The lesson started on the first topic of the lecture after a short introduction and orientation into the academic year . I guess we really were in college. No rest on the first day.
After a long lesson it was break hour. During the break many others approached me. I would of course interact with them before finding a reason to leave. At the cafeteria I saw Caleb who smiled at me before turning away making it as if he was fully indulging in the conversation he was having while surrounded by a group. I was getting jealous so I turned away irritated and took my meal. It was a strawberry milk box and an apple with a wrapped taco. I ate with a few new faces but I didn't mind much.
Afterward it was to the next lecture. With how long the lecture was, it would be a miracle if none of the students dozed off.
Ring! Ring!
The final bell went off and school was done. I went to the dorms where I waited for my roommate. The privilege of A-class students was you had the chance to change roommates and it was a two-person room unlike the rest, who had no say and would go between 4-8 students sharing a dorm. The A class students were fixed to a certain amount so you would only hope not to be pushed off the list.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
I heard the door unlocking when I said.
"I'm taking the top bed. You keep the left, I take the right. Is that fine?" I said as I lazily raised my head. I was taken aback by who came in.
"C-a-Caleb!" I was flabbergasted.
"Hello roomie. You don't look happy to see me." He said in the most annoyingly amused way.
"You know that's not it. I just didn't expect you. No... I Knew it wouldn't be you. H-how?" I was sure of the dorm placements.
"I asked and I got the room Jade." He said ever so nonchalantly. I was speechless.
I sighed.
I went through a lot of trouble avoiding him but who knew it wouldn't even last a day. He somehow got a way to be near me. The dorms were not as spacious as the apartment we shared. There was basically no privacy here. I couldn't believe it.
"Anyways. If it's you, what do you wanna have Cal?" I asked helplessly
"Same. You came first, you make the calls."
"I'm tired, I sleep a bit so wake me before the freshmen party." I requested.
"Kay. Sleepy head."
