Chapter 54 - Not As Planned

Clint walked in the front with his ax in his hands, but he seemed to be acting too casual to me. He should have his eyes moving around since there was tall grass on either side of the path over four feet tall.

Jessel was a few steps behind him, but she was on the opposite end of the spectrums. I was concerned that she would pull a muscle in her neck with how she was trying to look at everything at once.

Annie was next, but she was flipping her daggers in her hands, not paying attention to anything. That only partially surprised me since she was so good with training, but she was still Annie.

Tracy was beside me, but she seemed to be the most worried of everyone, constantly looking behind us. I was checking everywhere, but only casually, to ensure that something didn't sneak up on us.

For the most part, the party acted the way I had assumed they would. Still, the real test would be coming up ahead in the large clearing.
