POV CHANGES (FRANK)
Finally, being freed from John's disgusting leash, I traipsed towards my room since if anyone saw me at this moment, they'd first and foremost suspect me of the murders. I wasn't planning on taking any rest that night as I had to plan for my assigned task. While changing, I searched for the task note Patricia sent me but it was nowhere to be found. However, I slightly recalled that our next plan was something along the lines of taking out Raiden. I was left flummoxed about my plan and there was no way to inform Patricia since her dorm was on the other side of the school. Classes were also suspended for the time being for a small one-week rest period which made communicating with her even harder. I thought I had just lost the script while walking due to the wind but I had no clue how large of an obstacle it formed.
Two days passed on while I formed my new plan, I had no words exchanged with Patricia as the post office was also turned off but I wholeheartedly believed she was also working hard on hers. Raiden was a severely problematic person as there was no path to approaching her normally. Moreover, I observed her for some time and realized that she never got out of her dorm except for classes and even in classes, she wouldn't talk to anyone else. She was so enclosed from the world that I doubt people even acknowledged her existence, killing her would probably not even leave a mark on anyone's hearts. I kind of pitied her and didn't want to murder her since she was so innocent but I had to go with the plan.
POV CHANGES (JOHN)
(Back to right after Frank left)
"... want to inform you that the plan has been changed, I took some time to check the targetted girl out and learn about her past and it really hit my heart, yes, it even moved someone as cold as myself, so simply put, leave her alone, she really doesn't deserve it, she isn't egotistic like the others either, you can try to eliminate Dante for now, the watchtower is the best place to find him. This one is actually quite easy, Dante can be manipulated by anyone from what I've seen so just play nice around him and give him a cup of poisoned coffee, that's all you'd require to end his miserable life.
From Amira Ansoma"
I was startled to see that name at the end, Amira Ansoma was, in fact, my very own classmate in 1-B, I was sure that it was sent to Frank as he picked it up from the post office but I had no way to prove its authenticity since she wrote his name in a weird code. However, I found Amira worth investigating as she left her name at the end like a fool. "She's much smarter than I thought, she was always giving flowers and acting innocent but who knew that she had such insanity hidden inside her. Well, despite that, she is still quite the fool to have left her name at the end. Every criminal leaves a trace behind, it's almost a rule at this point." I said, looking at the blank starless sky. It was already 3 at the night and thinking about the situation, I slowly fell asleep in the park.
The next morning, I woke up pretty early despite sleeping late due to the constant bellowing of the numerous crows here. I rushed to the watchtower to look out for Dante and saw him casually standing there.
Dante: "Hey John, how is it going? You're up so early today."
Me: "Today? Rising early is good for the health so, of course, I always wake up early."
Dante: "Oh, have mercy on me, I was confused as I never saw you around the watchtower this early."
Me: "Fret not, it's all good, I stay in my own dorm most of the time for activities to maintain my elegance."
Dante: "I see."
Me: "Leaving that aside, has anything unusual happened here recently?"
Dante: "I am unsure, why me though?"
Me: "You're always at the watchtower so I thought you would know better, don't worry about it, but if you notice anything abnormal happening close to you, you better notify me."
Dante: "Sure."
Me: "Good, now be safe, you have heard of Raviolo and Udon going missing right? Don't walk alone so carefreely, make some more good friends and stay close to them."
Dante: "I- I will, thank you for being worried about me."
Me: "Now then, have you seen Amira anywhere recently?"
Dante: "Amira Ansoma? If it's her then, not much but she was close to the post office a few days back."
Me: "Good to know, here, have a dollar for your help."
Dante: "Your majesty, I am truly flattered."
I left the watchtower and continued my search for Amira. A few minutes later, I luckily found her buying some food items from the canteen with the credits we get depending on our examination results. I called her name out and she responded "Lord John! What is it? How may I be of service." I told her to meet me afterward.
She came.
Me: "You will have to explain a lot of things to me now."
Amira: "H-huh?"
Me: "Stop playing so innocent, it truly pisses me off."
Amira: "Did I do something wrong?"
Me: "Not just something, you made a huge mistake giving the letter to that dumbass Frank of all people."
Amira: "Frank? Who is that?"
Me: "Seriously, stop the act, that's enough, let me show you something."
I opened the letter and held it right in front of her.
Amira: "It wasn't me, I can ensure that."
Me: "How exactly can you ensure it? That handwriting also matches yours."
Amira: "I don't know anything, please let me go."
Me: "A friend also said that you were near the post office a few days ago, why did you go then?"
Amira: "I went there only to send a birthday wish to a friend"
Me: "Is that so? Do you really expect me to believe in such a pathetic excuse?"
Amira: "It's not an exc-"
Me: "Don't even begin to deny it, I have my proofs, now all I need to do is tell the authorities to get rid of a terrorist like you."
Amira burst into tears, she couldn't add anything more but that wasn't enough to convince me. Before leaving, she said, still crying "It wasn't me, removing me from here will have no good or bad effects on anyone here, however, it will ruin my life completely." I felt bad but I knew I couldn't trust her, she could still be pretending, still be lying, as a detective, I had to be cold and emotionless. I rested my head on my knees, sitting, and began to think of how to solve this. I told the authorities Jackson Sand, Aldous Archibald, and Rosemary Seona all about it openly by evening, they refused to take any actions against Frank as there was no definite proof but by taking me, Dante, and the letter as witnesses, they accepted Amira's guilt.
I went back to my dorm and saw Santos resting, and seeing me, he had begun
Santos: "Hey, welcome back John, where were you last night?"
Me: "Hath fallen asleep appreciating the beauty of nature."
Santos: "Oh, why do you look so tensed all of a sudden?"
Me: "T's nothing, I found a clue regarding the murders."
I handed over the letter.
(Santos read it thoroughly)
Santos: "O' dear, this is quite something, did you take any actions yet?"
Me: "I did, I told the authorities openly and they considered her guilty."
Santos: "YOU TOLD THE AUTHORITIES?!"
Me: "... What is wrong with it?"
Santos: "You made a huge mistake..."
Me: "Would you care to explain?"
Santos: "Her life... is in... danger."
I looked at him, speechless, and rushed out of the room, I felt the wind powering all around me as I was traveling at my fastest, I knew nothing except for the clear goal of reaching Amira's dorm.
Just as I reached, I found her door open, with no sign of life anywhere. She wasn't in the room either, all her items were also cleared, it was almost as if she never existed. Amira was most likely killed off right here. My heart was exploding with guilt, I couldn't feel anything, I dropped down onto my knees and grieved, hitting the floor constantly. I couldn't move, couldn't talk, couldn't think, all I knew was that it was my fault, I realized that after all, it wasn't so easy to become emotionless. Santos followed me up and came into the room as well and said, "Yeah, I knew it, the authority eliminates any possible threat, not only by removing them from the school list but also by killing them in the process, so never tell anything to them." He came towards me, held my arm, and continued, "Get up, King, I know how it feels, but there's nothing to do anymore, we have to just accept the loss of Amira and also, learn from this to discuss with me before taking any direct actions."
