Chapter 10 - Pay Back Time(2)

"Hold on you two!" Sam said, coming in between Ruben and Sean. "Since the two of you ignored the fact that a teacher is in your midst and is set on disrespecting me by fighting in my presence, I'll have no choice but to help you! The two of you been so eager to fight will have a duel right now, right here! The winner will go free and won't be punished for the disrespect but the loser will have to be punished, do you have anything to say?"

"Yes, I do!" Sean was the one who replied with a scornful gaze. "Sir, if the loser only gets punished, it won't be fair. I suggest that the loser gets kicked out of the school with immediate effect!"

"What!"

"Does he know what he's saying?"

The students who heard what he said couldn't help but gasp and murmur, I was also a bit surprised after hearing what he said. Does he not fear that he'll lose? And what is that thing giving him such confidence? Tsk! If only he knew what he was in for.

Sam eyed him and a sly smile crept up to his lips, "Are you sure it's what you want?" He questioned him with a sharpened gaze.

"It is what I want!" He replied with a grin.

"I see. . ." Sam mumbled and turned to face Ruben, "How about you? What do you also want?" He asked.

"Sir, there's nothing I want and I'm okay with what he said," Ruben replied, as expected of him.

"Well, that's fine as well. Now, for the remaining students, move aside and give them enough space to fight. I'll count to five and once I'm done, the fight should immediately start and here is the thing, the loser will have to be the first person to fall to the ground!"

"Hey, make sure to break his limbs!" I whispered to Ruben as I walked away.

"1!"

"2!"

"3!"

"4!"

"5!"

"Start!"

After the countdown, the teacher and the other students moved aside, leaving the two in the middle of the field.

"Get ready to leave this school!" Sean spoke as he glared at Ruben.

"In your dream!" Ruben replied.

The others might not be able to hear them but for me, it was a different case. I could hear their conversations loud and clear from where I was standing.

"Just you wait, after you, will be him! Sean spoke again while pointing his finger at me.

"Enough of your rants, save them for the fight! Fire burst!" Ruben replied and opened his palm. A ball of ice immediately formed on it and without wasting time, he directed it towards Sean's direction.

Sean dodged it as expected and a smirk appeared on his face. "Such little tricks won't get to me!" He yelled. Soon, he began to run towards Ruben with his open palms, as he ran, drops of water began to form on his palm until a larger ball of water was formed. "Go!" He yelled and the ball of water dashed at Ruben.

Seeing the incoming attack, Ruben didn't run away or tried to dodge it, he stood at that one spot and was patiently waiting for it to come closer. As it got closer enough to him, he stretched out his hand and waited for the ball of water to come in contact with his hand.

'He wants to use his demon power,' I thought as I watched him carefully. As the ball of water got to him, he opened his palm, allowing the water to keep floating on it.

"Isn't his element ice?"

"Yes!"

"Then how is he able to hold the water without it turning to ice?"

"Let's watch him and see what he's up to!"

Ruben had a smirk on his face as he opened his other palm, "I'll give you a better trick then," he beamed as ice gathered around his left palm. He directed the ice and they circled the ball of water.

I'm sure that no one else could see this except me. Around the ice and the ball of water, I could see the dark energy that was surrounding them. He was using his power as a demon to control the two spells so that they won't affect each other. He held the two spells in his hand and silently watched as the two emerged together.

"Go!" He mumbled and the two spells rushed at Sean at a speed no one could see. The next thing they saw was Sean flying into the sky and then falling to the ground with a thud.

"The winner is Ruben and Sean has lost!" Sam calmly said as he walked to the centre of the field.

"No! I disagree! He must have used some trick!" Sean yelled as he got up from the ground.

"What trick are you talking about?" Sam asked.

"I don't know but he used some trick, let's fight again, sir!" He yelled even louder. The look of disbelief on his face clearly shows that he is shocked by what had happened, he was too confident in himself that he forgot to reason properly and weigh his actions.

"The fact is that you've lost, get ready to be punished for the act of disrespect and after that, you are leaving this school! I'll send someone to gather your things!" Sam from the way he spoke seemed to be upset. Anyway, anyone could get upset by Sean's attitude so it was understandable.

"No! I didn't fail!" Sean yelled once more. He now looked like someone who's gone nuts by the way he was screaming, even when Sam sent some students to drag him to his office, he wouldn't stop screaming.

"Is he crazy or something?" Ruben mumbled as he approached me.

"Sort of," I replied and sighed.

"Why did you sigh? Don't tell me you feel pity for him?" Ruben asked with a raised brow.

"How can I? I only feel bad for his parents and not him, he could as well go to hell, I don't mind!" Yes, his parents would be the ones suffering the whole thing now, all the money they used in training him has been wasted, who knows how they will feel when they find out what happened?

While we were still talking, someone approached us from behind, we turned around to see the person and we were surprised to see a young girl.

"Do you think you can run forever?" She asked as she stared at us.

"Who is she?" Ruben whispered.

"I think we've been caught!" I whispered in return. "You know what, it's time for the second option,"

"Which is?"

"We run!"
