After making sure that the chauffeur was placed down safely, she dashed back to the driver's side door of the car and unlocked all the doors.
She hurried to the back door of the car and opened it. Then she checked around the man lying unconscious on the back seat to see if there was anything near him that had or could injure him if he was moved. Luckily, there was nothing dangerous in the way.
She crouched down and supported the old man in the same way, with his one hand draping around her shoulder and her one hand around his waist, and tried to bring him out of the car, but she was unable to. The old man was even heavier than the driver, and she, being a petite little girl, couldn't lift him at all.
She once again glanced over to her surroundings to see if she could find anyone who could help her carry him out of the car, but unfortunately there was no one to be seen.
Knowing the essence of time, she did not waste it by just standing there thinking of what to do but actually doing nothing physically.
She decided to try one more time, using a bit more force to pull him out of the car. She used up all of her strength to pull him out of the back seat of the car.
She successfully pulled him out of the car but almost lost her footing in the process due to the sudden weight of the man on her.
She hurriedly placed one foot on the back and tried to maintain her center of gravity. She was able to balance herself again, holding on to the old man she was supporting tightly so as to not let him fall onto the road and get hurt unknowingly.
She stood up straight again and turned towards the side of the road where she had laid the driver.
She did not stop to take a breath or relax because she knew if she did then all of her strength due to the adrenaline rush would be used up. She would not be able to hold the old man up again once her body started to relax and she became tired.
Using the adrenaline rush in her body as a leverage she continued. One step at a time, she slowly but steadily walked up to the same tree, supporting the unconscious old man. She stopped right beside the chauffeur's body and sat the old man's unconscious body there.
Panting, just as she removed her hand from the old man's waist after carefully supporting his body down, she heard a loud 'boom' from behind her, followed by a glow of yellow and orange light reflected onto the things surrounding her.
She slowly turned and looked behind her.
The scene she saw was too horrifying.
The car was engulfed by flames all over, not leaving a single thing inside the car intact.
She could not imagine what would've happened to the two men, who were previously inside the car, if she had not managed to bring them out on time.
Taking deep, long breaths to calm her palpating heart, she turned back around towards the two men lying unconscious against the tree.
Heaving a sigh of relief as she saw them safe and sound, she started searching for her phone in her pockets.
She found it in the back pocket of her jeans, and took it out immediately.
She opened the dial pad and called for an ambulance.
After telling the dispatcher about the situation and giving him the specific location of the accident, she hung up and waited for the ambulance to arrive.
While waiting, not daring to touch them in case she unknowingly hurt them or messed with their injuries, she scrutinized the two people very carefully from head to toe to see if she could find anything about their identity so she could contact their family or friends and let them know about the situation.
But in the end, even after inspecting carefully, she found nothing on the surface that could tell who they were.
Not long after, she heard the blurring siren of ambulances, breaking the silence of the night, from a distance, letting her know that they'd arrive soon.
Following the sound, the ambulances soon came into sight, speeding across the empty road. She quickly hurried to the roadside and waved her hand on top of her head so that they could see her and know where they were.
Both the emergency vehicles screeched to a stop right in front of her, one after another, their sirens casting red and blue lights illuminating the surrounding tree.
Soon after it stopped, the back doors of both vehicles opened and a team of medical professionals rushed down, some with stretchers in their hands.
"This way, hurry please."
She quickly led them towards the two unconscious men.
As soon as they came into view, the medical team rushed to them and started checking them while she just stood on the side, ready to help if any need arose.
Since the two men were unconscious and unable to answer any health-related questions about themselves, one of the paramedics turned towards her and asked her if she was their relative.
"No, I don't know who they are. I was just passing by and came across this car accident. They were previously inside that car," she answered, pointing towards the burning car, and continued, "I didn't want to move them in fear of making their injuries worse, but had no choice since fuel was leaking out of the car. I haven't dared to touch them again after helping their bodies lean against the tree."
She was usually a very quiet and meek person who didn't like to talk to others unless a need arose, but today she had become so brave as to save two men from the brink of death!
She herself was amused at herself because she makes every decision after thinking thoroughly about the potential consequences she might face in the future, but today she didn't even take the liberty to consider and just rushed in quickly to save the two people.
