Chereads / The Alpha's Rose / Chapter 10 - The beginning.

Chapter 10 - The beginning.

Chapter ten.

The instant we stepped into the village, we saw the woods put up at the center of the place, like a fighting ring. Women circled around it, chattering and all. I jumped in glee at the sight of them.

I attempted to run towards it but Sabrina caught my hand and I turned to look at her. She shook her head, tsking her teeth before saying " let's get our faces painted first "

Painted? I looked back to the ring to find the faces of the women and the other fewer men painted in different colors of yellow, green, white, blue and black. How did I not notice that before?

I nodded before we walked over to the woman who stood before a table behind us, getting people's faces painted. I let her paint my face for me while Sabrina helped herself. After getting it done, we walked back to the ring and blended in just fine.

The show was of two men fighting in human forms. The first to pin the other down on his back wins and the only rule was that no violent attacks. Just try to pin your opponent down. You could almost do that without having to hit him though. . . . . . . . I think.

We watched the fights as different men fought and won, fought and lost, and we cheered them on until the very last fight. By the time the fight finished, we decided to take a walk around the place. I looked at the sky and saw the sun slowly fading into twilight, that's when I abruptly came to a stop, giving Sabrina a horrified look.

" What? " She asked, staring back at me.

" I totally missed the clinic! " I exclaimed.

Sabrina's lips went limp too as the realization dawned on her that we've spent too much hours here than we'd actually intended to.

" My mom's gonna kill me! What am I gonna tell her? "

" Mine too, Rose. We are really dead! "

Grabbing her hand, I dragged us out of the village non-stop. We came to a stop as we reached the middle of the woods, the village left far behind us. I stopped only to catch my breath.

" I think we should walk from here, we're already late anyways " Sabrina suggested and I nodded approvingly.

After regaining my breath, we started walking side by side, talking about how cool the show was, talking about other things.

" I think I felt my wolf earlier." I told her.

" Really?." She asked as she turned her face to watch mine.

I nodded " yeah. . . . . . Earlier when I had that fight with Carl. I was so angry, I thought I was going to shift into my wolf. I guess it was hopeless of me to think that " I buried my face downwards, remembering how intriguing and awfully satisfying the feeling was. The thought that I was gonna turn into my wolf any time from then only to have it kicked back inside me.

" Hey don't be too hard on yourself, " Sabrina said soothingly, sliding a hand over my shoulder.

Beaming a smile at her, I nodded and replied " thanks, Sab "

" We better hurry now "

Aiden's POV.

I sat watching the men fight about whose opinion I should approve. This is getting really tiring to watch.

I leaned away from my chair towards the large table and put a hand up, silencing them instantly.

"Jon," I called the man farthest from me " We do not need any alliance with any pack. Now you tell me what we need that for "

He quavers, opens his mouth and shuts it again.

Smirking lightly, I replied " that's what I thought " and leaned back into my chair.

" But we cannot sit and do nothing, Alpha " Azura speaks from beside me.

Turning a look at her, I smiled lightly before saying " why don't you tell me what you suggest we do? You've been quite "

Rising to her feet, she places both hands on the table and spoke " I think we should send men to the border, Alpha. We do not need to wait for the night stalkers to get here first before attacking them "

" We do not know if they wanna attack us! " Steve yelled across the room, causing all heads to snap towards him.

" Then perhaps you have a contribution to make? " Azura asked him.

" Of course, " he replied " I strongly suggest that we should wait for them "

" Or make an alliance now with the other packs " Jon said again, riling up my anger.

"Jon! " I roared, my voice ringing through the room in echos.

He shudders and replied " I'm sorry Alpha "

" You're weak, " I told him bitterly " and I would not have someone like you in this room "

" Forgive me Alpha "

The silence dragged on in the room before I finally spoke to Sam who sat at my right hand side " prepare for tomorrow, we're scattering a territory "

" The night stalkers territory? " Azura asked much to my amusement.

Turning a smile to her, I replied " no, that is gonna be for desert. We're going to the Blue moon pack tomorrow"

I turned back to face my council members as they all watched me, fear in their eyes. They all watched me, heads turned towards my direction at the end of the long table. I watched their faces, smiled as a thought occured to me.

This was just the beginning.
