Yang Ran stared back at Aiden in puzzlement. "I have no idea what you are talking about.
Aiden raised the gun in his hand higher. "You are lying." He pulled a trigger and a bullet went through her shoulder.
Yang Ran screamed in pain. Then, she looked at Aiden again and gritted her teeth to suppress her pain. Her body was sweating profusely. However, Yang Ran did not show any hint of weakness. Her eyes continued to stare back at the man dangerously.
"You better think again," Aiden spoke.
Her mind whirled to think of something that her father had perhaps left for her. But Yang Ran could not think of anything.
Seeing that Aiden was ready to pull the trigger again, Yang Ran quickly spoke, "My father had left me a lot of things before he left. You have to be specific. What sort of item are you looking for?"
"A map."
Yang Ran tried to think of the item that Aiden had mentioned. However, she was sure that she had never seen any map before.
Before her father left, he did not say anything much.
This was why his death came as a shock to her.
What sort of map has her father been hiding and why would these men kill everyone just to look for it?
"I haven't seen any map before. My father did not give me anything before he left."
The man raised his gun again.
"It's true!"
Aiden cocked his head to one side. "Then we have no use of you."
Her eyes widened in surprise.
Yang Ran had always known that Aiden was a quiet and cold man. However, she would never expect that this man would be so cruel.
Aiden has been with the organization for so long. He had learned a lot of skills from her father. And they had shared everything in the organization. However, this man could still kill his comrades without batting his eyelids.
Yang Ran shifted her body slightly to avoid the bullet. It hit the glass behind her and the sound of the glass breaking was heard.
A look of displeasing appeared on his face. Aiden did not seem too happy that he had missed the target. He began to aim his gun again, but this time, Yang Ran was not going to wait and let him shoot her to death.
Yang Ran ducked and rolled to another side as Aiden pulled the trigger again. Before he could shoot another round, Yang Ran picked up the gun on the floor and shoot without hesitation.
The sound of heavy breathing was heard and soon followed by a loud thud.
Her body finally give away when she saw that Aiden was no longer moving around. Yang Ran sat on the floor for a while to catch up her breath.
Then, she stood up, gathered her belongings, and ran out of the room.
Seeing Alice's dead body next to Aiden made her heart ache. However, she could not look after this little girl now and mourned her death.
At this time, her priority was to survive.
That person was eager to kill everyone in the organization. Yang Ran did not doubt that her enemy would send someone else to pursue her just in case Aiden had failed.
As she ran towards the stairs, her eyes caught the sight of two men, waiting at the end of the hallway.
Their gazes met briefly.
Seeing how the men's gaze shifted the moment they saw her, Yang Ran quickly turned around and run. She tried to recall the motel's emergency plan and turned to the emergency exit.
Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw that another man was waiting for her.
Before the man could react, Yang Ran lifted her legs and kicked the man hard on his stomach. She watched as he stumbled backward before sending another blow at his head.
Then, she began to make her run.
The two men arrived at the door and found that their friend was unconscious.
A few cursing words reverberated.
"After her!" One of the men roared angrily.
Yang Ran did not dare to relax. Her hand was holding the gun in her hand tightly. There were a few bullets left and she did not want to waste them.
A sigh of relief escaped her when she finally exited the motel building.
However, she was far from safe. Yang Ran did not doubt that the place would be full of her enemy's men. At this time, she could only run away as far as possible to stay alive.
The motel was located on a shady road and therefore, there were not a lot of people around. Yang Ran turned into an alley as she saw that the men were still chasing her.
Her hand was gripping her shoulder tightly as she hoped to stop the bleeding. But perhaps, she was too tired and had lost a lot of blood. Her mind was getting dizzier.
It was her mental fortitude that kept her going.
The footsteps behind her were getting closer.
Yang Ran tried to pick up her speed as she gasped for air.
One of the men managed to grab her shoulder and prevented her from running away.
A heavy slap fell on her face. Then, Yang Ran raised her gun.
The man muttered a few cursing words as he watched Yang Ran point her gun at him. Before she could pull the trigger, the man had already kicked the gun away from her hand.
Her body was in too much pain.
Yang Ran could only blame herself for being too weak.
One of the men grabbed her wrist to prevent her from moving around.
It seemed that she was destined to die with everyone else. She would not be able to find out the truth and get revenge for everyone who had died.
"What are you doing? Let her go!"
A deep voice was heard from behind her.
Yang Ran did not know who that person was, but she hoped that the man will not meddle in this situation and get himself killed.
The men seemed to be arguing and soon, the sound of a fight was heard. The person who was restricting her movement finally let herself go.
Yang Ran turned to make her run again, but she was caught again before she could get very far.
She raised her hand and was about to hit the man on his face. However, the man was quick enough to block her attack.
"It's alright." The same deep voice spoke again. His voice sounded a little gentle. "You're safe now."
Yang Ran raised her head to look at the person.
Her eyes were blurry with sweat and she could not see him clearly. But her instinct was telling her that she had seen this man before.
"Commander, what should we do with these men?" Another voice spoke.
Those were the last words Yang Ran heard before she gradually lose consciousness.
