Chapter 1 - Chapter 0: The 'Sun' has set

Four figures...

Four figures stood atop a small hill, seemingly looking at the setting sun on the horizon. Each one was easily distinguishable because of its unique silhouette. Not a single one of the four looked slightly the same.

The first one stood tall above the others, his toned but lean body very visible. The second one stood next to the first as they seemed to be leaning slightly against the first. His body shape seemed much more petite than the first, as did his muscle mass, skinny but not malnourished. Then there was the third who looked to be the same height as the second. Though the similarities stopped there, they possessed a unique shape to them. Mainly that their head appeared to be fully square, though the rest of the body seemed humanoid. Their posture gave the impression of a relaxed personality, they held their hands behind their back, swaying them ever so slightly with their body movements along with the small bow attached to their uniquely shaped head. Then came the final fourth figure, whose small size and bright sandy golden colored fur would immediately bring attention to her, not to mention the fact that they had two large upward-pointing ears that ended in a point attached to them along with a tail that ended in a shape similar to that of a heart. The fourth figure, to get a better view, quickly walked on all fours to the first's legs, hopping onto his shoulders. To which, the much taller figure responded by bringing one of his hands up to scratch the small creature's chin, relaxing slightly as she perched on his shoulder.

"Well that should do it for this city..." The square-headed figure told the others while looking at a floating transparent blue screen to their right.

The second and fourth figures nodded in unison, whilst the first continued looking at the "Horizon".

"What city was this one again?" The first suddenly questioned, not breaking their line of sight with the origin of light in front of them.

The second figure sighed, lowering her head in annoyance at the first's forgetfulness. They swiped their hand on the floating screen next to them, changing the screen to a translucent neon blue map of their location.

"Hmmm... the city's name was Wellington" They said nonchalantly, swiping away the screen. They looked towards the first face, who continued to look forward with a melancholic look plastered on their face.

"Is something wrong with the view? What we're lookin' at ain't exactly new to us (¬_¬)" They told as they walked closer to the first figure whilst looking to the side.

The first figure continued to look forward, not looking away for even a second to what was then revealed to be a destroyed and currently being burned down city of New Zealand, Wellington. Multiple buildings were being toppled down in a domino effect and the streets were set ablaze with a ferocious fire that didn't seem to be stopping any time soon.

The city was fully destroyed, but it was oddly quiet, not a soul in sight nor a scream of fear and panic...

"It just reminded me of y'know... since it's a city close to the ocean..." The taller figure said, rubbing the back of his head. He was reminiscing on a past event.

The fourth and second figures got closer to the first. The fourth nuzzled their small head against the first's cheek and the second gave them a side hug with an innocent yet sad look.

"Waaan...?"

"Are's... you's... sads'?" The second figure spoke with broken speech and a slurred pronunciation of their words.

"No, no. It's nothing like that, just some similarities that reminded me of it. Don't worry your soft little heads, Muku, Scintilla" He reassured the two other figures with a small smile on his face.

"Okays" Muku, the smallest of the humanoid figures, responded whilst closing his eyes and lowering his head, accepting a head pat from his melancholic friend.

Feeling a bit of jealousy, Scintilla puffed her cheeks, and as she perched on her friend's shoulder she rubbed her head against his neck, demanding some attention for herself. The first chuckled at this act, placing their free hand on Scintilla's head to pat it as well.

"Wa Waunnn.." Scintilla purred under the first' hand, leaning in further as Muku did the same.

"Hehe... you two are so needy" The male figure closed his eyes as he laughed softly. A laugh that brought a certain amount of comfort to his allies.

"Honestly..." The second figure spoke up as they crossed their arms, closing their eyes as they got close to the other three.

"You two need to learn how to show some restraint in wanting head pats! I know he gives the best on the planet, not much of a milestone now though, but you seriously need to stop being so needy all the time! ( ˘︹˘ )" They huffed, showing a small emote on her face, almost as if it was a screen. As then Muku, Scintilla, and the first figure kept quiet, looking at their friend intently.

