Chapter 7 - Bracelets

"Oh yeah, can you bring me the two bracelets that I left in the drawer? I want to take a look at it now." Enjar said to the two women. When he mentioned the bracelets, his face was showing a grin and his heart was somehow beating faster. It was like he was about to meet his crush, or when he was doing something romantic to the woman. The anticipation, the thrill, the feeling of love was somehow similar to this feeling that he felt right now.

The two women looked at each other and then one of them, Vebi, got off from the bed and went to the desk that contained two drawers in there. She knew that these bracelets meant something to him. For as long as she knew, he had been keeping these bracelets like a treasure or a family heirloom.

It was the time when he finally married her that she got to know the existence of the bracelets. There were two bracelets with different forms. She thought that Enjar must be missing the bracelets after undergoing that painful sickness before.

It was normal in her mind because knowing how he always took utmost care on treating the two bracelets and not letting any damage or harm even by a slightest scratch. If Enjar had most treasured troves in his possession, she without a doubt would believe that these two bracelets were the most precious.

One of the bracelets had many stones that somehow arranged neatly and looked ordered with the color of dark red, it was as if pitch black color and a burning red color that flaring up violently got mixed into one entity. Each stone had different kinds of forms and shapes, but the color was all the same, deep dark red.

The first time she saw this, it was as if her soul got sucked into it. It was just an impression that she got when she saw this bracelet. The beauty of the bracelet was soul-stealing for her. But nothing less, nothing more. It truly looked impressive and amazing, it was like the biggest treasures that the world could produce were made into this single bracelet.

But still, her impression was still like when she saw gold and diamond, those are amazing things but those were just jewelry. She had asked him about these bracelets before, where did he get them from. But he did not answer it directly, he was like he did not want to tell her for now. Maybe there was a story behind it, so she did not want to push the matter onto him.

While the other one, the bracelet had only one stone that was attached to a leather-like circle. The circle itself looked strong and formidable, as if even a wire made up of steel could not hold a candle toward it. While the stone itself was dangling attached to the circle.

The stone had the form of a tube that got flattened down a bit. It looked like a similar form, a design that looked like anatomy from a part of a limb of a human being. The color was light chocolate, with some wrinkles on the surface of the stone.

She brought the bracelets with care knowing how he valued these things so much. And when Enjar saw the bracelets, his grin got wider. The two women who saw him grinning like this somehow got a little bit scared. The two women knew that this man sometimes smiled so widely when he got so excited, or when he wanted to play it rough with them on the bed. And usually, they did not really mind it that much about him grinning so widely like this. Even somehow they got washed into his emotion, feeling excited as him. But when they saw this smile that he used right now, somehow it was different.

"Geez Big Brother Enjar, please don't smile like that. It's scary…." Tara said to Enjar while tugging on his sleeve a little. Vebi agreed with what Tara just said right now and smiled wryly and nodded her head.

Enjar shook his head and calmed down. "Ohh, I'm sorry girls. It's just that these bracelets are truly precious to me. Seeing it still there just brings me comfort and contention." He said to them with a gentle smile. Vebi got close to him and then proceeded to give Enjar the bracelets. Enjar took the bracelets and put them on his arm, hiding them beneath the sleeves of his robes.

"Okay, we will meet Physician Emin this morning. It's almost dawn already. I feel better now, and I want to walk for a bit." He said while trying to sit up on the bed.

"Are you really okay, Dear? Don't you need to rest again at least until we see Physician Emin?" Vebi followed Enjar by also sitting up on the bed too. Vebi could not help but get worried. Taking a rest when someone was sick was one of the best ways to cure the illness itself.

"I think so too, I truly don't want you to be sick like that again. And I need to tell you something right now, Big Brother." Tara said with a little bit of seriousness mixed with nervousness and happiness.

Enjar and Vebi were quite startled seeing her getting like this. They saw her getting up with a slow motion, as if she was readying herself to say something important. She touched her chest using her hands and took a deep breath. She moved her hands from the chest to the stomach and exhaled the breath that she had taken.

"What is it, Tara? It's not often seeing you like this. Did something happen? Don't tell me your body got hurt too?" Enjar said while laughing a little to ease up the atmosphere. It was also because getting hurt like him before was pretty much impossible inside of his mind. Vebi too was curious about what Tara was going to say to them.

And when Tara was about to say her first words, suddenly Enjar's eyes widened.

"Wait a second, is this something that you're going to say as an urgent matter?" Enjar said while having a serious look on his face. Looking at his face, Tara got flustered and became even nervous.

"N-No, not really, what's the matter?" Tara said in a perplexed manner.

"Okay, if you're not hurt or something like that, we can talk about it later on or maybe tonight. I need to do something first, and in a hurry too. Is that okay?" Enjar said kindly to her. He knew that it was going to be something serious, and something serious naturally going to take a lot of time to discuss. But if that matter was not an urgent matter, then he can postpone it. It was all because he needed to do something right now.

"Ohh…Okay… Then I will wait for you until you finish your matters…" Tara said dispiritedly. She had prepared her heart to surprise the two of them for the good news, but it seemed that now was not the time for her to tell them. But somehow, a little bit of relief bloomed inside her heart.

Enjar only saw Tara's dispirited face naturally. He held both of her hands using both of his own hands. He caressed them before saying something in a loving manner.

"We still have time to talk about later on, okay? Don't be sad, if you are sad then I'm going to be cold again like before." Enjar said while trying to act like he got sick again.

"Uuuu..My head hurts, please don't be sad or I will be sick again… ahhh…" His act was pretty funny to witness, he held his head and his back with his arms, as if he was an office salary man who worked up till night and his body was hurting all over.

The two women giggled when they saw this cringely cute act.

"Geez, okay okay, let's talk about it later on. You can do your matter first now. But anyway, is your body truly okay now?" Tara said with a caring tone.

"Yes, I'm better now thanks to your care. I really don't know how I'm going to survive if there were not any of you two. Thank you." He smiled and hugged them both. He hugged them both tightly as if he did not want to let them go from his embrace.

The two women did not expect that he was going to be emotional now. Happiness aroused inside of their hearts, smiles were formed on their mouths, and they too accepted his hug and caressed his back soothingly.

The night was about to be replaced with a morning. Stars were slowly losing their brightness and lines of light slowly replacing their role to be the background of the sky.
