Chereads / The Pros and Cons of Immortality / Chapter 3 - Hello Sister

Chapter 3 - Hello Sister

"Wait!? NO!? Why are we leaving!? All those looked awesome!" Arthur whines as Remulus grabs him off of the ground, black tendrils holding him up as the wall open, to reveal a door.

"Of course it would. Unfortunately for you, though. Breakfast is still much more important." Remulus waves open the door to reveal a dining room.

One which was filled to the brim with dishes and cuisines of such variety. Arthur's nose tingled at just the whiff of it, his mouth watering as he spoke. "This all smells like heaven."

"Meh, heaven smells much better." Remulus remarks as he sat.

Arthur looks up, his face stuffed to brim, "Wat?"

"I said that you really should eat more. Your sister should be stopping by in a few minutes and eat breakfast with us." Remulus smiles.

"Wat?" Arthur asks. He swallows in a hurry, his hand dusting off his clothing, tissues wiping off his face, "Now? Why didn't you tell me?"

Remulus just watches him scramble. "Well, I kinda forgot."

"You forgot!? You don't just forget! She could kill me! I have to act like a proper younger brother! I need to at least get a bit of a first impression."

Remulus raises his hand before thinking for a bit and pulling it back. Perhaps this would be more entertaining if he let him find this out by himself.

A portal then rips through the space between the chairs. A being of darkness steps through with a shout, one whose size dwarfed everything around them. "Father. I have returned."

Arthur turns to the voice, a pit forming in his stomach as powers of insurmountable magnitude drown his surroundings, grey eyes shining through the darkness before it turns to him.

An icy voice spoke, "Huh? Who's this?"

Arthur stiffens before he stands and bows, "Uh, hello. My name is Arthur. I'm fourteen years old. I have asthma. My bio dad is shit and I wish to be a good brother. Please don't kill me!"

"....""...."

A soft click emanates from Remulus' hands, a camera in hand as he smiles, "Oh my, that was perfect." He then smiles at his daughter. "Attie, meet your older brother."

The two of them turn to him as each other looked at him in confusion, the mass of darkness twisting, turning into a little girl, revealing her pale skin, one whose golden hair waves to her shoulders. And whose beauty laid men to surrender their arms and wits.

"What!? This little bitch ass is my brother?" If only her mouth wasn't so foul.

"Excuse me? You said this little girl could eviscerate me."

Remulus takes a bite. "Uh, first of all. Yes, that little bitch ass is your brother. Adopted him yesterday, actually, and his name is Arthur Pennyworth."

He then turns to Arthur. "I never said she would eviscerate you. All I said was that she could eviscerate you violently."

Attie thought sit beside him, "That still doesn't explain why you would just adopt some random stranger that came out of an adoption center. A pet adoption center."

Arthur's smile strains, "Oh sorry, I thought you would have expected that after having such a huge fucking bitch as a daughter, a pet might have been a step up."

Attie's smile then twists into a snarl, "You wanna go, twig arms."

Arthur's whose fears and common sense were drowned in rage shouts back, "Fuck Yeah! You Pomeranian! I'll show you why I'm the older brother, bitch!"

Remulus merely takes another bite. "Oh, and he's not a random kid. He's the reincarnation and descendant of my beloved friend Arthur Pendragon."

Remulus then smiles, "So, you can have your battle later. After we eat, ok?"

"....." "....."

"Can you tell me again why you kidnapped a kid!? Father?" A voice emanated from Remulus' phone. His smile was wide as his two kids walked through an endless plane, their stomach stuffed.

"I didn't kidnap a kid, my little lion. I adopted him." Remulus spoke, matter of factly. His eyes watching the two kids, eye each other up.

He then giggles at the sight. "I even went by all the proper channels like you want me to, Mr. President. This time, everything is squeaky clean, as you kids say."

"Oh yeah, sure, if the Emperor asks you to do this for him. I'm pretty fucking sure most of them will do it for you." The voice sarcastically replies.

"Hey now, I also paid a ton of money for this."