"Uh... Sistema..." He called out to them.

"Yes? (✿◠‿◠)" They responded, not aware of what they were doing.

"You do know you're leaning forward to get a pat, right?" He stated whilst pointing at them.

Sistema froze opening their eyes, seeing that they were politely bowing slightly with both their hands together, lowering their oddly-shaped head at their taller friend. Sistema broke out of their frozen state, flinching backward with a small light-blue colored blush appearing on their screen-like face.

"N-no I'm not!" She backed away in a flash "I-I'm not like the two, hug hungry, peeps over there" They yelled, pointing over at Muku and Scintilla.

The two accused simply tilted their heads cutely. Muku then put both of his small hands on his stomach.

"But... Muku is nots hungry yets..." He said while innocently giving his flat belly a pat, Scintilla on the other hand just sat on his shoulder still confused. She had jumped down from the first's shoulder and onto Muku's.

"Muku... never change"

"Sistema, if you want some affection, then all you had to do is ask!" He said as he got closer to Sistema "Though head pats are a bit difficult with your head shape, a big ol' hug will do!"

The first, still unnamed, figure closed the gap between him and Sistema, bringing them into a tight warm bear hug. A hug with strength that would shatter the body of any normal person, though Sistema was anything but a normal person.

"≧°◡°≦" Sistema yelped at the sudden hug, their face now showing a shocked emote with a blush covering most of their face.

"Buh-buh-buh!" Is all they managed to stutter out at the moment, not moving at all. Feeling left out, the two remaining people outside the hug decided to join in the show of affection too.

"Muku...wants ins!" He said, rushing in next to them.

"Wanwaun Wan Wan!" Scintilla did the same, jumping onto the shoulder of the first once more to hug her friend's head with her small little arms and her tail.

"Ah, hugs are nice..." He said, separating from the hug and looking at the now calmed down Sistema.

"...O-okay then..." They recomposed themselves while patting down the wrinkles on their clothes.

"Now that we have that done... We should probably move on to the next area..." Sistema spoke whilst opening a small screen next to themselves "Speaking of, heads up-"

Suddenly a smaller screen with an exclamation point appeared in front of the taller figure's face with a distinguished dinging noise.

"Oh, notification time!" He said while smiling, the pressing the small screen as it shifted into a dark red color also expanding into a small wall of florescent white text

"Uh... Didn't we already clear Rome?" The tall human asked rubbing his chin, not bringing attention to the glitched text.

"Yeah, but it's more than likely that the screwed up in the number of Zombies when we were there. So as compensation it decided to give us an extra event. Sure it seems a bit weird, but I don't see why we should deny it" Sistema explained, looking at their confused friend.

"Muku says go!" Muku added in the background.

"Waun-Wan" Scintilla squeaked in her opinion.

"Hehe, alright, alright! Since I hear no objections, let's go kill us some Roman Zombies!" He yelled while pumping his fist.

The tall man looked back to the screen, which now had a small pop-up.

Do you wish to accept?

(YES/NO)

The figure slammed his hand down on yes, making the screens fade away with a little jingle.

Sistema: "Time to slaughter some religious nuts!" Sistema celebrated as they began to walk down the hill they stood on.

"W-well I wouldn't call them that..." He sweatdropped at Sistema's comment.

"Muku's tummy will be filled!" Muku added as he followed close behind Sistema, with Scintilla waddling right beside him.

The last remaining figure of the group stayed back for a few seconds, looking at his friends with a warm smile.

'In the slowly freezing world we live in, having them with me warms my life...' He thought as he then turned to the still burning city with a frown 'This chaos and destruction are necessary for this to end, let's just hope I'm close to it...'

Suddenly the figure's train of thought was broken by Sistema calling out to him.

"Hey! What're you waiting for? If we go now we'll get there in under 34 Hours! So c'mon-!" Sistema yelled out at the foot of the hill.

The figure smiled again, swinging his bat over his shoulder, as he then started to run down the hill at his friends'...

"Let's go Zam...!"
