Dan waited for him to come back but the door didn't move until her eyes burned from the lack of sleep.
She couldn't resist the frustration of that day and fall asleep. She had been overthinking since she realized about her parents. Yet, the missing part about her mother was annoying.
It was twilight, the door moved back and a shadow expanded on the floor. Moving forward, slowly, he proceeded until reaching the bed. He stood above her, half of his face was dimmed, and his bangs dropped on his eyes. He was peering at her, bending down, Hu left a kiss on her head.
Drawing back, he walked inside the bathroom and undressed. There was a tattoo on his left arm and downward of the tattoo, there was a deep old scar mark. Some bruises were on his back.
But as soon as the water showered on his body, he closed his eyes. He got a name but before extracting more details, the cops arrived, recalling who was the new commissar made him more furious. It was Fu Xiamen.
His badge had elevated so quickly, but as he discovered after some calls, the guy was a genius yet needed clues. It was good but he had to lead them forward to capture the merchant.
Washing his body, he wrapped the towel over his hip, getting out, he did his best not to wake Dan up. Snatching a remote up the table he pressed on it and a wall smoothly moved and led him to his closet.
After changing up, he came back and took his seat on the divan. Looking at the girl's face. She was sleeping peacefully and sometimes let out low snorts. He wanted to go and keep her tight in his arms but doing this only could wake her up in shock.
Eyeing over the girl for hours, when the sun was up, he left the room. He was preparing himself to face his mother. The mother, who had left him in a large house and didn't come to visit him. Years passed when a girl suddenly broke through a crowd of girls who gathered for him in the airport and called him by the name that his mother used to.
"Ke Ai!"
The girl's appearance when she approached made him chill, she was as beautiful as his mother, the young image of her that he held from childhood. He was five years old when she left him. The pain was still fresh and burning.
He was shocked and didn't know what to do, ignoring the girl, he got inside the car but quickly took out his phone and called his manager. During all those years he never asked about his mother but, if he had a sister, it was different.
Getting inside the living room, he saw Bella who was gently smashing her head on the table, her hair was messy and that expression yelled out she was anxious.
"What is wrong?"
"They are on the way to get here."
Hu tried to hide his concern and dabbed on her shoulder, "get up, to convince them you need to show a strong face."
...
Dan opened her eyes, yawning. Quickly, checked the clock and sat straight. Stretching her cramped body. Now, it was apparent that she had beaten the girls hardly.
Standing up, she fixed herself and left the room when she saw Bella and Hu.
"Good morning."
Discovering those faces, she smiled at Bella.
"Don't worry I will convince your father."
"They are on the way, they will be here in ten minutes."
With this Dan coughed. Her guts twisted for a moment, the dilemma was more horrible than she thought. They had seen all the net and highlights. On the other hand was merchant Chen. He would make sure that they get no job or case.
"I'm sorry, sister. I troubled you all, they must have been angry about the highlight news."
Hu stood up from the sofa and neared her, his hand landed over Dan's shoulder, she looked cute in her panda nightgown.
"I solved that matter, Bella is worried about my encounter with my mother."
Well, Dan could not comment on this however, she was curious about this matter.
"Come, let's have breakfast. They will join us too."
Hu led them to the dining hall until the table was set. The couple arrived.
Alex Yang was a slender man, wearing a gray suit, he appeared as if it was a court.
After ending the rituals, Bella kept her head down as those flaring eyes of her father could whip her.
"Let's have our food, then we can talk," Hu stated, keeping his left hand under the table to swallow the battle in his heart. It was the second encounter with his mother after years. The previous one was bad and ended up with a slight argument with Mr. Yang.
Having breakfast, Mr. Yang coughed, his eyes fixed on Bella, "Mr. Chen called me personally! His daughter's nose is broken."
Bella was aware of that, she heard the bone when it broke. It was the time she found herself and retreated with Victor's push.
"I am sorry, father but she began to insult us."
Her father raised an eyebrow, waiting for a reasonable explanation which this one wasn't.
"Should you go around and beat up those who cuss you?"
Maria Yang questioned.
Hu tried to snatch his eyes off the woman, he had missed her voice so much and it brought him nothing but an inward shiver.
"..." Bella couldn't answer that question, there was a good answer but it was her biggest secret.
"No, we shouldn't do this, especially when we came here to focus on our exams. What we did was outrageous."
Dan chimed in as she found the siblings struggling with their emotions, one for his mother's presence and the other one for her father's heavy aura. He was a man of law that couldn't accept any fray.
"You came here to study?"
Maria Yang was surprised, seeing her daughter's silly grades already absorbed hope in her.
"Yes, I wanted to help her." She didn't lie indeed, Bella and Dan had planned for this to study together in the library but now everything rounded and halted on this path.
"I don't think that you can continue this career after what you did!"
Mr. Yang stated dryly.
Dan squeezed Bella's hand, she hated to disappoint him, that was the reason her tears were falling on her hand.
