Chapter 4 - Deception

POV CHANGES (FRANK)

I kept running, trying to be on par with John but he was undoubtedly faster than me and eventually did outrun me taking numerous turns and leaps through the wooden garbage. He was respectable for that agility but I already had mischief on my mind. I was prepared, prepared to feed John a magnificent meal of deception so that he can grasp the taste of failure and realize how pointless the vague words of sheer ego are.

A third of my life was all about deceiving and lying, however, not in a bad way, all my lies had a purpose and that's the only reason I could sleep in peace. There was a time when the guilt of deception took over my heart and shackled me to the truth but I realized soon, that the shackles were quite fragile, fragile enough to be broken by the simple sacrifice of my humanity. I turned my heart void and erased all the feelings of guilt, it helped me rid of the pain that honesty forced on me. The last human being I trusted was about a few 15 years ago, and even that one person shoved upon me the unforgiving betrayal which I had tasted so many times that it turned quite bitter. As a result of that, I came to know the cruelty of reality and the fact that no other human exists that could genuinely care for you, they have their own lives, own feelings, own ambitions, and you are only another asset in their lives, they'll use you if you're worth the use, in case you aren't, they will only show you a mask of care for whatever benefits they can leech off you and then drift apart like the wind.

Thinking about some things, I indulged in a conversation with none other than myself,

"Patricia, huh"

"Can I trust her?"

"No, why would you of all people trust another person?"

"Well, she kind of understands what I've gone through."

"Oh no no, she doesn't, it's all just a thought you know, no one, no one on Earth will understand your sufferings even if they've faced something similar"

"Maybe we need each other for..."

"Need each other? Oh wow, are you going insane once again? Insane enough to believe in people's words?"

"I could be insane, and this could be a gamble, but I'm willing to take it"

"That's not even it, she's a killer, why are you trying to get into trouble?"

"Even so, even if I get into trouble, it'll at least be fun right?"

"Is this temporary fun all you want? What will you do when your fun is over and she leaves you hanging all wrapped in the twisted threads of a murder?"

"She won't leave me like that, I don't doubt her."

"If you really didn't doubt her, you wouldn't be this indecisive about trusting her, think about everything more than once, Frank."

"I still don't know, I can't fully trust her yet but I have it in my mind to some extent, and don't worry if she is a pupil of betrayal, I am betrayal in itself."

"Are you just going to stay indecisive like that? Trust only me, because, well, I am you, and always remember, it's not worth trusting others."

"Let me-"

My daydreaming was demolished when Patricia suddenly held my shoulder while gasping.

Patricia: "Where have you been? I've been searching your location for a while."

Me: "Oh, nothing, forgive me for I was just daydreaming."

Patricia: "..."

Patricia: "Anyway, you never answered my question. Are you-"

Me: "Willing to murder? Yes, we'll do it, I'm confident about that."

Patricia: "Right."

We parted off for that day after she briefly discussed the plan and our targets. We were going to murder the entirety of 1-B including John Stewart himself. However, we decided on taking out the normal people while keeping John at bay with the power of fake friendship.

The list was something along the lines of, "Raiden, Udon, Raviolo, Carthus, Arturio, Rotashe, Arthur, Rowan, Sierra, Peter..., John." "The king is, after all, quite useless without his pawns as there's no one to command, no one to show his unearned power. " I said while kicking a small pebble into the unending sea.

The next day, time passed at an alarming rate. The class was soon over and then while leaving to go towards 1-B, I met John, who was also heading to 1-A. I just stood still, in the tranquil silence. However, John held my head, tried to drag it down a bit, and said "Bow down to me, I am disgusted by thy disrespectful behavior." Just after that, he came closer and whispered "I can blackmail you and Patricia anytime, you already know what I've seen, such pathetic and careless a duo you two are." I was still silent, I had no words for him but spoke up for the sake of deception "Thou art not wrong, it was an unforgivable fault for not bestowing myself in the glorifying presence of Your Majesty". He laughed, lifting off his metallic hands which he rested by my skull, and said, "That's a better one, boy, now, come with me, introduce my greatness to this disrespectful and depressing section."

I had to go by his plans and listen to his absolutely nonsensical trash for a few more days until Patricia finally landed her first move.

It was quite a normal Sunday morning, and as usual, I went to the school and waited for John. Patricia and I only communicated using letters for the time being as I had to be with John to scrutinize him better. I took John away from the school grounds and went to the Northern part which was quite famous for being a cool and calm place, separating him from following Patricia in any way.
