Chapter 17 - A Name To Suit Him

"If you have a question about something, ask us. There is no such thing as a stupid question if you don't know the answer, and we won't judge you. After all, we are your friends," Tracy said, leaning her head on my shoulder.

This was nice.

I had always wondered what it might be like to have a friend, but I had always needed to be a Hero. Now, I just had to follow these girls, watch over them, and be their friends.

"Your right. I am a Nameless God; after all, I need to stop acting like I know it all and start relying on the friends that I have made. I promise that I will mostly make all my choices with you two from now on. I think there are still some choices that I should keep private," I said, nodding my head, but Annie looked up at me with suspicion.

"What kind of choices are those?" Annie asked, seeming a bit hostile.

"Well, if I need to use the bathroom, I am sure we don't need to discuss that. There is always the question of which one of you is prettier, another that does not need to be discussed," I said.

Annie and Tracy both gripped my arms painfully tight, both asking, "Which one is it?"

"Hey! Hey! Hey, now! That hurts!"

"Well, who do you think is prettier?!" Annie growled, and I didn't like the tone she was using; the question sounded more like a threat somehow.

"Yes, I am very curious to know the answer to this question!" Tracy asked, pushing into my arm, bringing us to a halt on the path.

"See?! This is what I am talking about!"

"Answer the question, Mr. Charisma," Annie growled, looking like she was about to bite me.

"There is no point in the question! You are both beautiful! I can't decide which one is better! Annie is cute, short, and full of confidence that always shines through. Tracy is caring, thoughtful, and looks amazing! How am I supposed to pick between that?!" I declared, and both girls relaxed their grips on my arms.

"That was a good answer," Tracy said, leaning back into my shoulder as we started to walk.

"Yeah, I guess that is acceptable," Annie said, tanking my arm with both her hands and pressing the side of her face into it.

We were almost back out of the forest, and I was feeling better. No Framilairs, but I felt like we had grown closer as friends over this.

"So, what do you girls want to do? Maybe we could try doing some training? I would like to see your skills with that blade, Annie if you don't mind?" I asked.

"Yeah, that sounds good," Annie said without looking up from my arms, but then asked, "Or maybe we could just go for a walk?"

"I think a walk sounds very good. We can do training tomorrow," Tracy said from my shoulder, and I nodded.

"True, there is always tomorrow, and you both earn the rest, so if this is something that you both want to do, then so do I. Since I am new to the place, you both will have to guide me," I said, looking up at the sun.

Jessel was throwing a fit up in Heaven as she watched the Nameless God walking with a beautiful hanging off each arm. It drove her insane because she wasn't allowed to stop them, and he didn't understand that what they both wanted was more than friendship.

"Why?! Why is he so damn frustrating?! Why does it bother me so much that he doesn't get it?! Am I going insane?!" Jessel raged, but then a god smashed down on her perfectly trimmed grass, leaving a crater from his impact.

"How is the Nameless one doing?" Helmsped, God of Lightning Gorillaz asked, kicking the small second chair out of the way that Talon had sat on and sitting down in an oversized chair he had created.

"What do you care?! I watched you kick the shit out of him when he got here!" Jessel declared, and Helmsped shrugged, summoning a large tankard of mead to his hand, and taking a long drink.

"Ahh! Well, you heard the boss, we gotta stick it to Nameless, but come on! Did you actually see his run? I watched the entire time!" Helmsped laughed, taking another long drink, his cup refilling after.

"Why would I watch him?! He is stupid! Just look at him now! Both those girls want to bed him, and he could have either one of them! Yet, he is more concerned about being their friend! Just how pathetic is this man?!" Jessel exclaimed as her teacup became a glass of wine that she pounded, her cup also refilling.

"Well, isn't that part of the mission he was sent to do? He was given pretty specific instructions. If you watched his run, you would know that this whole thing is a farce," Helmsped grumbled, and Jessel glared at him.

"What are you talking about, farce?! This man deserves to be a Nameless God!" Jessel raged, spilling wine out of her cup that flowed back into the same cup in an exciting spin of red liquid.

"You are right about that. There isn't a name that would suit him, except for one, but it looks like he isn't ready for that yet. So, into the fire and flames with him, but will he be consumed by it all? And if he isn't? What will that mean for the rest of us playing up here?" Helmsped mused, taking a short drink.

"What are you rambling on about now? Half the things you say never make any sense!" Jessel complained, but Helmsped stood up, not looking at Jessel.

"Ragnorak is coming, Jessel; I can feel it. Can't you?" Helmsped asked as he looked up into the endless skies of Heaven.

"The end of days for us Gods? Hardly. If you think that this child is going to bring about that change, we should get rid of him!" Jessel hissed, but Helmsped smiled broadly.

"Oh little Jessel, it is far too late for that now. He is the Nameless God," Helmsped replied and then leaped away, leaving Jessel angry and confused.
