Chapter eight.
" What if it wasn't made up or a make believe, Rose? " She asks seriously, looking into my eyes " what if it's repeating itself? And the werewolves are about to be wiped off the face of the earth for good this time "
" What? " A part of what she said actually got to me " that's not. . . . . . . possible, is it? "
" We do not know what these Night stalkers are made of, child. We've only heard about their deeds. We'll have to wait for the Alpha. Your father thinks we would be ready for this war by preparing men to fight, training them into soldiers "
" Yeah right," I scoffed mockingly " Carl and his hoodlum of friends Should totally be turned into warriors so they could die soon "
" Rose! That's very rude "
" They make my living days hell in here, mom. I'd be better off without them "
" You know thinking about it now, Carl could turn out to be your mate and maybe you two just haven't discovered that yet "
" What?! Mom! "
" I mean. . . . . . . . you two used to play together as kids "
" Yeah, that was before he proudly discovered his wolf before he even clocked fifteen! " I rolled my eyes at the memory.
" Don't worry baby, " she dragged my cheek with her fingers " you're gonna find your wolf very soon "
" Yeah..." I quickly finished my food and disposed my dishes before rising up and dashing out, yelling a " I'll meet you at the clinic! " as I disappeared out.
I needed to check on Sabrina.
I took the route that led to her house, passing the few trees that stood before her house, only to come in contact with Jeffery. He steps out from behind the tree, his arms folded across his tall, lean chest, eyes watching me, a smirk on his lips.
" Off to the clinic again,I see " Carl's voice said from behind me and I turned to see him walk out from the back of another tree. His chest is bare too. Don't they ever wear clothes or if they were so last season, can't they wear animal skin?!
" Can't tell the road to the clinic anymore? What do you want, Carl?" I demanded bravely.
He starts laughing and Jeffery joins him.
" I just asked you a simple question, Rosie " he said, an amused smile on his lips.
" And I just asked you another, Carl "
" You know, It's funny how we used to be friends, Rosie " he said, grinning really hard you'd think his teeth were going to fall out.
" It's funny how you still call me Rosie when I've told you countless times to stop calling me that! I'm not your friend anymore! "
" Why? Upset that I found my wolf and you haven't? " He mocked with his lips pouted.
I felt the anger slowly build up inside me as he said that. How dare him! I mould my hands into a tight fist beside me, watching his perfectly white teeth as they shone under the morning sun. What the hell was his problem?!
" Are you gonna fight back now? " He dared to say again.
" Are you gonna leave me alone?! " I wailed.
" Leave you alone? Why would I wanna do that when you're so fun to be around? " He said with a shrug of his shoulders. " Women are so pathetic aren't they?, " He continued, snapping the twig in his hands into two " and so weak. Always waiting for other people to do everything for them. You want me to help you discover your wolf? Help you shift? You know exactly what we have to do to let it out, Rosie " he said sensually, bitting on his lower lip, his eyes checking out my body.
I fumed with anger and he very well saw that but continued saying the stupid things in his mouth anyway.
" Come on, Rose, you know your mate is never gonna come. You don't wanna get old with your cherry still in tact "
I grunted angrily, fiercely pushing myself up against him and pushing him till he stumbled back.
" Wow! " He laughed as he stopped at once. I stood watching him, growling angrily, my fingers digging into my palms painfully. I hated him, hated his guts. His mere presence disgusted me and I just wanted to beat him to a pulp.
Fed up with his laughter, I ran into him, pushing him till he fell on his back. I jumped on top of him, seizing his opportunity to get back on his feet and straddled his waist, throwing my fist in the air and bringing it to his face with such great force, I'd probably knock a tooth off if it had connected to his face, if he wasn't so fast in catching my forearm before it reached his face.
He throws me back and instead of falling on my back, I caught myself and landed with one knee on the floor, the other squatting towards my chest and my two hands digging into dirt. I finally regained myself on the ground, growling loudly and breathing heavily. Then I felt it. I felt something pushing up inside me, urging me to get up. I felt the colors of my eyes change and they hurt instantly, causing me to shut my eyes again.
I felt my anger intensified as my voice went another notch. My growling grew louder and louder, strange as hell to me and soon I found my eyes changing color again as I watched Carl get up from the floor.
Picking myself up, I dashed towards him, letting the anger take control of me.
