Hearing what she said, I mentally slapped myself and looked away. I was supposed to be composed and not get distracted by anything as such.
"D-did I say something wrong?" Eva asked with a sad look on her face.
"Something wrong?" I asked back as I was quite confused with behaviour. "You said nothing wrong, so don't be bothered by me."
"Buā"
"Eva! Be composed!" Her sister, Erin said while approaching us together with Sean who looked tired and surprised at the same time. Erin passed me a quick look before turning to glare at her younger sister. "Do you know what you are doing?" She asked, her voice coated in annoyance.
"I. . ." Eva tried to speak to defend her actions but nothing else came out of her mouth and thus, she ended up pouting.
While the sisters were dealing with themselves, I began to check out both of them, comparing and contrasting their looks. While Eva looked like the cute one with all her curves and pretty innocent face, her sisterāErin looked like the boss type. Unlike her sister, she wasn't too endowed but she was worth a second look, her short black skirt was gently clasped around her body displaying her perfect milk-coloured thighs and long legs, and then a short top and leather jacket she wore on top. She was pretty but not just like her younger sister whose curves were tempting.
"Bro, you've changed! Are you now a pervert?" Ruben whispered close to my ears.
"How do you mean?" I purposely asked.
"Huh? You've been staring at them for too long, only a pervert does that!" Ruben replied not able to even believe what he was saying.
"A pervert? Couldn't I just admire the handworks of the heavens on them? Or do you tell me that they aren't worth the look?" I now asked, raising my brows at him with a smirk on my face.
"It's not like that," he replied in a defeated tone, "It's just tha. . . Ah, just never mind!" He said and let out a defeated sigh.
Seeing the expression on his face, I inwardly laughed.
"We've gathered seventy cores already but we still need more, these aren't enough," Sean said after a while.
"Then we should start heading to the other sides of the portal."
"That reminds me, since when did you become strong?" Sean asked me.
"How?" I asked.
"How? Are you pretending to not know what I'm talking about? Besides, I thought he was dead, so how is he alive now?"
"Do you want him dead or what? I don't get where your questions are coming from, if you've got nothing else to say or do, we might as well take off," I replied in an irritated tone.
"Arā"
"Sean, stop! Let's continue!" Erin said with a glare and then began to walk away. Eva wanted to say something but seeing the way her sister turned and looked at her made her swallow her words and followed immediately.
"You better don't cross paths with me or I'll deal with you!" Sean warned and followed the two girls.
I and Ruben stood still and kept watching as the trio walked off into the distance. "This kid doesn't know he is messing with! Should I teach him some lesson?" Ruben said angrily.
"Why should you?" I asked, turning to look at my angry friend, he is always impatient. "He is the least of my problems so ignore him." I added and began to walk away, "Are you coming or not!"

!Ding
"Kiel!"
"Mia!"
We both ran and hugged each other, it's been hours since we last saw each other in school.
"Did you miss me?" I asked with a smirk.
"And since when are you the one to ask me that? That's my question!" Mia responded with a laugh. She took my hands and began to check all over my body, even though I was beginning to get ashamed because we were in the public, and other students were looking at us.
"Mia, can you stop?" I asked in a low tone but sadly she wouldn't stop. "You are disgracing me in front of my teammates," I stretched and finally she stopped.
"I was making sure my baby is alright," she turned and explained to Ruben and the rest.
"Y-your baby?" Eva mumbled but it was loud enough for us to hear.
"Yes, my baby!" Mia replied and dragged me away. "Who is that girl and why was she sounding upset?" She asked after we must have gone far from the rest.
"She's one of my teammates, as for why she was sounding upset, you should ask her, I don't know," I replied and shrugged my shoulders.
"Hmmm, are you hiding something from me?" She asked with a curious to gaze.
"Not a thing!"
"Don't you dare hide anything from your sister or I'll spank you!" She warned while pulling on my cheeks.
"Yes, ma!" 'I'm sorry, sis but I'll have to keep some things away from your knowledge '
The two of us went back and regrouped with the others, Eva still had her eyes on both me and Mia and I was beginning to get uncomfortable about it.
"Everyone, gather around and regroup with your teammates!" Sam spoke as he came into the portal alongside the two other teachers.
"Sis, I'll need to go," I whispered to Mia and then walked away to join Ruben and the rest.
"Kiel, who's she?" I heard Eva whisper close to me. I turned and saw her staring at Mia with a hint of anger in her eyes.
"She? Why do you ask?" I asked back while smirking. I could smell jealousy in the air but I couldn't think of a better reason as to why the foul smell kept lingering in the air. Does that mean she has something for me? I bet she would be shocked if she knows how old the boy she's eyeing is.
"I don't like it when she t-touches you," she replied and lowered her head immediately.
She was bold to have spoken her mind directly, but surprisingly, I find it to be cute.
"If you don't like it, will you perhaps be the one to touch me. . . always?" I asked.
"Listen up, everyone!" Sam's voice resounded, causing everyone to focus on him. "This is the end of the exams and you all will be returning to school now!"
"Finally!"
"I'm tired already!"
"Calm down, you all. Every group leader should wait at hall 1 to submit the cores while the rest students should go home," Sam added.
After Sam was done with his speech, everyone began to leave the portal one after the other. I and Ruben decided to join Mia but just as we were about to walk away, Eva rushed and grabbed my arm.
"Can you go with me?" As she asked, her cheeks turned red.
"Why should I go with you?" I asked.
"Erin and Sean won't be around tonight, the house is too big and I can't stay alone, especially at night," she replied.
I was about to ask her about other days but on second thought, I decided not to. Since she wanted a companion, who am I to say no?