"Fine! I get it! Then what possible reason would you adopt Arthur Pendragon!? Out of every kid out there, you decided on one whose mere presence tips the balance of power!"

The voice turns frantic. "For fuck's sake. The kid is literally the definition of overpowered. Just his awakening would ruffle the feathers of alot of people."

It then turns to pleading, "And please tell me I'm wrong."

The voice was exasperated, "Because the only reasons I could think of was either you're bored, you want to fuck with someone again or you're planning on another crusade."

The voice takes a deep breath. "Please tell me you're not planning on a crusade."

"I am not planning another crusade."

"Are you telling me that cause I told you to?"

"Yep."

"FATH-"

Remulus hangs up. "Oh man, he's going to be so furious.... It'll be hilarious."

Right after he said that, his daughter shouts, "Get ready to get blasted!" With such words, her eyes turn red as darkness seeps under her, crawling all over her skin as her voice changes.

"This shall be your end." Her voice, now coarse and gravelly, left Arthur shivering.

Arthur, who has by all accounts calmed down, is now terrified. The reality before him now slapping him in his face, as he realizes the situation he is in.

He glances at Remulus, whispering, "What the fuck do I do?"

Remulus shrugs, "Dig deep and hope for the best!"

"That isn't enough!" Arthur shouts in panic.

"Or maybe you could just surrender." A voice spoke beside him, mocking him. The air shifting in response as a swipe heads its way to him.

He immediately turns to the side, ducking away from the blow as he shouts, "Fuck you!"

Remulus then opens up another call, "Awesome speaking."

"Father! Did you just hung up on me!?" the voice shouts.

"I don't know what you're talking about, son. I kinda hung up on everybody."

"YOU! FINE! I get it! You adopted him! All I want to know is if you have any plans with that kid in your hand, because a lot has changed since you left. We can't afford you risking shit like this."

An explosion erupts before Remulus, Arthur jumping to the side, Attie's claws digging deep within the ground as she cackles, "Give up, little brother."

"Go to hell, bitch!" Arthur roars, heat forming in his chest. Heat so powerful it crawls over his limbs, with heat and anger bubbling in him.

Leonard shouts through the phone. "Are they doing what I think they're doing!?"

"Oh my, what perhaps could you mean?" Remulus chirps.

"Don't lie to me! You're getting him awakened, aren't you?"

"Of course not."

In response, an explosion erupts before Remulus. On Arthur's hand was a sword so bright, the world was drowned in its light. Its name, Excalibur.

Arthur smirks, "Would you look at that little sister? It seems the balance has shifted."

Attie growls, "I disagree." She jumps farther, the darkness in her skin seeping into her hands. Light flashing in it as magic circles writes itself before her, "I am more than capable of winning."

"Oooooh, it's getting spicy. Arthur just awakened Excalibur. And I think he's already feeling the dragon inside of him. If his red eyes are any indication."

Leonard sighs, "Please don't go on another crusade."

"I already told you, right? Me and Michael have no plan on starting a crusade..... right now."

"That sounds like you have plans on some other date. You know that, right?"

Another explosion erupts as Attie's magic finishes. Her eyes focused as a rain of meteor appears above them, their strength immense and immeasurable.

"C'mon, didn't I teach you to always stay vigilant? A crusade is just one of those things you plan for when you sit by the fire with nothing to do."

Arthur raises his sword, light forming at the edges of his sword before slashing down with all his strength, the ground cracking at its weight.

"That's!.... Who does that?" Leonard sighs, "You know what? I'll just go meet my siblings. Maybe I could go there and at least see how big of a mess I have to work with."

The world around them then shudders, two forces of immeasurable strength clashing between them, pushing Attie to exhaustion.

Arthur watches her fall, his eyes wide as he runs to her side. His arms ready to catch her, only for his legs to give up, his body falling forward.

"Okay, bye! They'll be excited to meet you." Remulus chirps as he hangs up, his two kids falling to the ground as he spoke, "Those magic amplifications runes work super well."

He then steps forward, the two kids appearing on his hands as he skips back.

"Gotta make preparations."
