "Do you know them, do you?" I asked him.
"O-of course? Who doesn't know them?" he replied looking at the book where Shin Tech's history is written.
"Right, can you tell me something about them?" I asked.
"About their business?" he questioned, curiously.
"No," I shook my head. "Like internally?" I replied.
His brows knitted and speak, "Internally? I'm afraid I can't give answers to that. I'm just a student who's studying business and I don't have any idea about what's happening inside their company," he explained.
"Oh, now you're finally talking," I commented out of sudden.
"Huh?"
"Nothing but who is this second son that will be the new CEO?" I queried trying to extract some information from him.
"I heard about him and articles said he's really good at handling the business. He's also innovative, lots of diverse ideas that keep on making him successful," he shared.
"You sure have lots of knowledge about him," I commented in awe.
He chuckled softly, "It's because they have been a countless example in our every lessons. They are really remarkable people," he reasoned out.
I nod, "Remarkable people who plays lives because they have money," I whispered under my breath.
"That's how business works," he stated that made me look at him.
"I hate it."
"Having business is one thing that can lift you from mud, that's why people love it. They love money," he countered.
"But if the exchange is taking away someone's justice," I paused and look directly at his eyes. "I don't want it," I continued.
"Why so deep?" he smiled for a second.
"Nothing but that's pretty normal in the world of business, right?" I asked.
He just nods, "I guess? Ahh I remember, they will actually have a welcoming party for him. Our school will send two students to attend the party and I'm one of them," he shared.
"Oh! Really?" I exclaimed then slowly lean forward to him. "Then can you take me with you?" I whispered.
"No," he answered quickly.
"Why not?"
"Because you're not a student of our school. I'm so sorry," he apologized after slapping me his reason.
I sighed and sips my coffee, "Right, dumb self," I muttered. "Argh! How can I go to that party?" I growled.
"Y-you can receive an invitation if you'll ask about it personally but it'll be a bit hard since it's somewhat exclusive," he stated.
A smirk formed in my lips. "Who said it's hard? Anyways, thank you so much. What's your name by the way?" I asked out of the blue.
"I'm Nico, pleased to meet you Ms.?" he introduced himself.
"Ericka, I'm Ericka."
We talked for more couple of hours over a coffee and food about sort of stuffs like about his school and he's really becoming talkative if the topic is about business related.
I think he really enjoys his course.
I didn't noticed that I already fallen asleep and when the sunrise hits my face, I stretched out and I saw a sticky note in the table saying, "I'm so sorry again Ms. Let's see each other in Shin Tech company"
"This kid," I whispered and then fix my things to head out.
I reached my unit and sleep for hours and when I woke up, I started preparing myself and confidently went inside Shin Tech's company. I can see poster ads everywhere about the welcoming party of this new CEO that just made me roll my eyes.
I haven't seen any of these people in personal aside from their father. Since he's been in TVs for like countless times. Every time their stock market rockets or about their huge sales they are always in news after that.
"Hello ma'am, good morning! What can we do for you?" the woman in front desk asked.
Okay, let's give this a shot!
"Hi well," I paused and took a deep breathe first. "Well, I am a journalism student who needs to write an article about the welcoming party this weekend. May I know if I can get an invitation?" I asked her.
"Oh, well about that thing ma'am. We can't just lend an invitation to you. We need your identification card, school's permit as well as your instructor's," she explained.
"Okay, so if I can pass all of it by today, I can have the invitation?" I queried.
"Absolutely ma'am and then we will still contact your school admin about this for another confirmation and we will ask the higher ups if we can allow you to go in," she added.
I just smiled and nods at her, "O-oh, thank you Miss. It's really helpful."
She as well smiles to me, "You're welcome, ma'am! Have a good day!" she greeted and then I turned my back.
What the f*** was that?
I head out and started kicking in the air. I turned around and looked at this skyscraper that is in front of me. How the heck can I go in there? I can barely pass through the lobby!
I look for my cellphone and call someone I know saying I needed help for something while walking heading completely outside Shin Tech's territory when this car passed by. The window is half closed so I made an eye contact on the person inside it.
His cold gaze made me froze from where I am standing. In just a matter of seconds as his car passed through me, he sends so much tension inside me.
"What's that? He's annoying."
