On one of our adventures, I got to see the man in action. I might as well be honest and warn you that it was ruthless, cruel and painful to watch. He was in the back alley pounding away the poor kids.
Well, they started the fight first with words like "Yo! Aren't you afraid of walking at night? The streets are dangerous for kids."
"Fuck off!" Caleb grumpily replied, hating being called a kid. It was a complex of his I never got to understand.
"Oh~~ We got a rebel here. Boys, let's show them what it means not to listen to us." The gang started approaching with a threatening presence.
On reflex, I stepped behind Caleb. Then I realised I was too dependent on him even at times like this. I saw Caleb's brow twitch a little. What was he so mad about?
"What did you just say…?" Caleb muttered underneath his breath that I strained to hear him.
Before I could stop him he was already taking five of them systematically. I always stood at a distance at times like this.
I hated the blood that splat on the pavement and the ugly face they made and the horrible noise they let out. I was simply disgusted. That is what made it a normal reaction to the situation.
But to my own surprise I found myself staring unblinkingly at him who made them so. He was beautiful. I was flushed with joy and I could feel my body tremble with excitement. I even shed a few tears as if I were laughing in happiness. I loved the sight of it. It was a masterpiece. If I had a camera I would take a photo right away. I didn't want to miss a second of it.
The art was magnificent. The narrow walls to the pavement were painted red in blood. Small streams of it drew the ground. A defined comparison on the ground of brown and red. His hair was messed up. Definitely longer than what I thought and A few streams of blood swept his face. His fists clenched and droplets of blood falling off of them. I was taken aback realizing my own thoughts.
Not sure what he made up of my reaction, but he simply asked.
"Are you alright? Was that too terrifying… you're shedding tears. " Has he always been this considerate? Ah!. I'm just imagining it , probably. Today has not been normal. Well. Let's take care of what's in front right now.
"Yes I'm fine… You should get that treated... Come with me." I led him to my apartment because it was the nearest. I always had a first aid kit.
